Camp Sky Ranch was the perfect venue for our wedding. The open air chapel is gorgeous and the natural beauty of the area is so relaxing and calming. The perfect place for our wedding! Jack and Lori made sure that everything was in perfect condition for the day of the wedding. We were amazed at the upgrades they were constantly adding to the venue during the off-season. They added many upgrades prior to our wedding and we loved them! Jack and Lori were so easy to work with, very laid back, and you can tell that they really take pride in what they do and the services they provide. While many of the wedding held here have the more "rustic" flair, ours was more geared toward "rustic elegance" and Camp Sky Ranch accommodates both styles beautifully. We would definitely recommend this venue! You really have to see this place in person to understand the natural beauty.

We had our wedding in October, a bit cold but beautiful as can be with the fall foliage. If you're looking for rustic and a nature-inspired venue, Camp Sky Ranch is the place. The trees make for a phenomenal backdrop in formal photos. The venue could use some TLC, but if you're going for rustic, its perfect. We decorated with wild flowers from Shady Grove and had some G30 lights. It was perfect.

We're from Brooklyn and were nervous that the space wasn't going to be formal enough, but it was gorgeous. Jack and Lori were fine, but the real gems were Wendy and Ken from the Gamekeeper. They went above and beyond to make our food and spirits perfect! Each guest I spoke to at the wedding complimented us on the food, over and over again.

We're vegetarians and even though they specialize in meat, the food was gourmet. Their pumpkin bisque soup was to die for! And the cake, was so beautiful. So happy we chose the Gamekeeper at CSR.

I cannot begin to write enough positive things about Lori, Jack and Camp Sky Ranch Events! We had our wedding and reception there on June 16, 2012 and it was amazing. Jack and Lori (owners) are awesome to work with as they are very flexible, laid back, and professional. We were planning a wedding from 4 hours away and they really made our planning process less stressful! Any questions that I had they were able to answer in a very quick manner. The venue is a rustic venue; however, the grounds and facilities are kept up amazingly well--it is very clear how much the property means to them. One of the reasons that we chose Camp Sky Ranch was the flexibility that the property offered. We wanted an outdoor wedding; however, Boone weather can be unpredictable and we were concerned about rain. The great thing about Camp Sky Ranch is they have an open air chapel (it is so pretty), a large lawn (with a small pond) and a charming dining facility. In this way, we were able to take advantage of both the GORGEOUS outdoor mountain setting while also having the security of a dining hall for the reception. I would highly recommend this venue for anyone looking at a wedding in the Boone/Blowing Rock area--you will not be disappointed!

My wedding was May 27th, 2012 and I could not have been happier with my experience at Camp Sky Ranch. I was fortunate enough to work at CSR when it was a camp for individuals with disabilities and always dreamed of getting married there. Lucky for me and so many other brides, Jack and Lori have poured their heart and soul into this place. From the picturesque open-air chapel to the lake and rustic dining hall with stone fireplace, this venue is perfect!

    Some major selling points include:

    1) It is the most beautiful and unique wedding venue around. My guests were amazed.

    2) My wedding pictures were stunning. There are scenic bridges overlooking a creek, a lake with a dock, beautiful trees, flowers, rocks, and rustic buildings. It is a photographer's dream.

    3) I got plenty of set-up and break-down time. There was no other event the weekend of my wedding, so I was able to start setting up on Friday for my Sunday wedding and wasn't required to have the place cleaned up until the next day. I know some other venues are wedding factories where you only get a few hours before and after your ceremony, so this was a huge selling point!

    4) It is completely private.

    5) The cost is very reasonable and there were no surprises.

    6) I didn't have to break the bank on rentals because most of the necessary items were already there and available for use free of charge: tables, chairs, benches. There is also a kitchen on-site.

    7) Dealing with a small, family-run business makes the whole experience more personal. The camp has been family-owned for over 60 years and when you call, you will talk to Jack or Lori personally. Jack and Lori are friendly, communicative, and genuinely care about the events they host. This place isn't just work for them, it is their home and they take immaculate care of it. They were open to suggestions and fulfilled all of my requests. I was planning my wedding from Florida, so they were always accommodating and flexible with meeting times. Jack and Lori are professional and always responded to emails/phone calls in a timely manner. They are a pleasure to work with.

This place is amazing. You have to see it to truly understand it's beauty. I had my dream wedding at Camp Sky Ranch and can't recommend it more highly.

