  Beautiful photos!

  We booked Cherlyn for our wedding and engagement photos and she did such an incredible job! The day was supposed to be clear and beautiful for our engagement photos but once we got to the beach - the fog rolled in but the photos ended up being so beautiful and very SF. It couldn't have turned out better! For our wedding, we don't like doing many posed photos and really wanted her to just capture all the moments throughout our wedding and they all turned out amazing! She is so easy to work with and laid back. We're so glad we booked Cherlyn for our wedding!

  Professional, thoughtful, amazing!

  Cherlyn went above and beyond our expectations as our wedding photographer. She was extremely thoughtful, detail-oriented and communicative. After we postponed our wedding due to covid, we are so thankful to have worked with Cherlyn and have her expertise to guide us through a difficult time. She is an experienced photographer and was able to capture the very essence of our day. I highly recommend working with Cherlyn if you are looking for a photographer in the Bay Area.

  AMAZING Photographer

  We met Cherlyn through a friend and we are so glad we got to work with her. Cherlyn is an amazing person and even better photographer. She was so easy to work with, was very responsive and worked with us when we had to change our wedding venue.
  
  We booked our engagement shoot, rehearsal dinner, wedding and photo booth with her. Her use of natural lighting is simply breath taking. Her photos came out absolutely perfect for all events.
  
  She was able to provide our photos is such a timely manner. When we sent out the pictures to our loved ones, they all commented how quickly we received the photos and how beautiful they all turned out!
  
  On the day of the wedding her team was great to work with. It was Cherlyn and Kari and both were so patient with our family and friends. We love Cherlyn and look forward to working with her for future milestone celebrations.

  Beautiful and real

  Cherlyn was amazing. She was so kind and professional and took the most gorgeous photos that looked real and candid, never staged or posed. Excellent for someone looking for more natural, low key but awesome wedding photography.

  best decision we made!

  Loved working with Cherlyn! She was everything we wanted in a wedding photographer and more. She cared about capturing our wedding day but also about us enjoying our day. She helped us get some moments alone in the midst of all the crazy. We would have her again any day :)

  Great City Hall photographer!

  Cherlyn was a perfect choice for our San Francisco wedding! We live about 400 miles away, so planning was a little *extra* stressful. Cherlyn made us feel comfortable from the very first phone call. We flew up and met her for lunch, and I knew she was the photographer for us. I can’t stress enough how comfortable she made us feel. She was so quick to respond to all of my emails. I had my freak out moments, and Cherlyn's "Don't worry, I got this" confidence really saved me (multiple times).
  
  Day of, Cherlyn and her assistant Nikki met me at City Hall and helped coordinate with my husband so we wouldn't see each other before the first look photos. She and Nikki were so efficient that we ended up with enough time to get the family shots done before the ceremony. This left plenty of time post-ceremony to get TONS of beautiful shots all over City Hall. Somehow she managed to make it look like we were the only ones in the entire place! We had rented a trolley to take us and our guests around the city to explore. Nikki herded everyone onto the trolley, they both hopped on, and we got even more amazing candid shots of all of our guests enjoying themselves.
  
  We had such a blast that day and Cherlyn captured all of our adventures perfectly. I can't recommend her more!!

  Look No Further

  Absolutely nailed the pictures. Very aware of lighting, angles/places to be during the ceremony in order to capture those special moments, and a wonderful personality that easily blended into our wedding day. We couldn't be happier and couldn't ask for anything more. Absolutely top notch.

Cherlyn is incredibly talented, experienced and, above all, interested in learning about her couples and how to best capture their story. During each session, Cherlyn made it friendly and easy for us to take photos in a candid and relaxed fashion. She was also very quick in sending us the final photos, while also sharing sneak peeks with us ahead of time. We also loved that she partnered with Six & Ten photo booth and our guests loved having that at the wedding. We highly recommend booking with Cherlyn for your next wedding or photography event.

From our very first meeting (at a bar- cool points for Cherlyn), she was attentive, kind, creative and did everything possible to align our photographs to our vision for the wedding. We met once or twice again leading up the big day to re-confirm details and every meeting was a breeze.
  
  On the actual wedding day, Cherlyn and her assistant Emma were flawless. They captured everything we wanted, took us around a variety of locations at our beautiful venue to take pictures, and got some great "golden hour" sunset shots. While we took lots of pictures, we never felt that we were being taken away from hanging out with friends and family. Cherlyn and Emma were pretty much always in the background, unnoticed, taking shots of our special day.

  I love Cherlyn!

  Cherlyn photographed my wedding this past October and I couldn't have asked for a better photographer. Not only did she take beautiful photos that I'm obsessed with, but she was so helpful throughout the day. She answered all my questions leading up to the day and helped me feel organized.   Cherlyn is a dream. Her communication is excellent throughout planning you never wait for a response. She did our engagement pictures, a budior shoot for me, wedding pics, and another session of portraits for my husband and I. Every single picture is magic. Cannot recommend her enough!

