    The dream vendors!

BP did our small elopement with family along with our larger extended ceremony and there wasn’t a single detail that was missed. I went in a little blind and not really sure of what my vision was and what I wanted our day to look like and I was not disappointed. I’ve never felt more comfortable handing something so important over to other capable hands. They gave me everything I wanted and more in our wedding and there was truly nothing left to be desired.

You are just the best! Thank you so much--we were so honored to bring things to life for you!! What a special couple of days we got to design for you and Connor! Xo!

    Thank you, Bixby + Pine!

We are so happy we chose Bixby + Pine for our wedding! We booked them for florals and day of coordination and they were amazing to work with. Emily came to our rehearsal the day before to coordinate and made it fun and kept things organized! On our wedding day, everything turned out just like we imagined and the Bixby + Pine team taking care of everything allowed us to relax and enjoy the day. We especially loved how the florals turned out, they understood our vision and made everything look so special! Thank you, Bixby + Pine gals!!

Bixby + Pine are your gals!

Bixby + Pine are your gals! We recently used them for the florals for our wedding, and their work was beyond my wildest dreams. Before the wedding, we had a meeting to discuss my vision for the day, and then they literally made it come to life! They were an absolute delight to work with, extremely organized and very responsive even during the crazy busy 2021 wedding season. I am so, so happy that we found you, Bixby + Pine! Thank you so much for everything!

    Bixby + Pine's reply:

CELIA!! You were a GEM to design for--thank you for trusting us to bring your vision to life!!! Your wedding was so beautiful and we were so happy to be a part of it! Xo!

Bixby + Pine will make your dream wedding come to life!

The Bixby and Pine ladies are ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! The moment I had our initial consultation with them, I knew they were the perfect match for our elopement. They are so sweet, caring, professional, knowledgeable, hard working, and made me feel at ease throughout the entire process. Plus, their energy is so uplifting!

Because we were out of state, we had all of our sessions via video chat. But that did not take away from the experience at all. I had complete trust that they would do a fantastic job. They asked great questions to make sure I got exactly what I wanted and of course, they blew my vision out of the water.

During the actual elopement day, I was in such awe - everything from their designs came to life in the most perfect, elegant, detailed way. We also hired them to do our florals and every piece was STUNNING!

These ladies truly go ABOVE and BEYOND to make your day special. Our elopement was in Olympic National Park and they brought in a triangle arch with the most beautiful florals for our ceremony on one of the trails. And then they set up the most gorgeous table full of florals and candle for our dinner on the beach. They worked so hard to bring in all of these items despite the rugged terrain and the distance it took to get it set up.

I HIGHLY recommend Bixby + Pine!

    Bixby + Pine's reply:

HOLY FREAKING MOLY ASHLEY! THANK YOU for all of your kind words--you're making us blush!!! We had the best time working with you and bringing all of this to life!!!! Xo!

    The BEST gift to myself!

These girls are incredible! I could not be more happy with my choice for day of coordination, although they went above and beyond what I anticipated from day of coordinators. From the minute I decided to work with them a year ago to our wedding day they were always there to help and support us! On the wedding day when I went from being super type A and organized to the complete opposite end of the spectrum they rolled with the punches. We completely abandoned all timelines and expectation and just had a great time! (Also Jordan and Taylor dealt with my massive family who all think that they are in charge, and for that they are saints).

    Bixby + Pine's reply:

Awwwww Macie!!! You were a DREAM to work with and the day was absolutely YOU + JAKE! We were so lucky to be a part of it and to get to witness it all--we're so grateful for it!

You need this team on your wedding day!

Bixby + Pine is a dream team! We had a covid wedding that was postponed so ended up working with these gals for 2 years. From our first initial meeting even to months after our big day, this team has been there for us. Being a bride can be a really stressful experience but I luckily found that stress to be minimal thanks to this team. Our initial design meeting was like they literally plucked my ideas out of my head and put them on paper. When we had to postpone due to covid, they reached out to every vendor on our behalf and handled everything while finding us the perfect new date and negotiated so we lost no deposit or vendors.

