Beautiful venue - perfect for our small outdoor wedding!

Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve was our first choice for our wedding venue. We'd both been there before and loved the peaceful, gorgeous surroundings thanks to the abundance of native wildflowers, trees, and wildlife. The meadow was in full bloom during our wedding in early August, so the flowers were spectacular and there were so many butterflies fluttering around. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful location. We're both outdoorsy introverts and wanted a small wedding with a little bit of grace while still feeling connected to nature, and the Preserve delivered exactly that. Definitely recommend!

BHWP created the perfect atmosphere for our boho wedding

My partner and I were so glad we chose Bowmans Hill as our venue. Richard was so great to work with, he was patient and kind and helped guide us though everything we needed. It is a very DIY venue, so be prepared to have a hand in everything you need for the reception. We chose it because it allowed us the freedom to create a truly individual event without feeling like we were at a wedding factory. There were no other weddings that weekend (they only book one a weekend) so we were able to set up the day before, which I highly recommend doing. All our guests couldn't stop talking about how beautiful the venue was and there was so much space for our guests to spread out and relax throughout the event. Plus, we got married in June and the fireflies alone were worth booking the venue. I highly recommend checking Bowman's Hill out.

The James Moore Pavilion at Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve was exactly what we saw when we envisioned our wedding. A rustic setting with wooden beams and communal seating that is open to the outdoors, so we were in as soon as we found the place online. But it just got better and better when we visited and started to mold it into our own space. The grounds are unbeatable for a wedding. Our photographer said there were countless spots on the property, which was open to us and our guests with just our one rental. We've been in weddings where we had to spend hours reaching places to take photos, but at the Wildflower Preserve, we could have our ceremony, reception and photos taken all in one place. The staff there were so flexible to our ideas. Everything we wanted was allowed - frames in the trees, all our catering and bar choices, lights across the top, cricket on the lawn and even a smoking section, which can be a problem for some nature organizations. Our guests explored secret gardens and trails long before we even arrived. We loved that the place had picnic benches, which they offer to move but were exactly what we wanted for our seating. The whole experience was only made better by the staff, especially Liz who was even there on the Saturday we had the wedding to make sure we were all good during set up. Finally, the price of this venue just cannot be beat. We were on a low budget compared to most weddings I've heard about ($10,000) and pretty much all the venues we looked at were impractical on our budget. The Pavilion only costs us $750 for the day, which, once you see the place - you'll be stunned how that's possible. We could honestly go on and on about this space and the staff that help you there, but to save to the novel we'll just say this - visit it once and you'll be sold.

When we found Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve, we knew immediately it was the perfect location for our dream hippie wedding.

We wanted a venue that felt natural and outdoors-y, but not TOO rustic or country feeling. We had been seeing a lot of barns or country estates, both of which were not our style, on separate ends of the spectrum. Bowman's offered us that perfect combination of lush greenery, rustic woods, and classy well-maintained grounds. We were also two brides getting married, so an extra bonus was that the wedding could be held near the always friendly and fun town of New Hope. (o:

We also knew we wanted a DIY-wedding so we could make sure each detail was unique to us. That being said, if you aren't ready for a truly DIY wedding, you may want to look elsewhere or if not, be prepared to spend a good % of your budget on a full scale caterer. Bowman's only offers the physical space - all catering/rentals/ceremony chairs/etc/etc need to be arranged separately. They do have nicely updated bathrooms at the Pavilion area (with rugs/chandeliers) and 14 picnic tables available for use, but all other items would need to be rented.

We had our ceremony and cocktail hour at the nicely manicured "New Pond," which our guests raved about. The lovely landscaping and paths offer just enough polish for a wedding without losing any of the outdoorsy-feel. We added cocktail tables, seating, a tent and bar.

The highlight for us was having our reception at the Captain Moore Pavilion. We had seen many photos of outdoor/rustic weddings where it looked like the entire party happened in a big white tent and that seemed so impersonal. The Pavilion has awesome stone/wood details and a fireplace. We used the provided picnic tables and added vintage furniture stations, lanterns, and lawn games.

The coordinator at Bowman's was also very helpful through the entire set-up process and answered all our many questions.

Bowman's helped us create our perfect day!!!

DIY venue, great for creative couples

If you're looking for a whimsical, beautiful wedding venue in the lovely town of New Hope, PA, I highly recommend you check out Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve. After visiting a few more traditional venues, we loved the flexibility of Bowman's. Lacking the strict rules of other event sites, Bowman's enables you to build a wedding venue that is an authentic reflection of what makes you unique as a couple. In many ways it is a "blank canvas". Depending on the time of year you visit, it can be difficult to envision what your day will look like at the preserve. We visited in the winter, and without the lush greenery and blooms, it took some imagination to picture a summer wedding there. However, I'd recommend simply googling some weddings that have taken place at the preserve, and very quickly you will see the limitless potential. I will mention that bringing in every piece of equipment (tent, chairs, tables, catering ovens, plate/dinnerware, decorations, etc) does get more expensive than we originally planned. Therefore, I recommend getting some quotes for necessary rental equipment prior to making your decision so there are no surprises down the road. An all-inclusive venue may be the better choice for couples who do not have the time and energy to put into planning every detail of their wedding. That said, if you are a creative couple who is ready to put the work in, Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve is a great option. We had amazing feedback from our attendees, and we're thrilled with how the day turned out! Highlight video (Enchant Cinema): https://youtu.be/b0al0a3Wfgc

    Great Wedding Venue!!

