    My wedding venue provided the services of Bluewater Weddings and Events due to a big last minute change in plans on their end. Zena and her team ended up providing planning and coordination services and now I'm wondering how we would have pulled off the perfect wedding without them! Zena helped us every step of the last couple months and was there the day of the rehearsal and the wedding to help everything go off without a hitch. I can't say enough good things about Zena-- she's professional but friendly and warm, and just knows everything about weddings in the area. She ended up picking out most if not all of my rentals based on photos I'd shown her and they were wonderful. She also helped figure out a few logistical things that I couldn't quite navigate. Quite honestly we were floored by how great it was to have a wedding planner and coordinator! It even seemed like she was having a nice time at the wedding, even though she was working the whole time. She connected with the wedding party seamlessly. I can't thank my venue enough for linking us up with Zena; she changed the course of wedding planning and helped us achieve the wedding of our dreams. THANK YOU!

    Zena and Bluewater did a fantastic job with our wedding!! Zena was extremely diligent and went beyond the call of duty for us to make our wedding weekend simply perfect. Zena made sure that our three events (reception dinner, wedding and reception, and day after brunch) all went off without a hitch. Whatever bumps in the road did arise were handled by Zena before they became an issue. I would not hesitate in anyway to use Zena’s services and Bluewater properties. Thank you again Zena and Bluewater for a magical and memorable wedding!!

    Thanks to Bluewater and Zena, my husband and I had an absolutely perfect wedding day! Due to the fact that our wedding was the same weekend as tropical storm Anna, Zena had to come up with several different back up plans in case we got rained out, which luckily didn't happen. All of the vendors she recommended were outstanding! Zena did an amazing job coordinating the day of the wedding and I am so glad she was there! The venue, the southern breeze home, was so gorgeous and we had the best vacation while we were there! Thank you so much Bluewater and Zena for making our special day flawless!

    My fiancé and I were lucky enough to have won a sweepstakes where we received the services of Bluewater Weddings and Events. From the moment that we were informed that we had won until the day of the wedding, we received top notch services.

    Zena Underwood, our wedding planner, was extremely professional, knowledgeable, punctual, and kind. My fiancé and I are both from out of town, and extremely busy, so we only had one chance to visit the area while planning the wedding. Because of this, we relied on Zena to refer vendors who would deliver great service. She was so great at listening to our vision of what we wanted for our day and providing us with a list of vendors that met our wants.

    Our wedding day could not have went any better. All of our family and friends have commented on how beautiful everything turned out and how great the food was, etc.... And I have to give credit to Zena with Bluewater Weddings and Events for referring all of the amazing vendors and for ensuring that everything ran smoothly. I highly recommend utilizing Bluewater Weddings and Events for anyone looking to get married or have a nice event in the area!!!!

    My husband and I moved to Emerald Isle a month before we got married! Zena went above and beyond to help me get the BEST photographer, caterer, event lighting, and DJ! We planned our wedding in less then three months which could of been a stressful nightmare, but Zena was answering my questions even through text messages after hours. On the big day Zena was attentive and took care of all the little details so my family and I could just focus on the wedding and not worry about the logistics. I would recommend working with Zena for any future brides because she is upbeat and will go out of her way to make sure your special day is amazing!

    Zena Underwood and her assistant Mel, did a fabulous job coordinating my wedding, setting up, keeping everyone on task, and made my day that much more enjoyable by not having to worry about a thing! The venue was great and well worth it.

    Zena and her assistant Mel did an amazing job. They really made this event EXTRA special. Everything was perfect. We had so much fun with them as well. It was everything I could have hoped for and more. With Zenas help I planned my entire wedding long distance, site unseen and it was absolutely beautiful. 100% satisfaction with these girls.

    Zena and her assistant did an amazing job saving my wedding day. We were hit with a tropical storm and had to relocate the entire wedding. Everything I had planned for our beach wedding at our beautiful rented home had to be moved to The Islander. Zena did an amazing job keeping me calm and informed. She and her team transformed The Islander banquet room into a dream! My husband and I could not have asked for a better planner or a more perfect wedding!

