Boxed Wedding Invitations gets 5 stars from me, and it's beyond well deserved. It feels like they were only working with me and no one else with how prompt they were with everything from providing proofs, shipping the final product, and replying to my [many] e-mails.

Adriana was absolutely AMAZING!!!!! When I sent the invitations out, we got phone calls about how pretty they were. We even had people taking them to work to show other people. One friend said that our invitations were the "Best she's ever seen''. I chose the 'Silk Box Wedding Invitation' in ivory wth purple silk ribbon and an exquisite dangling crystal brooch; Adriana was willing to make the changes without any additional charges, most importantly the invitations arrived when she said they would!! The quality of the invitations is wonderful!!!!

What a unique and exquisite store. Boxed Wedding Invitation customized my wedding invitation boxes to match my wedding color - ivory and Imperial Blue. The owner of the store customized the invitations to my liking. When my guests received the invitations they thought they were gifts not wedding invitations. She was very professional and her customer service skills were beyond everything I expected. I was also lucky to be located in the same city so we met up once to explain her my vision.

I am definitely going to refer her beautiful boutique to everyone I know. Thank you for surprising my guests in such unique way!!!

Awful experience, do not recommend. 0/5 stars.

I am writing this review after an AWFUL experience with Boxed Wedding Invitations and Adriana Tacu. This was an experience from Hel*. I will explain from the first day of speaking with her until the last day about my fiance's and my journey with this company and woman.

The first email was sent in early January, she reached out to us about getting on a phone call to discuss our needs for wedding invitations. We asked if we could come in person to see her previous work, or at the very least, do a Zoom/Facetime meeting so at least we can speak face to face and see her products virtually. Well, she was unable to accommodate that, and said that she only does phone calls. (This was the first red flag). On the phone call, we discussed our vision for the invites, pricing, timing, etc...and she said to us: "this will be done in 2-3 months, this is a very simple request that we can accommodate." Great, we think!

She said the next day via email that she will be sending out samples of work that she has done and will be mailing to our house. 18 days went by and we still didn't receive anything in the mail from her. I then emailed back asking if she needed our address again, and to get an update on the samples. She responded saying: "I just got a chance to send it. you should see it in the mail tomorrow. This is certainly not the way I do business." Ok we said, and she must be really busy.

We then had a phone call on February 4th to discuss specific paper types, wording, etc...for our invitations. At the end of the phone call, she said that she would be sending us a mockup of what we discussed, and we should see it via email in a few days. We didn't receive a mock up until March 9th, 35 days later. I guess "a few days" to her is really 35 days.

My fiancee and I looked over the long awaited mock up of our invitation, and made 6 corrections+additions to the mock up. I then didn't hear from her for several days, and wanted to email her asking if we could get on a phone call to discuss. She then called me by my wrong name, and said that we can schedule a time to speak. I then sent her very detailed additions and corrections of items that we discussed on that phone call. She sent another mockup 15 days later, after getting 4 emails from me. In that mockup, there were various errors caused by her, including spelling the word, "receive," wrong. Maybe she never heard the line. "I before e, except after c." Too bad. I also asked if we could receive a sample of our invite before it gets mass printed, to make sure that everything looked good in person. Her response was:

"due to the type of printing that will not be possible unless you pay $300 for the sample. We have to order metal plates to print the invitation as well to set up all the files for the printing/lasercutting."

My fiance and I thought that this was ridiculous, here we were already paying 50% of the original invoice, and now she is asking us to pay more money just to see our invite in person? Ridiculous. We offered to drive to her office in Massachusetts from New York in order to see the paper, quality, and sample in person. She responded by saying that she doesn't do that, and everything was done virtually.

I called her and she actually answered the phone, (which at this stage was a miracle). I pleaded with her to send us a sample, and she finally agreed that she would send us a sample of everything except for our main letterpress invitation. We received the sample a few days later, and requested additional changes to the three card inserts, accomodations, reception, and the RSVP card. She then let me know that it will be an additional $50 to send me another sample, something that was not in the original invoice. I said that I wasn't paying that, and to send us another sample.

We heard from her again a few days later, and I will copy/paste what she said to us, the customer.

"There's a fine line where a job doesn’t make sense for us anymore because the designer keeps making changes on a proof like this. This is non-negotiable."

I was speechless when I read this email from my invitation vendor. Who says that to their client? We tried calling over the next few days, but were sent to voicemail each time. Did she block our numbers or is she just hitting decline every time? She emailed back a couple of days later with the line, "there's no need to get on the phone." WHAT??? Did she just say that? Here we are, paying clients and customers of this woman's business, and we can't even get on the phone and speak. Unbelievable. I think it is rude and poor customer service to purposely ignore our calls and say no need to speak. I wanted to speak and explain the changes verbally as sometimes miscommunications can be lost or misinterpreted through email.

Side note, it is now May, five months into working with Boxed Wedding Invitations, and we still are not satisfied with the various mockups. We went back and forth via email and phone calls from this time in May until July 8th, when we finally received our wedding invitations in total. There were many issues with the main letterpress invitation, the insert cards, and the coloring of the paper. The borders of the insert cards were not even and cut crooked. The gap from the edge of the paper to the black border was not the same distance vertically and horizontally. I would be so embarrassed to send this out to all of our guests. The "letterpress" ink on the main invite was done so poorly that it looked like her machine either ran out of ink, or was done carelessly. The color of the lasercut and the invitations were so far off from each other, it looked like she used the wrong color paper.

I then emailed her asking her to call me as soon as possible. We spoke that same day and I told her many times and specifically what was wrong with the invites and all of the errors that needed to be corrected immediately since we were sending out our invites the next week. Her response was that I were to pay 50% of the total invoice, and that she doesn't work for free. I can understand where she was coming from, but this was done so poorly and there were so many errors caused by her that she should be reprinting it again for free. In order to save time and more errors, I told her to remove the letterpress, since her definition of letterpress is not the same as mine apparently.