The execution was on another level. Our wedding was literally our dream come true. I'm a planner/control freak by nature so having to hand over the reins for our big day was a bit nerve wracking and it's hard to remember that you're just 1 client of many but no matter what, they got back to me and nothing fell through the cracks.

Ashley also did flowers for our wedding and they could not have been more beautiful. I don't think I'll ever get over them lol. Everyone who attended our wedding was SO impressed with all the small details that were so thoughtfully executed.

If you want to work with a group of amazing women who have a great eye for design, know what they are doing and execute flawlessly, this is your wedding planner!

    Bixby + Pine's reply:

AHHH JESS!!!!! What a freaking TREAT you and Ryan were to work with! And we still enjoy the friendship that is sure to stick around LONG after your wedding day. We've said it again, but you'll hear us frequently say "We miss Jessie!" And it's so true--you were a dream to work with because you trusted us to do our thing! We love you both forever!!!!

Bixby + Pine is worth every penny!

Taylor, Ashley, and Jordan are AMAZING!! They helped style and plan our elopement in Kauai and added so much beauty and ease to our elopement day.

I've never been very good at styling but always admire the art that it adds onto wedding days, and it was an honor to have florals, picnics, and lay flats designed by these lovely ladies. They made sure we felt so taken care of on our elopement day, and it was so cool showing up to lunch or dinner to a surprise - like a cute little sweetheart table picnic on the beach or a pizza dinner outside of our cottage with string lights and stars. And not to mention, my bouquet was SOO dreamy. If you're looking to add some style and art to your wedding day or have help planning by a team of amazing artists, Bixby + Pine is worth every penny!

    Bixby + Pine's reply:

MEG! AHHHHH! Is it time for a freaking vow renewal yet?! GOODNESS! The day you + Zeke exchanged vows is a day we will never forget--so much love, chill vibes, and an adventure-filled day. Thank you for choosing us!

    Best florals in America

When I first got engaged, I hired Alex Hamilton (Willow and Ivy) as my wedding planner since I knew absolutely NOTHING about the wedding industry/how to plan a wedding. One of the first things we tackled was flowers and without even blinking an eye, she suggested Bixby + Pine. She showed me their work and without hesitation I agreed! Throughout my 13 month engagement, Alex and I constantly stayed in contact with Bixby + Pine, sharing ideas and thoughts regarding the wedding and they were so incredibly fun and easy to work with! After hiring them, I learned that not only do they do florals, but they do all the design work (as well as planning!). This made everything for my wedding so incredibly easy! So when I said, “on the tables I was thinking flowers, candles and gold terrariums ”, BAM they had all the candles and terrariums. When I said “oh I want this welcome sign with greenery and some fun lanterns”, BAM they had lanterns.

I have been a bridesmaid in over 13 weddings (ridiculous, I know) and typically when you hire someone for florals, they strictly do florals. So when ideas around other designs pieces come up, the bride is responsible for buying them/bringing them in. While that sounds easy enough, it can be difficult (and expensive) to go out and buy all these little pieces you want for the wedding. Then at the end of the night, instead of continuing to celebrate, the bride and groom are left collecting all the additional design pieces and figuring out how to get them home. With Bixby + Pine however, I didn’t have to think about a thing! They brought every little thing I wanted, made the wedding look STUNNING and then at the end of the night, they collected everything and took it with them. Plus now I’m not stuck with one million little wedding decorations/pieces.

Not only did they make my wedding stress free, but they do STUNNING work. The number of compliments I got on every floral arrangement was a true testament to that! We also had a huge floral arrangement at the alter and when I saw it, it honestly took my breath away. While the wedding industry in Washington is massive and finding a florist, designer, planner can be daunting, I can honestly tell say Bixby + Pine will exceed every expectation you have! They are truly the greatest group of girls and work tirelessly to ensure you get the wedding of your dreams!

    Bixby + Pine's reply:

ASHDKJAHSLKDHA!!!!! OMG LAUREN! You are the KINDEST! We are so glad you picked us because WHAT A NIGHT!!!! We adore you and are so grateful to have you and Griffin as a #bixbyandpinecouple!! Xo!

