Amazing Summer Wedding at Blue Hill at Stone Barns!

We had an amazing experience having our wedding at Blue Hill at Stone Barns! There are so many amazing aspects to having a wedding here, but here are just a few:

First, the setting is so stunning, from the picturesque farms to the gorgeous stone buildings, it is a perfect blend of natural and manmade beauty.

Next, the food is incredible - obviously since it is ranked among the best restaurants in the world! - but it was really a source of such excitement and anticipation for our guests.

Perhaps most importantly, the wedding staff that guides you for the months before the wedding is impeccable - professional, thorough, and attentive, as were the waitstaff on site on the day of.

Finally, we found that having a wedding at a venue that is also a high-functioning restaurant really simplified the process of planning the wedding - the catering, the rentals, and the parking/valet was all taken care of! All we needed to do was hire a wedding planner, a photographer, and a band!

A little more detail for those who are curious:

We arrived around 3:00 PM for first look and photos. It was a gorgeous summer day and the farm never looked better. There was a small bridal suite (with a shower if needed), where the bride can put on her dress. We had our first look on a shady, winding path through the woods and went out across the farm for couples photos. While we were doing that, our families waited in a comfortable, air-conditioned lounge stocked with drinks and snacks. After family photos in front of the scenic wine cellar, we had our own private space for a ketubah signing, even as guests were being greeted out in the courtyard with lemonade and settling down for the ceremony.

The ceremony took place under an amazing magnolia tree in the courtyard. The weather was a bit hot but most guests were comfortable in the shade. Of note, there were back-up plans in place: a covered verandah in case of drizzle and the indoor Haybarn (where the reception was held) if the event of a total downpour.

After the ceremony, we got to enjoy 15 minutes in the bridal suite to unwind alone together, while our guests made their way to the garden for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. Importantly, Blue Hill made sure that the bridal suite was fully stocked with one of each appetizer, one of each signature cocktail, and two glasses of champagne. We were able to toast our marriage and eat some food before heading out to the garden to join the party.

After the cocktail hour, everyone was guided inside for the reception upstairs in the Hayloft. After a very short dancing set, all three dinner courses were served, interrupted only by speeches to allow the guests to enjoy the food, as recommended by the planners at Blue Hill. The food met and exceeded our expectations - everything was chosen because it was in season, fresh from the farm, paired with excellent wines (there are also two full bars located in the reception hall). After the meal, we danced for the rest of the night, pausing only to cut the cake.

After the reception ended, we had buses to transport our guests to local hotels and back to the city - mainly because Ubers/Lyfts are sparse in that area, especially late at night.

Overall, we were so thrilled and happy with our choice to have our wedding here and could not recommend it more highly!

    Would Highly Recommend

Having our wedding at Blue Hill at Stone Barns was nothing less then spectacular. The staff were all amazing, the venue itself needed little decoration because of how naturally beautiful it is, and the food could not have been more incredible.

Prior to the wedding, Tamar and her team were so responsive, helpful, patient, and accommodating. Any time we sent an email or needed to schedule a call or a walkthrough they were available. During the menu tasting they treated us like royalty and they made the menu completely tailored to our dietary needs (gluten and dairy free) without any issue. The food was unbelievable and we have guests that are still reaching out to rave about how memorable the food was.

This venue and the staff at this location are unlike anywhere else. The natural beauty speaks for itself and the staff are on a mission to make your wedding day the most memorable day of your life. We had the best night of our life having our wedding here and we will be forever grateful to Blue Hill at Stone Barns for making our dream come to life.

We highly recommend to anyone reading this to have their wedding at this venue.

People are still talking about our BlueHill Wedding

This venue is worth every penny, so honesty don't even think twice about booking your wedding here. Especially if you love food, you truly can't get any better than BH. The wedding coordinators here (we had Emily) are so organized - you truly don't even need a planner. Our biggest regret was spending the $ on a planner when BH had us totally covered. The food, the service - the overall experience was magical. If this is on your venue list, trust me - splurge. You won't regret it.

In September of 2015, my now husband and I visited Blue Hill at Stone Barns for dinner with his family. One of the first things I said to him was "I want to get married here" - we weren't even engaged yet!

