    Loved our cake

    Beautiful and delicious! We received many compliments on it. Only complaint was our two flavors (vanilla and apple cider) looked so similar, we could not tell the difference between them!

    Karen was awesome!

    We had a beautiful wedding cake done by Karen! It was just what we imagined it to be, and delicious too!!! She was so great! I changed the design a couple of times and she did it exactly how I hoped for!! Thanks so much again Karen!!

    When booking our reception with the Radisson Rochester Airport we found out that part of the wedding package was a cake provided by Cakes by Karen. The process was so simple and effortless that it seemed too easy. Once my contract was signed with the Radisson I sent an email to Karen and she responded within a couple of hours. Because I was planning a wedding in just about a month I was short on time for tastings, appointment, etc. Karen was extremely accommodating. She let us pick our tasting flavors and had them at the Radisson so that we could do our food tasting and cake tasting on the same night. This was a huge service above and beyond in my eyes and is still greatly appreciated. From the first bite I knew there was nothing to worry about with the cake. AMAZING!! That's all I can say. After the tasting we sent her an email with what flavors we wanted, the approximate number of people, and some photos for inspiration. She came up with a sketch and it was everything we had asked for. The day of came around and when we arrived at the reception to see the room the first thing I noticed was the cake. And it was glorious!! Karen nailed all the little things we had talked about with the design. We received compliments from everyone about the cake and inquiries to who made it. Cakes by Karen was a pleasure to work with!!

    Karen made the most beautiful cake for my wedding on 9/2/17. It was prefect! She helped my fiancé and mutually agree on the design of our cake! I thank her for delivering what we invisioned! We've received many compliments since the wedding, about how beautiful and good tasting the cake was.

    We chose Cakes by Karen and we are glad we did. Our wedding was 05/06/2017 and the cake was amazing! The planning process was easy and thorough. We met and she asked and listened to our ideas and what we wanted for the cake. We ended up choosing a photo of a cake design we liked, the photo was kind of small, but she delivered the design beautifully! The taste was amazing, the designs spot on and she was able to coordinate with our floral shop to get the live flowers on the cake perfectly. We actually didn't see the cake until day of, but it was everything we expected and couldn't ask for more. Definitely recommended! Thank you!

    Cakes by Karen did an amazing job on our wedding cake and groom's cake! We asked for a specific comic book character to be climbing out of the wedding cake and she did a wonderful job with it! The groom's cake, however, stole the show! My husband's birthday was on our wedding day so I wanted to surprise him with a groom's/birthday cake. I asked for a specialty cake in a steampunk motif, with a Victorian hat, gears, and mechanical looking octopus. She absolutely delivered! The metallics were amazing, the hat with goggles looked real and had the most impressive attention to detail, and the octopus was both cool and adorable looking! All of our guests were so impressed with it and all of the cake tasted wonderful too! We also ordered cupcakes, cookies, and cannolis. Cakes by Karen did a wonderful job and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone wanting a specialty cake! She was also very helpful during the whole process.

    We go to cakes by Karen for all our cakes. I'm not a fan of cake and the cakes she makes are the only ones we ever get! A couple times we got the wrong kind of cake but she was very receptive to us letting her know and would make sure when we order again it does not happen. She made our wedding cake with four flavors and they were all amazing! People raved about the cake! She is also super creative and can make your ideas look so real! I will only go to Karen and suggest you do too!

    With a slight hiccup on the wedding day all was set right. It turned out great! Everyone loved the cupcakes that we had for our wedding!

    We choose Cakes by Karen because we wanted a non tradition wedding cake. She was so flexible and was willing to try anything. We wanted a 4 tiered cookie cake as our wedding cake and an Otto the orange syracuse grooms cake. She had never done either of them but they turned out amazing and exactly what I had hoped they would be! Our guests loved both and just raved about the wedding cookie cake. I would definitely recommend her to anyone!

    Karen sat with us for our initial consultation and took our wedding cake dream to heart. We didn't want the traditional, as that wasn't us, and that's why we went to her. She does gorgeous wedding cakes and made ours over the top fabulous. We are avid Bills fans and loved the cake she gave us, from the bottom field tier to the top football tier it was everything we wanted. The cake was delicious to boot and everyone loved it.

    Cakes by Karen did an absolutely fabulous job making my vision come alive. The cupcakes were delicious (and devoured by the guests!) but they were exactly what I had wanted with the colors and all. Our cake was much larger than I anticipated and again was delicious. The bird cage was perfect and helped make our "love bird' theme come true to life. They even made our love bird on the top of the cake extra special by putting a veil on one and a top hat on the other. I highly recommend them!