    The Wedding Dream Team

This trio of best friends knows how to work flawlessly (and tirelessly) together to make the wedding of your dreams come true. COVID-19 changed our plans for a wedding but they managed to still make magic happen on a tiny farm on Oregon with our closest family and friends. They handled a last minute venue change due to wildfires with ease and handled everything for us. I was so indecisive about what I had envisioned for our wedding and they managed to blow me away with every detail. We have received so many compliments about the exquisite florals and how relaxed we were because we knew we were taken care of.

You will not regret having these incredible women help make your wedding or event the best day ever. They will laugh with you, they will cry during your first dances and they will become like family!

    Bixby + Pine's reply:

GAHHH, Elizabeth! Reading this was the biggest treat to our day! THANK YOU for bringing us on your team--we are SO happy you and Luke are married!!!!

Sweet, High Quality Flowers and Service

We booked Bixby & Pine for our wedding flowers and we're SO HAPPY we did!! They were so helpful and easy to work with. Not only are they super responsive, they also went back and forth with us on multiple quotes helping us achieve our wedding flower vision within the budget we had to work with. On our wedding day they really delivered!! They were timely and the quality of their work was fantastic. They're super professional and well organized and also really fun to follow on social media. I really love their overall style and while we only had them do our flowers, they're exactly who I would have wanted to do our planning and design if we had hired that out instead of doing it ourselves. They have an excellent eye and were able to create exactly the bouquets and flower arrangements we wanted from just our descriptions and some pinterest photos of similar arrangements in different color combos. Their work is absolutely beautiful and they are all so sweet!!

    Bixby + Pine's reply:

OH NAOMI! You are the kindest! Thank you!!! We were SO happy to bring together the floral designs of your dreams!!

As a DJ working with a coordinator is super important. Emily was very helpful with navigating the flow of the wedding. With 200 guests we were on time with the ceremony, food, first dances, cake cutting and dance party. If you are thing on getting a coordinator please do and also choose Bixby + Pine!

These girls definitely fall into the "saved my wedding" category! After my original florist had an unexpected relocation, the B+P girls took me on as a client. And I couldn't be happier about that! They were amazing to work with, offering amazing flexibility with my geographic distance/time difference during planning. Most of all, they created some beautiful floral arrangements. My bridal bouquet was to die for. Just what I had imagined! Because of my unique circumstance, I can't speak to all the services that they offer, but I can only imagine what you'd get if you booked these ladies for your wedding design and planning. They are also super fun to follow on social media. Highly recommend!

    Bixby + Pine's reply:

Wow, thank you so much for this!!!!!! You are so freaking sweet!!! (Sorry we're just now able to get into our account and thank you for this!!!)

    Simply the best!

Bixby + Pine are simply the absolute BEST people you could possibly hire for both wedding planning and floral design. First, about the planning: these ladies are insanely organized, and they do more behind-the-scenes work than anyone ever even realizes. Soon after we got engaged, I got the crazy idea in my mind that I wanted to have our wedding at a state park, where our guests could camp overnight. But I wanted the wedding to still feel classy and elegant at the same time. A lot of people didn’t even think it was possible for my vision to become a reality- which it would NOT have been, had I not made the incredibly wise decision to hire Bixby + Pine over a year before our wedding! Taylor, Jordan and Ashley go absolutely above and beyond to bring your wedding vision to life. For example, when I described what I imagined for a seating chart wall, I did not expect that the ladies of Bixby + Pine would literally BUILD a custom seating chart wall out of wooden slats to make my vision come to life. No matter how stressed I got during the wedding planning process, the ladies of Bixby + Pine always reassured me that I was not crazy and that everything would be taken care of. And it was—so much more than I ever even expected. Here’s another example of how ON IT the ladies of Bixby + Pine are: I found out the day AFTER the wedding that one of our wedding guests (a 60-year-old family friend, mind you) had projectile vomited on the floor of the reception multiple times. On the day of the wedding, though, I literally had no idea that had even happened. Taylor, Jordan and Ashley had just HANDLED IT (and everything else) so competently, and ensured that our wedding day totally exceeded all of our expectations and was truly the very best day of our lives. Second, about the floral design: SO. FREAKING. GOOD. Again, Taylor, Jordan and Ashley made my vision come to life in the most amazing way imaginable! I explained to them my vision for creating large greenery hoops to hang above the head table for our reception- and when I walked into the reception space, THERE THEY WERE! The exact greenery hoops of my dreams! Not only did Taylor, Jordan and Ashley totally deliver when it came to making my floral visions a reality, they also surprised me by adding in an additional floral garland to decorate the outside of a tent we were using for a pre-ceremony reception as a GIFT. Reason number one billion why these guys are simply THE BEST. Long story (not) short: do yourself a favor and hire Bixby + Pine for your wedding planning, coordination, AND florals. They are the cream of the crop and I love them forever!