We agreed that I would not be paying another cent to her, and that she were to reprint everything the right way with no errors. I didn't hear from her for 6 days and decided to call her to get an update with the new reprint, since time was of the essence. When I went to call her phone, an error message played saying that her mailbox was full. I emailed her asking for her to call me, and again, she said, "I am not available for any more calls." Funny, this was the second time that she told me this in my 7 month experience with her.

To recap, from the first point of contact on January 10th, to July 27th, a process that was supposed to take 2-3 months was actually 6 months and 18 days, or 199 days. There have been 112 emails between us and countless phone calls, both between the two of us or myself leaving voicemails.

I DO NOT recommend ANY couple to work with Boxed Wedding Invitations and Adriana Tacu, as she is the absolute WORST graphic designer/wedding vendor/invitation company that exists. There are many other companies that we inquired about in the beginning that we regret not using and should have. She is extremely rude, condescending, unprofessional, horrendous, and incompetent to name a few. We are using over 10 vendors for our wedding, and no one has treated us or been even 1% as difficult to work with as she has. I am writing this very long and detailed review so that couples in the future do not work with her, and if they choose to, at least you have been warned.

    Do not recommend

I do not recommend Boxed Wedding Invitations as they were by far the worst wedding vendor that I have worked with. I decided to contact this company for my wedding invitations after seeing them tagged on many wedding Instagram pages and seeing their page with almost 30,000 followers. This experience taught me to not believe what you see on social media.

My first interaction with Adriana was over email/phone call in January. We asked if we could come in person to see her previous work, or do a Zoom/Facetime meeting so at least we can speak face to face and see her products virtually, she told me that she handles everything virtually. On the phone call, we discussed our vision for the invites, pricing, timing, etc. My fiancé and I wanted very simple wedding invitations, ivory & white, and compared to the extravagant work shown on the company’s Instagram page, it seemed like it would be a simple project.

Adriana told me that she will be sending out samples of work that she has done and will be mailing to our house. 18 days went by and we still didn't receive anything in the mail from her. I then emailed back asking if she needed our address again, and to get an update on the samples. She responded saying: "I just got a chance to send it. you should see it in the mail tomorrow. This is certainly not the way I do business."

We then had a phone call in early February to discuss specific paper types, wording, etc...for our invitations. At the end of the phone call, she said that she would be sending us a mockup of what we discussed, and we should see it via email in a few days. We didn't receive a mock up until over a month later. Mind you, we had received 2 invoices at this point and paid our bill in FULL before even receiving a single mock up of our invitation.

My fiancee and I looked over the mock up of our invitation, and made various corrections+additions to the mock up. I sent her very detailed additions and corrections of items to make it clear the changes that I wanted to be made. In that mockup, there were various errors caused by her, including spelling the word, "receive," wrong. It was difficult for us to envision the paper weight, letter press, and laser cut design without seeing in person. I asked if we could receive a sample of our invite before it gets mass printed, to make sure that everything looked good in person. Her response was:

"due to the type of printing that will not be possible unless you pay $300 for the sample. We have to order metal plates to print the invitation as well to set up all the files for the printing/lasercutting."

My fiance and I thought that this was ridiculous. She never mentioned any of this in our original invoice and how could we have over 100 invitations printed before we know how they look in person? We offered again to drive to her office in Massachusetts from New York in order to see the paper, quality, and sample in person. She told us that she only works virtually.

My fiancé pleaded with her to send us a sample, and she finally agreed that she would send us a sample of everything except for our main letterpress invitation. We received the sample a few days later, and requested additional changes to the three card inserts, accommodations, reception, and the RSVP card. She then let me know that it will be an additional $50 to make those changes, again something that was not in the original invoice or never disclosed to us.

My fiancé and I were very annoyed at this point, how is she going to ask us to pay more money when the invitation simply isn’t what we like yet? We are paying her to create these for us. She then told us:

"There's a fine line where a job doesn’t make sense for us anymore because the designer keeps making changes on a proof like this. This is non-negotiable."

My fiancé and I each tried calling Adriana over the next few days and we continuously received her voicemail. She emailed back a couple of days later with the line, "there's no need to get on the phone."

I think it is extremely rude and poor customer service to purposely ignore our calls and say no need to speak. I wanted to speak and explain the changes verbally as sometimes miscommunications can be lost or misinterpreted through email.

We finally received our final invitations in early July. There were many issues with the main letterpress invitation, the insert cards, and the coloring of the paper. The borders of the insert cards were all cut crooked. The "letterpress" ink on the main invite looked like the ink was bleeding, making some words difficult to read. The color of the lasercut and the invitations were completely different. I was extremely disappointed at this point because the invitations looked as they were done so carelessly. How is the paper not cut evenly? Is she proud of her work?

I then emailed her asking her to call me as soon as possible. We spoke that same day and I told her many times and specifically what was wrong with the invites and all of the errors that needed to be corrected immediately since we were sending out our invites the next week. Her response was that I were to pay an additional 50% of the total invoice, and that she doesn't work for free. I can understand where she was coming from, but this was done so poorly and there were so many errors caused by her that she should be reprinting it again for free. We had to sacrifice the letterpress because it was done so poorly and opted for digital ink instead. She told us that we could disassemble the invitations and laser cut pockets ourselves to “save money”. Isn’t this her job as the graphic designer?

When I went to call her phone, an error message played saying that her mailbox was full. I emailed her asking for her to call me, and again, she said, "I am not available for any more calls."

We finally received our correct and complete invitations at the end of July. After 7 full months of back and forth, this was by far the worst wedding vendor that I have experienced.
