Kelly Sent on 10/07/2017We ordered our cake last minute...literally less than a week before our wedding. They not only assured us we weren't crazy for doing this, but also told us they have a minimum 48 hour in advance notice to order! We went for the tasting which is so delicious, it was hard to choose the flavors! We opted to do a 2 tier wedding cake as we had 125 guests+donuts+ice cream for dessert. It was a very simple cake with waves, our florist added the florals to the cake and it really made it gorgeous! Of course, it was soooo delicious too. It was not dry at all, everyone who tried the cake absolutely loved it!!
It was such a simple process, and they delivered the cake right on time. -

Jenny Sent on 10/02/2017Butter Lane has meant a lot to me. I went to NYU and these cupcakes have been satisfying my sweet tooth since freshman year. On a whim I contacted them about a wedding cake, not sure they did non-cupcakes, and was thrilled that not only was it possible, but they had plenty of experience doing wedding cakes (they just don't advertise it much!) and the price is... well, I don't want to spoil this for everyone else, but a very reasonable fraction of comparable bakers' quotes. We got a three-tier cake with real sunflowers and a ribbon matching a swatch of my bridesmaids' dresses, plus a sheet cake for 125 guests. My only regret at my wedding is telling our maitre d' we didn't plan on saving the top tier of our cake... but now we can go to Butter Lane and get cupcakes every anniversary, so it worked out just fine! We worked with Lee at Butter Lane. Oh, and bonus: We got the most hilarious cake photos when a guest waiting for the photo booth wearing a panda mask photo bombed us.

Beth Sent on 09/21/2010The cupcakes are superb and the icing flavors are out of this world. We had a PB&J theme (it is a long story...) and they managed to make a cupcake with mostly strawberry icing with a bit of peanut butter on top that was delish! We also had blueberry, pistachio, coconut, chocolate and vanilla icing on cupcakes. Our guests loved them.
Pam, one of the owners, was very nice and gave me and a girlfriend a wonderful tasting experience. She listened to what we had to say, gave ideas and feedback, and was easy to work with. A few times I wish she and another person I worked with in the store Marco were a bit more responsive to emails or phone calls, but I wasn't the greatest either! In the end there was very little hassle involved and I got exactly what I wanted. The cupcakes were beautiful and tasty, and lasted all day in the late summer heat.
