  My fiancé and I had been together for a little over 9 years when we finally got engaged in February 2016. Not wanting to waste any time we started thinking of places to hold the big event. Trying to think of somewhere special to us, that we can go back to again and again, we came up with a few ideas. Because we were working on a time crunch, we were so afraid places would be booked already for our day. We took a shot at our first choice and contacted Calvert Marine Museum to see if it was even a possibility. The museum was one of the first place we went together when we first started dating, and have continued visiting over the years! Megan immediately responded that our date was open, and welcomed me to the museum to look around, discuss details, etc.
  From the first email conversation, Megan was the most responsive, helpful and professional person I dealt with throughout my whole 6 months of wedding planning. The day of the wedding the museum staff was so helpful & accommodating in every way! It was the smoothest experience of any event I've ever been involved in, which is good because it was the most important.
  Our day was absolutely perfect, the setting was gorgeous, and above all the museum is somewhere we can return with our family in the future to remember how special our day was.

  The staff of Calvert marine museum were fantastic and friendly! Megan helped us to plan our wedding ceremony and reception at the cove point lighthouse. We have gotten so many compliments on our venue! The property was beautiful and laid out perfectly for a combined ceremony and reception location. We also had our entire wedding party stay with us in the keepers cottage and its was so wonderful! The house was spacious and comfortable and we all had a great time. The lighthouse is a photographers dream. Get married here and you won't regret it!

  The Calvert Marine Museum is a great place to have a wedding reception! The Museum recently began hosting events in the renovated Harms Gallery, which opens up into the reception area to create a unique venue in Solomons Island. The Facility and Events Coordinator and Museum staff were wonderful to work with, and helped everything run smoothly. Our out-of-town guests enjoyed being able to wander through the Museum and learn some local history.

We had the lighthouse keepers house from Wednesday evening through Sunday morning, so we did our own set-up and clean-up.
