My fiance and I hired Maggie for our wedding cake. We had a relatively simple fondant, 3-tier round cake with 120 servings (I think; which is the minimum), and another 150 servings or so of sheet cake. She's friendly and gave us a great assortment of flavors and fillings during the tasting.. we were blown away by how great it all tasted, and ended up paying extra so we could have 3 flavors (almond cake with cherry compote and cream cheese icing, black russian cake with blueberry compote and vanilla whipped cream, and coconut cake with roasted pineapple french meringue buttercream) instead of our original plan of 1-2 flavors.. and also getting more servings than she recommended because we were sure our guests would want at least 2 slices each!.. and we wouldn't mind taking home some leftovers. We also made a special request to make all the cakes as moist as the Black Russian cake during the tasting.. unfortunately, all the wedding cakes seemed quite a bit drier than during the tasting, which my husband and I found disappointing, but our guests still loved the cakes! Also unfortunately (but no fault of Maggie's), our caterer ran an hour late and our schedule ran so behind that most of our guests left by the time we cut the cake. We ended up with about 200 servings of cake leftover! Good thing we bought takeout containers, so our servers packed sheet cake into the containers and we forced the remaining guests to take them home (which they did, happily), and we took home the entire 3-tiered cake! My husband and I weren't planning to save the top tier in the freezer, but we ended up putting it in the freezer since we had so much cake to go through--ended up giving away most of it to family and coworkers.