    Bixby + Pine's reply:

Shayna, you are the absolute best and we love you so much! Your day is one we think of often, and we are so grateful to have been on your team and to continue to watch your lives unfold! XO!

    Do not book

Unfortunately, my fiancé and I chose Bixby + Pine for our day-of wedding coordination for a small, family-only ceremony and reception in Seattle after having to cancel our original wedding plans in the South of France due to Americans being unable to travel to the EU because of COVID.

Our time as a client of Bixby + Pine was short lived. Only about 4 weeks after signing a contract with them, Gov. Inslee mandated that no wedding receptions were able to happen across the state of WA. As difficult as it was, we made the decision to cancel our second wedding - the new rules were just too strict and we wanted to keep our families safe.

Given this was our second go-around and we knew that something like this could happen we were very cautious regarding 'non-refundable' deposits as a part of our vendor contracts. When going through the initial vetting process with B+P I was assured that the deposit we were putting down would only go towards work done and to confirm our date.

Once the day-of coordination contract was signed, I heard very little from B+P, which was a surprise. I inquired multiple times regarding a floral quote, but never received one. We had a meeting scheduled mid-July for a venue walk through which they canceled last minute (15 minutes before at a venue that was more than an hour drive for me and my parents to travel to) and did not attempt to reschedule.

I shrugged these issues off as this was a difficult time for everyone and kept following up in the hopes I would eventually get a quote and answers regarding my questions. This did not happen.

Per their contract, I let the B+P team officially know via e-mail on July 25th that we were going to make the difficult decision to cancel our wedding due to the new mandates laid out by Gov. Inslee and I asked them to please refund our initial deposit as no work had been done on their end. I did not hear back from them.

On July 28th, I received an automatic notification that our second payment was set to be pulled that night and only after sending another e-mail did I receive a response back from B+P saying that I needed to sign a cancellation contract otherwise the second payment would be pulled and be non-refundable. They also stated that my initial payment would not be returned, which was a huge surprise given our intial conversations.

The cancellation contract was extremely problematic and binding regarding our initial deposit so I refused to sign after they insisted I needed to in order to avoid a second 'non-refundable' payment. This was in no way shape or form true. I was only required to send an e-mail in order to cancel their services and to experience a vendor trying to coerce me into signing something that was not in my best interest was a new low during this ridiculously difficult time. I had to cite their own contract language in order for them to recognize that I had canceled their services in the proper way.

There are many other disturbing details that I could share, but this post is long enough.

The way B+P treated me can only be indicative of how they will continue to run their business throughout the rest of this pandemic. Long story short, my fiancé and I trusted them and we clearly made the wrong decision. B+P is the only vendor that decided to berate us during the cancelation process and keep our deposit even though that was not what we originally discussed. Every other vendor has responded with kindness, understanding and has issued full refunds.

Make sure that you are working with professional vendors that are pivoting to address the new normal of weddings in the midst of a global pandemic.

    Bixby + Pine's reply:

Hi Heidi--we are so sorry for the experience you feel you had with us. Our goal is, of course, to always only have happy couples live out their happiest wedding dreams! We understand with COVID, that's not able to be the case for you and Brett--and that is a major bummer.

We wanted to address a few things publicly, so that both you and our community knows both sides of the story.

On 6-25-20, you inquired! We were so excited to see your inquiry come through our inboxes--not only did we enjoy scrolling through your instagram (which was full of long-term fashion advice and girl power), but we wrote back pretty quickly (within 6 hours) setting up a video chat consultation to see if we'd be a good fit for you, and you for us! We also let you know we got an inquiry right after yours, so we'd be able to give you an active proposal for 24 hours, before potentially offering a proposal to the next couple that inquired after you. You appreciated the heads up saying "Thanks for letting me know! Looking forward to chatting."