Would recommend this venue for a wedding anytime!! We got married at the Pond on a beautiful sunny spring day, and had our reception at the Pavilion. The rustic and wildflower theme was great for our Hindu-western fusion wedding. The venue was very affordable, and flexible. Just know that the planning requires a lot of DIY work. They just give your the land area to use, and that's it. Worth it though! Laurie is the main event coordinator, who is great to work with. Tejon, who is a newer event coordinator, worked with us towards the end of our planning time. Unfortunately, we did not have the most positive time working with him - he was mistaken in a lot of the information he gave us regarding several changes that came up in the last 2 weeks prior to the wedding. He was also very flustered the majority of the time, difficult to get in touch with, relayed wrong information to us several times, and sadly, was very very rude to my mother (mother of the bride) on one occasion. I hope that Bowman's Hill staff can work better as a team and have better communication amongst themselves. The venue is so fantastic that I would not want one staff member or a disorganized team to ruin the experience for anyone else.

Beautiful Wedding Ceremony Venue in Bucks County

This venue was absolutely stunning to have our October wedding ceremony. We got married at the Pond Area which can be a little complicated to get to, but Event Coordinator Becca did a great job helping us prepare and guide our guests about how to get up there and was super accommodating about parking, too. She even took some of our guests up to the location via golf cart and had signs to guide them up to the Pond Area. She even helped the night before to guide everyone up for our rehearsal which was so helpful. The wildflowers and fall foliage made this such a picturesque wedding venue; it also beyond stunning in the spring, too. You do have to order your own chairs (which the logistics of were a little complicated; we ended up hiring two people to set up and break down for us as the space was rented for 3 hours) and pay an event liability insurance, but they do have electrical service for a DJ available up there too. It was all very much so worth it! I highly recommend!

    We are so happy...

We are so happy we chose Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve as our wedding venue for our wedding this past June. We were looking for an outdoor venue that was a combination of casual, fun, whimsical, and beautiful, as well as a tribute to where my husband and I met – New Hope, PA. This checked all our boxes.

Side note - the bathroom issue that previous couples have spoken about has been fixed. I believe they were renovated in late 2021 or early 2022 and they were great for our day :)

Becca, the event coordinator, was so helpful from start to finish. She addressed all our questions and concerns throughout the planning process, was incredibly informative, and so attentive to our guests on the day of the wedding. The use of the golf cart was hugely helpful for some of our older or less mobile guests and was a lifesaver!

We had our cocktail hour in the big front meadow next to the wildflower fields at the bottom, then our reception under the pavilion. Even with our count of 155 guests we were able to fit everyone comfortably under the pavilion, then we had the dance floor setup on the grass at the far end – so when the sun went down, we were dancing under the twinkle lights and stars. It was gorgeous!! Everything we hoped it would be, and more. Thank you Becca and all the team at Bowman’s for helping to make our day so memorable and special. We are so grateful!!

We rented the pavilion for our reception, but you can also rent the pond-side area for a ceremony or reception. We really wanted to be outside, with a covered area (and didn't want to rent a tent) and the pavilion was perfect. The bathrooms are also super nice which was a big deal for our families. We had the picnic tables moved out and rented 14 8' tables and chairs for 115 guests. They all fit well under the pavilion including a buffet table. We also got 200 feet of bistro lights which looked beautiful in the rafters.

Bowman's Hill was, first and foremost, just GORGEOUS. It was a perfect mix of rustic and beautiful for our ceremony (at the pond) and reception (at the pavilion). It's not a venue that most people have heard of, but all of our guests were absolutely blown away by the space. It's definitely a good value in comparison to other spots, but do be aware that extra prices add up on top of the base fees (about $1000 each for pond and pavilion), including parking lot lights, moving picnic tables around, and renting the space for rehearsal the night before. But you really can make this venue into whatever you want it to be -- we hung lanterns from the trees, put out lawn games, high tops in the field space for cocktail hour, and twinkly lights in the pavilion. Plus you get to bring in whatever caterer you want, and could even do your own bar as long as you have a licensed bartender. Liz has a lot on her plate and can be a little slow responding to e-mails, but you can feel good about giving this place your money because it's non-profit! All in all, a beautiful location that we and our guests loved.