    If I could go back and plan my wedding ceremony and venue again I would do it all the same! Bluewater weddings did an amazing job planning my wedding and it was absolutely perfect! My wedding day was stress free thanks to the wedding planner and her connecting me to wonderful local vendors. I would recommend Bluewater to anyone looking for a simple or extravagant beach/lawn wedding!

    I had my wedding at The Islander in Emerald Isle. The location was perfect! We were right on the beach without actually being on the sand of the beach (we didn't want our elderly grandparents to have to treck through the sand). The outdoor area was right outside of our hotel rooms patio doors on a nice grass area with the beach in the background. After the ceremony we went inside for our reception. The reception room was perfect! A nice sized bar with a stage and small dance floor. Our coordinator, Zena from the Bluewater staff, made the day stress free for me. I didn't have to worry about decorations or the cake or anything else. I told her what I wanted and she made sure it got done. All I had to do was sit back and relax and enjoy the day with my new husband. Thank you so much for making my wedding perfect in every way!!

    Zena and Mel did a great job coordinating the ceremony. The responsiveness was incredible, and none of my other vendors responses so quickly to a call or email. If you want an event planner that eases your worries, go with Bluewater Weddings and Events.

    I got married at the Islander Resort. It was everything I wanted it to be. A beach view on a courtyard. Zena was incredible in my wedding planning processing. She made it so easy from beginning to end. The only flaw I can comment on is with the bartending. There was a lot of miscommunication and I ended up paying way more than I wanted to. I was shocked when there was change of plan without my knowledge. Otherwise, the resort was beautiful and made for a perfect wedding of a lifetime.

    The Islander is a WONDERFUL place to get married! It is a spectacular view for an outdoor ceremony. Our wedding coordinator, Zena Underwood, did a great job working with us. She showed a great deal of professionalism, and I did not have to worry about a thing on my wedding day! It was great! It even rained and she made it seemed like the sun was shining the whole day! Great people, flexible, punctual, and very open minded! She was good about communicating with both my husband and I.

    My wedding was perfect! Everything was just the way I wanted it! Beautiful place ... Gorgeous sand and beach! Recommend it 100% it was the wedding of my dreams!

    Zena rocked out wedding day! She took charge of the rehearsal, the ceremony, and the reception. I simply wouldn't have been able to pull it off without her! Her personal relationships with vendors really helped simplify the process; they knew exactly what they needed to do on the do of, and set to work without any need for my involvement; my husband, my parents, my wedding party, and I got to enjoy the day rather than worrying about logistics. Most of the vendors she recommended were top-notch.

    The wedding itself was beautiful, and everyone had a great time. We had our wedding and reception in the courtyard, and the venue was very accommodating and flexible.

    The package I bought for wedding planning also included consultations before the wedding. Zena really shines as the wedding nears, but we had some trouble getting information and help with the planning process from Zena until the last month or so before the wedding. For the price, we weren't expecting a full-on wedding planned without our involvement, but we were hoping she'd accompany us on some of our meetings with vendors, which she was unable to do.

    We had a beach side wedding on Mother's Day and rented a house for the reception as well. The house and view were amazing, only problem was for a house that cost us over $4,000 for a week, we expected everything to be up and running. We had to call maintenance at least every day if not twice a day. Broken dishwasher, shower heads broken off, dryer broken, sound systems didn't work and were missing pieces, elevators multiple times ( we rented handicap accessible for elderly family members and elevator broke first day and stayed broken the whole week). Missing appliances like toaster and toaster oven, no wifi password in house, had to go to office to get it 2 days later when they reopened, pull out couch was broken and unable to use. Made our wedding week and honeymoon stressful.

    Bluewater provided a beautiful site for wedding & accommodations for out of town guest. The only problem was for the caterer getting their cooker into the beach house. The coordinators kept the bridal party on task.
