  Blenda was a wonderful photographer for our wedding! All of the photos we received are beautiful. We could tell she was very knowledgeable, competent, and creative. She was extremely easy to work with and was able to make my husband, myself, and our guests immediately feel comfortable in front of the camera. She knew how to take full advantage of our wedding location for different shots and our photos turned out better than what we could have hoped for!

  Blenda was the most wonderful photographer I have ever worked with and I have worked with a lot! She gave great advice and valuable direction on day of, our photos turned out beautifully, and all of our guests loved the photos! Her photos are beautiful and she will make you look amazing on your wedding day!

  Absolutely thrilled with Blenda and her husband Raymond and the beautiful work she created for my wedding! Everything down to the quality of photos to the process was more than I could've imagined and working with her was such a joy. Normally me and husband are a bit camera shy but Blenda has such a warm and bubbly personality it sure made us feel the aloha and so effortless and fun to work with. I had a vision for a classic/romance/vintage style and she captured it perfectly. Wasn't sure about film photography at first but after looking at her work I knew this is exactly what I wanted! And I gotta tell you, all the family and friends are blown away-"looks like a magazine spread!" She sure captured the love in every facet of our wedding!

  I'm so happy that I chose Blenda as my wedding photographer! She took photos for a close friend's wedding, so I knew she took amazing photos. She was very easy to talk by phone and e-mail, and we made plans to meet in April, a few months before my wedding. At that I felt totally at ease with her due to her sweet and friendly personality. Since my fiancee and I had a destination wedding, she suggested that we do a "love session" a few days before the wedding to get used to taking professional photos. We took our pictures on the North Shore of Kauai, which is incredibly beautiful. I recommend doing one of these sessions if you don't have experience taking professional photos, because this session made us feel at ease with Blenda and excited for taking wedding photos. On the day of the wedding, Blenda and Raymond were with us for seven hours, from hair and makeup, to our first look and bridal party photos, to ceremony photos and dinner and dancing photos. They both have such a positive energy and made our guests feel at ease during the photo taking. Blenda is very talented and takes pictures with several camera, mostly film, and puts a lot of attention into lighting and the staging of photos. When I got access to her website with the photos, I was blown away by them. Her use of film makes the photos look much better than digital photos. I got the 8-hour package, which was 7 hours the day of the wedding and one hour for the "love session." What I loved about that package is that I could select 200 prints and 500 individual photos to have on a flash drive, so I can choose which pictures I want to get enlarged or duplicated. Many photographers I looked at held all rights to the photos, so any time I would want to order more, I would have go through them. That happened to my sister a few years ago, and I did not want a similar situation. Blenda was fabulous and I'm so happy that I chose her! I love looking at her photos, as it brings me back to such a special day.

  My wife and I recently got married in Kauai and it still feels like a dream. A huge part of that dream experience was Blenda and Raymond. From the first communication to the prayers leading up and all the way to the final receipt of package, this team has truly been a joy to work with.
  
  When I look back on the whole experience, I am so grateful that God had granted us favor and brought Blenda and Raymond into our lives. It was awesome getting to know them and they are the genuinely awesome kind of people that I would have invited to my wedding had I known them beforehand!
  
  Their personalities made the experience all the better. They provided a beautiful blend their own original approach to some of the shot selections while still candidly catching my wife and I in some of our first special moments as a married couple.
  
  On top of that, their knowledge of the island helped set up some absolutely amazing pieces of art that are and will be hanging in our home for years to come.

  Looking back, we couldn’t be happier with our decision to have Blenda capture our wedding. She is truly an amazing photographer, and her passion shines through in each and every photo she takes. The whole process, from the first call to receiving our prints in the mail couldn't have gone more smooth. Blenda was everything you could hope for in a photographer.   First of all, having a destination wedding is kind of stressful enough. Based on my experience, we had to plan our wedding thousands of miles away and both me and husband hasn't been to Kauai. We've always wanted a small but intimate wedding so we decided to do it in Kauai. And Kauai didn't disappoint us. Choosing our vendors is difficult because we have to rely our decision mostly through reviews. We're so lucky that we've found Blenda! She was also recommended by our wedding coordinator. At first we weren't sure about her using film (she has the digital cam too), but looking through her portfolio, we were amaze how beautiful the photos turned out. We can also brag about that our photographer used film!!!
  We had a long phone conversation with her before we hire her just to ask questions. She's very open for questions and very accommodating about our ideas. We met with her and Raymond two days before the wedding to talk about the details of our wedding. They're just a lovely couple.
  Both me and my husband felt very relax on our wedding day knowing that Blenda will take great and amazing photos. Also her and Raymond (aka the time keeper, he makes sure that we're right on the schedule) work together smoothly. The A+++ for us too was they stayed for another 30 mins for her to take shots of our bridal party doing they're speeches. They're also very professional but we felt calm and had fun working with them.
  We're very anxious to see our photos. The packaging is so pretty and I actually think it goes with the theme of our wedding. We love every single shots and photos. We were blown away with the photos that she took with film. We can see the details more and for me it so raw (not sure how to explain ). We're so happy to work with this couple and hopefully this review will help our brides to choose there vendor.

