  Highly Recommend!

  Delicious and beautiful! I worked with Cheryl and Venessa, great customer service. I wanted to surprise my husband with pilot wings on his grooms cake (something he wanted but didn’t think it was possible). I ordered a mold off Etsy and had it shipped to their business and it turned out perfect!
  After the cake was dropped off, there was an accident while setting up that led to the red velvet layer getting messed up. Without hesitation, they came back to the venue and fixed it before guests arrived. I had no idea this happened until after the wedding and am so thankful for them!

  Fabulous wedding cake

  The wedding cake prepared by Bittersweet was absolutely exquisite. The groom’s cake was also terrific! They also delivered lunch for the bridesmaids at the hotel while they were getting their hair and makeup done. And it hit the spot!

  Wedding Guests Loved This Cake!

  We chose a very basic cake - vanilla cake / caramel buttercream filling / white icing - because that's what the bride and groom wanted. Bittersweet staff was great to work with and the beautiful cake was delivered professionally. What amazed me, though, was how many guests came up to us to specifically mention how fresh and delicious the cake was. We definitely got our money's worth in terms of happy guests.

  I cannot thank Bittersweet enough for our amazing wedding cake. I also want to thank Vanessa and Cheryl for helping me start to finish! Our guests absolutely raved about our cake. It was not only delicious, but beautiful as well!

  Fantastic Cakes

  Wedding cakes are a tradition and personally I’m not a big cake fan, but Bittersweet Confection changed my perspective on Wedding Cakes. The cake itself was exactly how we asked, and had the perfect texture and flavor. I highly recommend Bittersweet Confections if you are looking for a quality cake that won’t break the bank,

  Impeccable

  From start to finish, they delivered an absolutely incredible wedding and grooms cake. Our guests were raving at how wonderful the cakes tasted. This crew is also accommodating for any dietary restrictions- they were so accommodating for my gluten free requests. I highly recommend their services and cakes for your wedding day and truly any other events.

  Best Wedding Cake

  A tier above the rest

  Bittersweet Confections baked a four tier traditional wedding cake for us. Before choosing Bittersweet, we went to several different bakeries and did cake tastings but none of the cakes were up to par with Bittersweet. We could immediately tell that they were a level above the rest and perfected all aspects of a wedding cake (moisture, cake flavor, icing, design, etc.). Not only did our cake come out looking beautiful but it was THE best tasting cake that we have EVER had. Guests all night were raving about it. We loved eating the leftover cake after the wedding. We can't wait to dig into the top tier for our anniversary.

  Bittersweet Is Amazing!

  Bittersweet Confections made the beignets that we served at our wedding, and they were the best beignets we have ever had! Our guests kept bringing them up at the brunch the day after, saying that they ate 3-4 beignets each! They were warm and absolutely delicious. We highly recommend serving beignets at your wedding from Bittersweet – they are easy to work with and, as a Brooklyn, New York-based couple, our out of town guests loved that New Orleans touch.

  5 stars all around!

  Cheryl and her team did such an amazing job from beginning to end from the cake tasting to the finished cakes! They created a beautiful gold painted tiered cake for our wedding and an absolutely amazing groom's cake shaped like a cooler with a bottle of Jack, a mahi, and a tuna on top of ice! Just to add some more detailed there was even fluer de lis and our initial on the front! The cakes were not only beautiful but tasted AMAZING! Do yourself a favor and at least taste the banana nut bread with peanut butter frosting! You won't regret it!
  We even used them for catering the morning of for breakfast for all of the bridal party!

  Our experience with Bittersweet Confections was great! The owner Cheryl was so nice and accommodating and I would highly recommend using this bakery. The cake and groom's "chocolate extravaganza" dessert bar treats were absolutely gorgeous - not to mention delicious. The presentation that they did was so beautiful and we're very thankful we had the opportunity to work with them for our wedding.

  The compliments kept rolling in!

  Wow! I would have never imagined that we would get so many compliments on our wedding cake! We heard a lot of "Stunning" and "So Delicious" for days to come after our wedding. Bittersweet made a simple, but gorgeous wedding cake based on our discussions during the tasting (we needed a good bit of help guidance - which was given to us with patience and a definite love for what they do), an amazing birthday cake for the mother of the groom, and an assortment of french macarons. So easy to work with - professional and just all around amazing! Can't wait to actually sit down and eat this cake on our one year anniversary (ha!).

  We ordered two cakes from Bittersweet and they were spectacular. Both were delicious and everyone raved about how good the strawberry wedding cake and red velvet grooms cake was. I'm admittedly not a big fan of cake or icing which is why I got a scraped cake and I thought it was to die for. I could not recommend them more!

  My daughter had very specific ideas about what she wanted at her wedding in the cake department. Cheryl was very accommodating, and our cake looked beautiful decked out in magnolias made of icing! It was a delicious carrot cake with cream cheese icing (that we are still enjoying a week later)

  We ordered a Croquembouche as an alternative to having a wedding cake. We chose a vanilla cream puff version with white pastry flowers to accent the tower. It was absolutely beautiful and it was delicious! It was so pretty, our guests at first didn't even want to touch it. But once they did, they couldn't stop talking about it! Very glad we chose a Croquembouche over traditional wedding cake and very happy that we chose Bittersweet Confections to make it.

  Absolutely the BEST cake I have EVER had. And their cakes are beautiful! They have a talented crew at Bittersweet Confections. I wanted a topsy turvey naked cake with flowers in between the layers. This was something they had never done before but they executed it wonderfully! Everyone commented on the look of the cake and how delicious it was. I wish that I lived in NOLA so I could order one of their cakes for all my special occasions. The bakery itself is adorable and has many other offerings aside from cakes. Bittersweet Confections is a MUST for your wedding!!

Cheryl, the owner, is the sweetest person you'll meet. She sat down with me and came up with how many tiers we would need. She was very easy to work with and kept in touch with me through the planning process.
  The day of the wedding my groom and I didn't get to eat any cake, except for when we fed it to each other for pictures. We froze the remaining cake and when we got back from our honeymoon we defrosted it. It tasted just like it did we when went for the tasting! They say when you eat your top tier for your first anniversary it tastes awful, but we can't wait because it still tasted great after being frozen!

  When we first started looking at bakeries for wedding cakes, I was a little disappointed. The first place we went to had a limited selection of flavors and they were unbelievably sweet... for me to say that, it's REALLY saying something. Also, they were completely against using marshmallow fondant, saying that was for home bakers not professionals. The second place I found was crazy expensive... like four times what the other places were. Then we went to Bittersweet. Cheryl was completely willing to try anything I asked. When I mentioned marshmallow fondant she immediately went to look it up to verify that she could do that for us. Then, I asked for a lace design on the cake, again, more than willing to accommodate that request. For the groom's cake we did a jukebox and it came out PERFECT. That was one aspect I used to judge the bakeries as I was looking in the beginning... Can they make the fun groom's cakes actually look real with the correct details and proportions. Cheryl nailed it!!

  I brought in a picture of a somewhat elaborate cake from Pinterest thinking there was no way they could recreate it, but they DID! It looked absolutely gorgeous and I know it took them so much time to complete. I was really happy with how professional they were and how well the cake turned out. It was delicious too!