We used Camp Sky Ranch for my son's wedding rehearsal party. It proved to be the perfect setting for his mountain wedding theme.
We had around 95 people attend the "Blue Grass and BBQ" event. The building with its free standing stone fire place and exposed beam ceiling was just a wonderful back drop. I used lots of local in season flowers from the farmers market, linens and china, a hundred or more mason jars of varying sizes with tea candles in them. I had lanterns as well to cast a romantic glow. I had Gamekeeper cater the event. Could not be happier with their menu and presentation. They were wonderful to work with. Highly recommend both Camp Sky Ranch and Gamekeepers.
    It was a perfect evening.

We had our dream rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony, and reception at Camp Sky Ranch! Nestled down in the valley between mountains and by the creek, it is the perfect private mountain wedding setting! The cool mountain air made it possible for an outdoor August wedding. We had our rehearsal dinner in the dinning hall, and our ceremony of about 145 people at the cute and rustic open air chapel. We had our reception in a big tent in the middle of the field, facing the lake/pond and dock. It was absolutely beautiful. The folks at Camp Sky Ranch are great to work with and make the wedding planning process stress-free and fun. Everything at the camp is rustic down to the bathrooms and bridal cabin, so it made for great photos! We would highly recommend Camp Sky Ranch to any future Bride and Grooms!!!

I can not begin to say enough positive things about Camp Sky Ranch Events. We had our wedding and reception here and it was simply perfect. All of our guests continue to comment on how unique and wonderful it was. We were blessed with perfect mountain weather and the venue just beamed. Jack and Lori keep the property at its best. Everything from the bridal cabin to the pond was pristine. It is truly a one of a kind place for a wedding and my husband and I never came across anything that was remotely as beautiful as Camp Sky in our search for our wedding venue. Jack and Lori do not run a "wedding factory" and you will be treated as if you are the only people on the property that day. I can not begin to recommend this place enough if you are looking for a one of a kind and stunning mountain venue for your wedding.

We had a perfect, rustic, mountain wedding and reception at CSR. We used the chapel and the dining hall for 100 guests and had Gamekeeper cater with BBQ and fixins. It was, unexpectedly, extremely cold and there is no heat in the dining hall so it made for some difficult obstacles. We managed to rent a propane heater at the last minute to help some. Hopefully CSR can fix the fireplace in the dining hall for the fall chilly events and added ambiance. CSR and GK were the easiest to work with and made the entire event more enjoyable. They are professional, yet laid back and flexible. We decorated the venue with local grown wildflowers, mason jars, quilts, burlap, etc. which fit the venue beautifully.

Camp Sky Ranch was great! Lori and Jack are such sweet people, and their facilities are gorgeous. We had so much flexibility to do what we wanted with the property and really make it our own for the wedding! They worked with us day of when it was raining and we were having issues with set up, and overall, the experience there was great!

If I had not signed a binding contract I would have changed my venue. It is a beautiful venue but we could have found a different venue for the same price and not been restricted by so many stipulations that were not clear when the contract was signed, and questions did not arise concerning the stipulations until only months before the wedding. We paid to rent the kitchen from the Gamekeeper for the day...and we could not even use it AT ALL! My understanding now is that if you don't want to use the Gamekeeper to cater your wedding then you can not use the venue. It would have cost me over $10,000 to have the Gamekeeper cater my wedding- NOT FLEXIBLE AT ALL WITH CATERING! We were also displeased that when we signed our contract the venue had not built their zip line tours. During the wedding rehearsal all we could hear were people on the zipline screaming at the top of their lungs! Not to mention that the parking at the venue is non-existsent. Good luck parking 15 cars! They want you to shuttle people in...its not like there is a huge parking lot right down the road or anything! We are in the middle of the Blue Ridge Parkway! When we signed the contract they told us that they would direct people where to park the day of the wedding, and then 2 weeks before the wedding told us that we needed to let them know who we had put in charge of parking- Un-needed stress! I could not find anyone to park people in that short of notice! Jack was very nice and seemed like he genuinely wanted us to have a nice wedding and actually cared about us. His wife, Lori, was not so nice. She acted like running a wedding venue was the last thing that she ever wanted to do and was miserable doing it- She seemed to always have an attitude. The venue is nice as long as your willing to take on the burden of a TON of un-needed stress and deal with people with poor attitudes! In my experience, the bullcrap that came along with using this venue was the last thing I needed!

I called the number on the website 8 days ago to ask about available dates for June 2017. There were no hours listed that indicated when it was ok to contact them, so I went ahead and called at 8:25 pm, figuring that I could leave a voicemail. A man answered and when I said I was inquiring about availability, he rudely said "well considering it's 8:30 at night, and we are trying to get our kids in bed, I don't have that right now". I apologized profusely for bothering him, and he abruptly took my name and number and said he'd call me back the next day. I apologized yet again for inconveniencing him. Still haven't heard from him.