  I would get married again JUST to have Blenda as my photographer again! Blenda is the ideal photographer. She has the skills and artistic capability to capture these gorgeous lifestyle photos while at the same time keeping all family members happy and getting the normal wedding photo shots.   Highly recommended!!! Blenda Montoro Photography is amazing! My husband and I are from San Diego and planned our 30 person intimate wedding in Kauai by telephone, emails, and yelp reviews. I first found Blenda by doing a general search. I read the amazing reviews but we knew for sure when we looked through her photos. Her eyes and camera capture beautiful moments. The perspective of the captures really makes our wedding photos stand out among the ordinary.
  Our first interaction was a phone conversation! I loved it we spoke and got to know one another. I told stories of my love and life while she listened and absorbed. We then went through my husband and my wishes and wants. After the initial conversation I immediately felt like this was a good match. We discussed booking the wedding and a pre-wedding love session shoot (kind of like an engagement photo session) at couple different spots around the island. Blenda and her husband were amazing, even though it was raining they captured playful moments between my fiancé and I, Hawaiian culture, sunrays, and many kisses.
  As we got closer to the wedding Blenda and I had communications regarding the photos that we wanted and how the wedding would flow. She is very organized and had an open line of communication throughout the whole process. She also worked directly with my wedding planner which made things much easier for the planning process.
  
  Our prints were delivered on time and in perfect condition. The 500 photos were nicely packaged in glass boxes accompanied by a glass and gold USB drive, very classy!

  We found Blenda through Instagram. We immediately fell in love with her work from her collage of pictures on her website and social media. From the first time we talked with her on the phone to our first meeting with her a couple of days before our wedding, she made us feel extremely at ease and excited about the big day. Blenda took the time to get to know us and to get a sense of what we're like as people and not just another couple getting married. Blenda's great artistic eye and her talent for capturing amazing photos lies in her ability to make personal connections with the clients that she works with.
  
  One of the reasons that we wanted to work with Blenda is that she shoots almost exclusively in film. Kauai is such a gorgeous location for a wedding and we wanted to capture its natural beauty. We wanted a film photographer because we did not want the over processed quality of digital photography. As scary as it is to not be able to visualize the photos immediately as you would in digital, we trusted that she would deliver amazing photos because of her robust experience with film. Our wedding photos were phenomenal and we'll be able to cherish them for years to come.
  
  Blenda and her husband Raymond took the time to walk through the ceremony and reception site with us to prep us for the big day. They've worked with our wedding coordinator and officiant many times before so they knew exactly what to anticipate. Blenda and Raymond gave us really good tips on what to do during the ceremony so our faces weren't so pensive during the ceremony. Nobody wants to look pensive on their wedding day.   Fabulous photographer and woman! Such a pleasure to work with and she truly captured my husband and I in our natural happiness on our wedding day. Our wedding and engagement session were everything we wanted. She was creative with ideas jumping off cliffs and incorporating our horses in the session. She gave great direction making our photos so naturally beautiful on Kauai!

  Blenda Montoro, what can I say, she is simply amazing! We are from Northern California and found her by reading reviews and checking out her website! Besides getting married to my husband, the photos was one of the most important pieces to our weddings. I would day dream what kind of photos she would take for us and she made that vision come true. She was so sweet and professional, I immediately was comfortable with her as well as my husband who is pretty camera shy.
  
  If your having a destination wedding or live in Hawaii she would be a great photographer to work with. She will want to get to know you more over the phone if you are not nearby, which was great, I felt her personality immediately and is very good at explaining what she does and wants to hear your love story. I highly recommend her, and once you see your photos and every time you see your photos at home, you'll fall in love all over :-)

Blenda took the most incredible pictures, captured the moments, and got amazing group shots without letting them look overly-posed. She was so fun and warm, and allowed my camera shy husband to feel comfortable and loosen up in front of the camera. After the group shots, she took my husband and I to some special places in Hanalei, to take more intimate shots. These are my favorite. We are so thrilled by how the photos turned out.   We LOVED Blenda!!! She took the most beautiful photos that truly captured the spirit of our wedding. She knew exactly what we wanted and she delivered. I really liked her overall vibe, too. I felt very secure in her hands, and I just knew the photos would turn out perfectly - and they did!   To me, the most important service in a wedding is the photographer. Photographs last a lifetime, so selecting the right photographer to capture my once-in-a-lifetime moments was crucial.
  