We got to video chat on 6-30-20, where we had a good time getting to know you, hearing about your vision, and going over how we could best serve you! We sent over the proposal right away for you to view. You hadn't seen the proposal, so you sent an email asking about it the next day where you said "Apologies if it feels like I'm rushing, but I do have a few other vendors waiting and to be honest, you have been my favorite so far :)" so we let you know it had been sent!! Once you viewed it, you let us know that you "would love love love to work with you all! $2000 is still a bit high for us, can we land at $1750? (This is still slightly above our budget of $1500 and higher than other quotes, but I really want to make it work with you all!) I know it’s not much and I’m sure you get tons of press and recognition anyway, but I am more than happy to send you lots and lots of love on insta, write a blog post, promote your email list on swipe-ups, really anything that would be valuable to you to help negotiate a lower price. (The majority of my audience is in the PNW). And I am honestly so sorry to negotiate like this... I truly believe your rate we just don’t have a ton of wiggle room. Thank you so much for your consideration..." We went back to our drawing board and made it happen for you because we really enjoyed our time with you, love being at Alderbrook, and wanted to make it happen within your budget!

You signed the contract pretty immediately and paid the non-refundable retainer.

On 7-1-20, we sent over our very first official email, with some "house rules" about how we communicate (that came directly from our contract), as well as our vendor guide, and we set up a walk-thru of your venue for 7-14-20.

You downloaded the vendor guide shortly after and checked in about florals as well (on 7-6-20). We emailed you the next day stating we'd love to go over floral ideas in person, since we're well within budget at this point, to which you agreed to!

On 7-14-20, we were five minutes out from your venue and we got a call that our grandfather had lost his life and they revived him--we needed to go to the hospital. We texted you saying "Heidi, I'm so sorry, we have to turn around--our grandpa is in the hospital and we just got a call saying he's not doing well and we need to be there. We are so sorry, we will follow up with you when we can." You responded saying "I'm so sorry to hear that!" And we replied saying "Thank you for being flexible with us. We will touch base more next week :)"

Later that day we made the hard decision, as a family, to remove him from life support. We emailed all of our couples letting you all know our grandfather passed and we'd be spending the day with family, and "we aren’t sure what the next few days will look like, but if anything is pressing, we will take care of it with you (if you feel there is something that can’t wait until next week, please let us know). Thank you for your patience, grace, flexibility, and understanding for all three of us right now."

We took the rest of that week to fully be present with our family and grieve.

On 7-20-20, we sent you an email thanking you for your flexibility and grace last week. You responded letting us know that your heart goes out to us and you're looking forward to talking through florals and the day-of schedule. You got our auto-responder, letting you know that we were still taking some time to be with family, and if anything urgent comes up, to text us.

On 7-23-20 Governor Inslee put out a new mandate saying that there could no longer be weddings, only ceremonies of 30 people or less, so we emailed your venue asking for further clarification on their end of things, and we emailed you saying: Did you see Governor Inslee's newest updates--how are you feeling about the new Washington state mandates regarding weddings? UGH, man, we get this sucks. We've reached out to Alderbrook and they're formulating their policies--so stay tuned on that!

You wrote us back that day saying you "most likely won't be moving forward with the wedding given the new restrictions" but your "fingers crossed a miracle happens and somehow Phase 3 counties are exempt (not happening, but one can always hope."

On Saturday 7-25-20, you sent an email saying you were officially needing to "cancel the Alderbrook wedding" and if we could "work on" refunding your "initial deposit that would be great".

On 7-28-20 (Tuesday), you emailed with some pretty harsh words like "the radio silence from your end has not been helpful" and "I apologize if I am coming across as harsh, but this is a difficult time for all of us and I am deeply disappointed in the lack of communication from the three of you."