    As we started planning our wedding, my husband and I had several individuals recommend Cakes by Karen. Cakes by Karen did an AMAZING job on our wedding cake! They had so many great flavors that it was tough choosing which ones we liked best! What I loved is that when we had our meeting, I was pretty specific about what I wanted the cake to look like (I even brought pictures I had found online!) and they did a beautiful job creating the exact cake that I wanted! Not only was the quality great, but the prices were very reasonable (especially considering that we were on a tight budget!) I have already recommended Cakes by Karen to other brides!

    I didn't want the traditional bride's cake, and my husband didn't want the traditional groom's cake. When I told Karen I wanted a purse for the bride's cake, and a twinky and mug of beer for the groom's cake, she didn't blink an eye! She made both cakes, plus three large sheet cakes, for a more than reasonable price. With everything she did, Karen was detailed, professional and generous! All of the cakes came out ridiculously amazing! People are still talking about how amazing the cakes looked and tasted!

    Karen was fantastic! So many of our guests said it was the best wedding cake they've ever tasted! My husband and I absolutely loved how our cake looked and tasted! We are always looking for an excuse to go grab a cannoli cupcake from Karen!

    We did cupcakes and a cutting tier for us. Karen had lots of ideas and incorporated our ideas into it perfectly. Visually, it was beautiful. It was also delicious. When we arrived for cocktail hour it was already set up. She also left boxes at the reception venue for us to take everything back to have food for later. She was wonderful to work with, always prompt with responses and willing to do tastings. Price was great too

    My wedding cake was beautiful. We were able to try her cakes and she drew out a design for us. It was a wonderful cake - delivered on time and set up beautifully. She also made a groomscake for my wedding, in the shape of the Ohio State emblem and it was pretty amazing as well. Would recommend this vendor.

    I was thoroughly impressed with Karen's design of our grooms cake. The only reason she got a 4 was because it was such a difficult cake to ask for. I have seen much of her other work and it is fabulous. We asked for a C130 (military) plane to be made into a cake - surely it was not an easy task. She delieverd to cake to us early in the day and was very professional and excited to take on the task. Pricing was also great! We had a sheet cake under the modeled airplane cake and it only cost us about 350.00 which included the 1 hr drive for delivery. If you are looking for the unique cake design - don't hesitate to ask her. She has SEVERAL unique and traditional cake flavors to choose from.

    Karen did an amazing job. We had 15 wedding cakes that were centerpieces for our weddings. I just gave her some ideas of what I was looking for and let her creative inspiration take over. Everyone complimented on how good the cakes looked and tasted. They were so good i've already orderd a birthday cake.

    Cake Looked Pretty- Once it Showed Up

    We hired Cakes by Karen after absolutely loving our tasting! We picked out two flavors, one for each tier and sent over our inspo photos. Karen was priced great! Our contract was signed for a 2pm delivery, by 3:15 my coordinator was still unable to reach Karen when the cake had still not arrived. When she was finally able to get ahold of her it appeared she totally forgot the wedding was that day but said it was fine since the ceremony didn't start until 4:30 so there was still time. When the cake arrived it was gorgeous and looked exactly like the inspo photos! However, both tiers were the same flavor so that was a disappointment as well.

    Ok, I guess I will say the same thing on this site as I did on The Knot…I did not forget to deliver your cake. That is your assumption. Again, your coordinator was TEXTING A LANDLINE. I even have a voicemail stating it is a landline and not to text. Shame on her for not calling when she didn’t get a response and I would’ve communicated to her I was running behind schedule. I get the ceremony start time on the contract as well because sometimes other delays occur. But indeed it was there. Seeing as you never called directly with these concerns, I find this review insulting and unnecessary. As for the flavors, I put the cake together myself, and maybe you should check with your coordinator, that it was totally served from the kitchen crew. It’s also shameful and tacky of the venue/coordinator to worry you with these details on your wedding day that was clearly her own assumption.

    This was by far the worst experience with wedding cake I have ever had in my entire life. I would not recommend this business to anyone. The cake was so awful no one ate it and we ended up throwing most of it in the garbage

    Mixed up my cake order was suppose to be PURPLE but was WHITE, then when I contacted her about this issue she was extrememly rude, I've ordered many cakes from her previously and to be as rude as she was she definately lost a customer! And will never recommend her to anyone ever again!

    In this particular instance, the contract clearly stated the cake was supposed to be white, which is why we ask everyone to READ and sign a contract upon booking. We cannot be responsible if contracts are not read over carefully.