  Words can’t describe how wonderful of a photographer Blenda is. Blenda has a very creative way of capturing the beauty of every single moment - we knew she was the one who was going to bring out the best in our wedding! From the start, Blenda was great to work with - very personable and easy going! She is very professional yet silly and fun and her personality really helped us to loosen up and feel more natural taking pictures! Blenda made me and my husband (and our kids!) feel so comfortable and it was like we knew her for years. She was caring and considerate, creative and attentive. She was very efficient and took the time to talk and email a lot ahead of time so she could deliver just what we wanted. She was very familiar with the island, and knew all the perfect spots for beautiful photos.
  
  Her pictures are phenomenal, especially her ability to capture the colors and lighting to perfection on film! The moments she captured of us and our wedding party were truly magical - straight from a magazine! I love that the photos do not look staged, fake, or cliche - she created lovely images that capture the beauty of our location and the excitement and romance of the wedding day. Because she uses film, the lighting and colors of the photos are more natural and real. It barely takes any editing time afterward because she works hard to get the shots on film during the photo shoot. So we got the photos quick too! We have gotten compliments on our wedding photos like you wouldn't believe; many of my friends and family have told us that they've never seen better wedding photos taken.

  If I can give Blenda more than five stars I would! She was highly recommended to us by a friend and I immediately, absolutely loved her work. She is an amazing photographer and person as well! From our first email to our phone conversations, I felt like I was talking to a longtime friend, she truly made me feel at ease. She has a great soul and infectious smile. Working with her has been a pleasure, she took her time with us and even showed us some of her shots as she took them. Our entire family kept talking about how detailed she was. my husband and I feel truly blessed to have had Blenda. Not only are her photographs beautiful, she is professional, creative, hard working, has phenomenal customer service, exceptional attention to detail, & is an absolute joy to work with.   My parents gave us a photo shoot with Blenda as an engagement gift. Neither my husband nor I had ever met her, & my husband wasn't excited by the prospect of getting professional photos taken. Blenda had great ideas and inspiration for the location, props & theme of the shoot, & worked with our difficult schedules to find the perfect day.
  
  Our engagement shoot was fanastic. Blenda immediately put us both at ease & with her encouragement and direction the process quickly became natural and very enjoyable. By the end of the day my husband admitted that he had actually had fun & we both agreed that there was no one else we'd rather have capture our wedding than Blenda.
  
  When the wedding weekend arrived, Blenda & Raymond were on time, inconspicuous (our guests barely noticed them!), so friendly toward our guests and vendors, & flexible (important as anyone who's gotten married knows plans can change quickly!). They seamlessly & efficiently organized all of the group shots we wanted, & beautifully captured every single moment we could have wished for, & so many more that we never would have thought of but are so grateful to have.

We live in California and traveled to Hawaii for our wedding, Blenda took a lot of time to connect with us by phone and email to get to know us before we met in person for the first time. When we did meet in person, Blenda felt like an old friend and we immediately felt comfortable in her presence. This proved to be so important given that she was responsible for photographing one of our most important and intimate days. We felt completely at ease. She provided great tips and direction in advance of our ceremony to ensure we got the photos we were hoping for. Our photos were delivered within the agreed upon timeline and Blenda even provided some photos in advance so that we could share them with our families at a party.   Blenda did an absolutely amazing job shooting our wedding in Kilauea. We had two photographers at our wedding and our only regret was that we didn't have Blenda around for more of the day taking more pictures - If I'd only known her talents! What a wonderful and warm person to have with us sharing a most special day. Her turnaround time was quick and our CD with the image files was lovely to receive in the mail. I've enjoyed following Blenda's photography of other people's special events because she really does capture people's special moments. I would without a doubt recommend Blenda to everyone and anyone.

  Blenda did an absolutely amazing job shooting our wedding in Kilauea. What a wonderful and warm person to have with us sharing a most special day. Her turnaround time was quick and our CD with the image files was lovely to receive in the mail. I've enjoyed following Blenda's photography of other people's special events because she really does capture people's special moments. I would without a doubt recommend Blenda to everyone and anyone.