We emailed back Tuesday reminding you of the policies we had in place: "The retainer is a non-refundable payment to cover multiple things, including onboarding, initial communication, and reserving the date (and turning down other weddings). Per our contract, we can certainly work with you on a postponement/reschedule--and while we know things are limited, we'd be happy to work with you to figure out exactly what that could look like for you and Brett! But in the meantime, we will send over the Cancellation Contract for you to look over and sign--and once that's signed, your automatic payment will be canceled. We're so sorry you're going through this--it's not fun at all, and we wish things in the world were different right now so we could have all the fun parties!"

You viewed it, and then let us know that you felt there was "no onboarding, barely any communication whatsoever, you canceled our only in-person meeting at the last minute."

This was a really harsh message to get--specially saying we canceled the only in-person meeting at the last minute--when you knew the reason and were so gracious about it.

You let us know (via email) "This is EXACTLY why I was hesitant to sign the contract in the first place, but felt like you ladies had a good vibe and would do the right thing if it came down to it, which unfortunately it did. Every dollar you take is money I no longer get to spend on my actual wedding and actual vendors." And you stated publicly you "knew that something like this could happen we were very cautious regarding 'non-refundable' deposits as a part of our vendor contracts. When going through the initial vetting process with B+P I was assured that the deposit we were putting down would only go towards work done and to confirm our date" you can imagine our confusion, as that's never something you brought to our attention during any communication, whatsoever.

Our contract is laid out in the clearest (and simplest) terms possible--in fact our attorney laughed after reviewing it, saying "A) You're covered, B) This is hilarious--you guys must have a fun time running your business!, and C) I like how conversational it is--no tricky clauses!" Our goal is never to have someone sign a contract they don't understand fully--we wish you would've asked clarifying questions so we could've better helped you!

In addition you mention "Once the day-of coordination contract was signed, I heard very little from B+P", which was a surprise since we had exchanged over 30 emails (upwards of 15 being from us), since you became an official B+P client. With our day-of clients (the package you selected), our role is to take over everything you've planned with each of your vendors and make sure that everything goes as smoothly as possible on your big day. It sounds as if you might've done better with the full planning package that we also have, as that package includes anything and everything and truly hand-holds all of our clients during each step of the planning process.

You state "There are many other disturbing details that I could share, but this post is long enough." We'd be curious to learn about these "many other disturbing details" as we feel like much of your story is fabricated and exaggerated--and by not stating these grievances, it feels like a way to gaslight the public into thinking there's more to the situation than there actually is.

You state that we were "trying to coerce" you "into signing something". To clear that up, coercion is the practice of forcing another party to act in an involuntary manner by use of threats or force--none of which occured.

And you stated that "B+P is the only vendor that decided to berate us during the cancelation process and keep our deposit even though that was not what we originally discussed." We have another definition to share with you, Heidi, as 'berate' means to scold or criticize (someone) angrily. Again, none of which occured.

We know this is a stressful time and oftentimes, when put under pressure and stress, peoples' best foot is not put forward, and poor decisions and reactions occur.

To wrap this up, we wish you and Brett nothing but the best.

    Please consider all other options

Do you ever wonder what happened to that kid in high school, the one that would put their name on a project, contribute nothing, and somehow still expect to get an A?

Well you found them. Bixby & Pine have embodied this strategy as their business model. At first B&P present really well, promising this involved and elaborate custom instagram worthy wedding experience. Who wouldn’t want that. The moment we put our deposit down that changed.

We would ask Bixby for simple requests, ones that you would think a wedding planner would be all about. We asked for DJ recommendations, it took 6 weeks to get a response that produced 1 vendor. After talking to that vendor we told them it wasn’t a good fit and requested other options. We’re still waiting for these. Weeks if not months for response time is the standard at this company.

You will get to a point where you are so stressed from their lack of responding and vendors being snatched up by competent wedding planners that you will in fact do all of the work yourself.

The mood board, man they love this selling point. You’re going to get this custom curated mood board based off you and your Pinterest vibes. Our mood board was sent over, and boy was it a mood. They sent a previously made mood board intact with another brides name, along with images and ideas that didn’t take into consideration a thing we were looking for.

Insult to injury after months of neglect from Bixby, we asked for a meeting to discuss what was going on. This was met with an email response stating that they no longer feel like they could work with us & that they would be keeping the $5,000 we paid thus far. Because they earned it. We got broken up with. Over a text. Because we had the nerve to ask for help.