Blue Hill at Stone Barns is a dream venue. Often times you need to compromise something at the venue, whether that be the food, the service, the location, or even the plan B option if weather does not cooperate. At Blue Hill at Stone Barns, you do not need to compromise a thing. Everything is 5 star and I really am not sure there is any better.

We had our beautiful wedding on September 30,2016. What an amazing wedding. Alanna was absolutely hands on incredible. I cannot say enough about this place. This is the most spectacular place to get married. From the scenery to the food. There is simply no other place like it. Hands down there is no other place to get married except for blue hill on the planet.

There are no words to describe how perfect Blue Hill at Stone Barns was as a wedding venue. It had always been a special place to me and my fiance, as we have had the pleasure of enjoying dinners there for various special occasions in the past, but when we came to planning our wedding we tried to look for somewhere with as much character and charm in the vicinity of Manhattan and every venue always fell short.

Most couples rave about how their wedding day was the best day of their lives, and we are no different, but we know that aside from spending it with our closest friends and family, a large part of how much we enjoyed our day was down to the consummate professionals at Blue Hill. We worked with Sandy Shin and then Michelle Condon in the lead-up to the day, who were both a pleasure to work with; always eager to help and quick to respond to any and all of our questions during the planning stages, with Michelle even taking the initiative to snap iPhone shots of various spaces when we couldn't make a visit in person! On the day, the execution was flawless. I cannot rave enough about the exemplary service and delicious food. No guest's glass was ever empty, nor did anyone struggle to catch the attention of the staff handing out hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour and for days our guests were sending us compliments on the beautiful venue and incredible food.

Yes, the cost of hosting a wedding at Blue Hill at Stone Barns is steep, but if you consider the fact that you don't need to arrange much by the way of decorations, and are saving costs that you would otherwise incur in a less well-equipped venue such as tables, dinnerware, stemware, staffing, large marquee, toilet facilities etc. coupled with the "peace of mind" factor that you are being looked after by experienced professionals then for some, such as myself, it's all very much worth it in the end.

We were married this past August at Blue Hill. What a stunningly beautiful venue! Our guests are still talking about how perfect the event was. Our ceremony was on site, outdoors in the courtyard. There is a large, beautiful tree to get married in front of that has greenery and hydrangeas around it, making for a perfect setting. The cocktail hour can be indoors, lower level hayloft or around the corner in the small vegetable/herb garden. They have pin spot lighting and uplighting already, which is nice. The food service for 4 courses was prompt and efficient. The food itself, with the wine pairing, was amazing. They use what's in season at the time of your wedding, so the ingredients are at their prime. Not to mention most comes from the farm and is organically grown. You do not know your menu until a few weeks before the wedding, but who better to plan your menu than Dan Barber. They are flexible with changes and you can make requests before it is made. The bridal attendant day of is a great addition to the impeccable service they provide. You get refreshments and food to nibble on while you take pictures and relax before the ceremony (we did a first look). The bridal attendant is there as you walk around taking pictures, providing water and even holding your bouquet when needed!! The venue coordinator, Michelle, that we worked with was also extremely responsive and easy to work with. She always emailed us back immediately, as there's always tons of questions that come up as you're planning a wedding!! The only negative of the venue is if you want additional lighting, they require you to use Pegasus, an extremely expensive company. There was no flexibility here and this was disappointing. They also have quite a few rules for vendors and can be strict with this (i.e. musicians couldn't use the elevator to bring equipment upstairs). Overall though, a great venue and highly recommend.

A dream wedding venue with a wonderful events department. Estelle worked with me personally to make the event run as smoothly as possible and it did! I didn't have to fret or take care of anything that day, she took over and eased my nerves.

As for Blue Hill at Stone Barns - amazing food, beautiful scenery and decor, professional, genuinely kind and accommodating staff - it was truly memorable because we had it here.

    Unprofessional and unresponsive

We were excited to have our wedding at Blue Hill after hearing wonderful reviews since great food was a top priority for us. After two months of me chasing down the event manager there, I still did not have a finalized contract. Weeks would go by with no response from them. I had to repeatedly call and email in order to check what the status was. They would miss calls they scheduled with me and there would be no updates on next steps. I eventually gave up. I'm sure if you end up having your wedding there, it will be magical. But I couldn't get past the frustrations of the working relationship.