  I was so lucky to meet Cherlyn at a wedding show in San Jose. I wanted to find a photographer who had shot before at my venue, and just my luck she was from Oakland and had previously shot at the Brazilian Room.
  
  I was impressed with Cherlyn's style from the very beginning. She is very easy going and accommodating. She shot our engagement, wedding and even post wedding photos. We had to reschedule our engagement photos and post wedding session due to weather issues. Cherlyn always made time due to my husband's busy work schedule. I was so impressed with how great our engagement photos turned out that we quickly hired her for the wedding. Cherlyn even went to check out the gardens near the venue to find some great shots to take photos with the wedding party. Unfortunately, the day of it poured prompting us to change the schedule and location. Her and Max still shot photos of us in the rain even though they got soaked!
  
  After the wedding, Cherlyn requested that we do another session due to all the rain issues the day of. I was so thankful that took more photos because they turned out gorgeous. Her eye for details are impeccable. I will never forgot the best day of my life thanks to all the amazing shots we have.
  
  I highly recommend budgeting more for a wedding photographer. You can never recreate the day of. There are a lot of vendors out there who are not professional. I have a couple friends who never received their wedding photos and they regret not researching more on their photographers.

She balanced professionalism with warmth and an easy-going attitude with the ability to take charge when needed. This was especially important to us so that we knew we were in good hands and could relax on our wedding day. After we made the easy decision to move forward with her, she remained diligently accessible and responsive. She even helped us find a great videographer at the last minute (Love in Transit Weddings!). One thing I really noticed was how calm she was while shooting our family shots. We had a ton of candids and she knew exactly how to direct my family and capture their good sides! We worked with her second shooter Max as well. The were both great and we felt assured that the day and night would be photographed brilliantly!
  
  After the wedding, Cherlyn was in communication about when our photos would be ready to view! When we accessed our online gallery, we were both thrilled. I was most happy with the family photos and dance floor shots. Our wedding party getting ready candids and time right before the ceremony still strike emotion in me.
  
  My one regret is that we didn't have Cherlyn stay for the entire reception (even the after party!). We didn't plan for a grand exit but one naturally happened and was only captured on grainy cellphone pictures. Wish we had Cherlyn there at the end of the night.
  
  All in all, we really hit the jackpot with Cherlyn. With wedding expenses adding up, it's nice knowing that we had someone who gave us 110% and was super reliable and genuinely cared about us!

  My one regret is that we didn't have Cherlyn stay for the entire reception (even the after party!). We didn't plan for a grand exit but one naturally happened and was only captured on grainy cellphone pictures. Wish we had Cherlyn there at the end of the night.
  
  All in all, we really hit the jackpot with Cherlyn. With wedding expenses adding up, it's nice knowing that we had someone who gave us 110% and was super reliable and genuinely cared about us!

  I was so pleased with our experience with Cherlyn and cannot recommend her enough. She's friendly, super easy to work with, professional - and a great photographer. At our first meeting she explained her style and showed us some of her work, which we liked a lot. For our engagement photos I was a little apprehensive because I'm not that comfortable in front of a camera (especially for a bunch of photos!), but Cherlyn helped me feel natural and it comes across in the end results.
  
  On the wedding day, we had already worked with her to create a timeline and a list of shots we wanted to make sure that she got. Cherlyn and Max started early; they each photographed us getting ready (at different locations). I really treasure the photos she got of me and my bridesmaids getting ready (she got a super cute one of my mom seeing me in my dress for the first time!). At the venue Cherlyn kept everything under control and took our family and bridal party portraits. I'm pretty silly, so she got a few really good portraits of my family goofing around, which I love.
  
  The actual ceremony photos are also wonderful; she got all the details. I love looking at everyone's expressions during the vows. And of course the candids and dancing photos are great, too!
  
  Looking through our portfolio was so cool. It was like reliving the wedding all over again. I loved seeing shots of things that I didn't notice on the big day because I was too busy. Cherlyn did a great job of choosing color or black and white for different photos. I shared the portfolio with our families, and they both want copies of a bunch of photos. :)

  Cherlyn was wonderful, professional and approachable from the moment we met in person to review her style, our preferences, etc. Additionally, she helped us work within our budget. She had a can-do, go-with-the-flow, don't-worry-we've-got-this attitude right from the start. She helped me feel confident and had the perfect combination of both allowing magical wedding moments to happen and directing us when we needed directing. She went above and beyond on the day of. The shots she captured blew our minds. Cherlyn captured light, movement, emotion. We didn't have enough money to film our wedding, but the wedding shots feel as if they cross over into film-like level of graceful and emotional story-telling. Can't recommend her enough.