Please do you yourself a favor, before hiring these gals, read the bad reviews with the good and consider how awful an experience you personally would have to have to write something like that. Now consider that for your wedding planning experience.

B+P left us stressed and disorganized

We booked Bixby and Pine partly based on their positive reviews which outline how their services provide a stress-reducing experience to wedding planning, so it hurts me to leave a negative review stating how much this was not the case with ours. However, I hope this review can help give other people currently planning their wedding insight into what it was really like for us to work with this vendor.

After working with B&P, we now understand there is a big difference between a “wedding planner”’ and a “wedding designer”. We wanted a wedding planner. We wanted the planning process to help ease our stress and help us feel organized. We wanted our wedding to feel intentional and spend our money where it matters, in the places that made our wedding feel personalized and saving in places that we knew were not important to us (tables, forks, napkins, etc). We wanted to make our decisions based on cost vs value. We wanted communication and collaboration all along the way. This vendor seems to not function well in this vein and instead would be better suited for couples who easily follow their template with free rein to purchase anything without question or collaboration. B&P are “wedding designers'' whose goal is to design a wedding in order to curate the perfect instagram aesthetic. Rather than support with organization, facilitating communication with vendors, and education on the wedding process, this vendor placed more emphasis on "mood boards" and flat lays to post on their instagram, following what seemed like a one size fits all template that ran smooth only if you use their own rentals and florals and their list of pricey vendors. Bixby and Pine offered no value to our wedding experience.

The following are some (not even all) of the negative details regarding our experience with Bixby and Pine: We booked Bixby and Pine in 3/2021 for our intimate 8/2022 wedding. They advertised that they would provide unlimited communication. However in the span of time between March 2021 and August 2022 we had a total of 3 meetings with them. The rest of communication was done through email. On average each email response took about 1-2 weeks. There was a span of time where they did not respond to emails for 3 months, forcing us to be on our own to make bookings and decisions before it was too late. At one point, they reported that there was an issue with their gmail, causing them to not receive emails. Although I want to believe this, I am skeptical due to their business completely being run off gmail. Regardless if this is the truth, it is a testament that they did not have it on their own agenda to reach out to us for 3 months at a time.
There was no clear communication for what tasks they would delegate tasks to me vs what they would do and no clear timeline on when they would do it. The wedding would get closer and closer and I would get nervous that time was running out to book vendors due to the competitiveness of this wedding boom. Eventually, I would end up booking vendors myself because they would take at shortest weeks and at most months to respond to us. Stressed out and feeling like we were pressed for time on all bookings due to waiting for support from b&p that never came, we booked all vendors with the exception of florals on our own.
After 10 months of very little communication in January 2022, we had our design meeting. Their planning process includes a “big” design meeting proposal presentation based on one single conversation they have with you and your pinterest board. This proposal is what they will base the entire wedding on (Not well suited for people like me who need options and time to think through decisions). Prior to making this presentation they had us pin our ideal aspects of a wedding through Pinterest. They gave us a deadline to complete our Pinterest board about 1-2 weeks before the meeting. I captioned some of my pins as captions such as “my perfect bouquet”. The day before and the day of the proposal I pinned some additional pictures of flowers that I liked the aesthetic of, even though it was after the deadline (just so I can have them saved to the board). They used the new recently uploaded pins for the presentation, indicating that they made our presentation the day of the meeting. It was clear they hadn’t even looked through my entire board or else I would have assumed they would have chosen the pictures I specifically captioned as “my perfect bouquet”. They also got our wedding date wrong on the title of the presentation. Although these examples are very small details in the grand scheme of things, this is an indication of their inattention to the details of our wedding from the very start.
In March 2022 (after working with them for a full year), they finally created a color coded outline of our budget that they stated would outline what they would take care of vs what would be delegated to us. Red for what they would do, yellow for what we would need to do and green for what was done. However, after it was created, it was not updated by them once. Attached is a picture. Cupcakes, catering, bartender, favors are things in red. However, we ended up planning and executing or just not completing those following examples because we just never heard back or got updates. Because the budget document was never updated we also never got a clear sense of cost for the overall wedding. As my husband and I thought about wedding as a whole ourselves, we were the ones who identified additional costs that needed to be accounted for (alcohol license, catering team to serve food, cups, napkins, etc). We ended up going far over the budget we had originally set. They clearly state in their contract that they are not in charge of our budget, which is fair. However, it is expected that they organize and outline all items involved in a wedding so it is clear for us to understand and plan out what is involved in our wedding in order to make important decisions.
It was understood that they would help with invitations. Invitations were not officially sent out until 1.5 months after their own suggested timeline for their completion (1 month and a half before the wedding in July 2022). They attempted to design our invites on canva. When we received what would be the mock-up, images were distorted and blurry. Font and text were misaligned. When we addressed these issues, they responded “we are not invite designers”. After scrolling through their Insta, I realized they went with this approach because their usual vendor for invites is pretty pricy, but I was surprised that they took an all or nothing approach. I google searched for existing templates with the search item “Mount Si wedding invites” (our venue was underneath Mount Si) and I ended up finding a beautiful template myself, within the top results. We purchased the template and asked them to use that template for the invites. They replied that they were “not familiar with the software” so they wouldn’t fill in our content. We ended up completing it ourselves. Within the invites I asked all of my guests to fill out their own definition of love to include in the ceremony and display at the reception. Because we were late to send the invites, many guests expressed that they did not have time to fill out these cards. If I had completed the invites myself, I would have sent them in a timely manner giving my guests enough time to get these done and I could have displayed more of the responses.
There was a disconnect in their knowledge of the details of our day. Days leading up to the wedding I realized we did not confirm cups for alcohol (only water cups) and asked them about it. Turns out our caterer did not provide them, so if I did not think to speak up about the cups, we would not have had them. They confirmed this with us 2 days before the wedding. We wanted a wedding planner so they could be on top of the small tiny things you wouldn’t normally think about, so we didn’t have to, but that was not the case with B&P.
After working with them for almost 2 years, B&P only ended up being in charge of place cards for the seating and one large scale decoration, a banner with lyrics from our first dance song. This banner was unwrapped hours before the ceremony leaving creases in the fabric. It was displayed wrinkled and shoved in the corner. They did not attempt to fix the wrinkles, so my maid of honor's boyfriend picked up a steamer and steamed it for us while all three of them watched and did not step in to help. The photographer and video arranged it to ensure it was featured in a few photos but for the whole night it was displayed in an area outside of where the majority of guests spent the night. Attached are pictures. Initially, the table they brought in was placed in a random spot in the middle of the space. The picture frames I wanted displayed were laying down rather than upright because they were not propped against a wall.Shortly before the ceremony I had to be the one to ask them to move the table to ensure the picture frames were placed upright. It almost appeared like they were purposely trying to make the space look poorly set up. Especially in comparison to how their other weddings are set up. Guests with experience in catering and planning their own weddings commented on how it was clear that B&P did the bare minimum. We just got our pictures back and noticed the intricacy and detail that B&P spent the day of the wedding creating a flat lay our wedding flowers/invites. Attached is the photo. It is clear they placed all their effort into curating this one picture, even adding in details that were not even a part of our actual wedding (netting, match boxes, ring boxes that were not our own, and envelopes that were not actually used on our real invites addressed to characters from a show we don't actually like) Although sure this looks nice, we would much rather have had effort be put into ensuring the night went smoothly than creating a curated photo of fake details of the day. This is a perfect example of a ‘planner” vs: designer”
Overall the whole process felt like it was up to me to check in only to not get responses. It was up to me to identify each aspect of the wedding and figure out how that aspect would be addressed. The process left me feeling more disorganized than if I didn’t have a planner because I waited for the support that never came to then had to remember to loop them into all of the work that I ended up doing myself. When the day came, it was clear that they wanted to place as little effort into our day as they could.
Overall, if you book Bixby and Pine for your wedding day, maybe they will take your wedding seriously, but that was not the case with ours.

    Bixby + Pine's reply:

We have looked at this review multiple times over the past handful of months and each time, we are left without words because of how laughable and how far from the truth this is. In short, we were definitely not the right fit for you but we wish you and Andrew the absolute best and hope your first year of marriage was fantastic!
