Best cake ever!
Lauren was so easy to work with, my husband & I had different visions for our wedding, Lauren gave us amazing suggestions to get us both what we wanted. We were thrilled with the outcome and everyone raved about the cake. It was delicious, beautiful & the flavor combinations she recommended were perfect. -

Lauren was just AMAZING to work with, from the very beginning! She was always quick to respond and made us feel like we were her only client. Lauren really listened to us and helped create a beautiful cake that really reflected the sparkly, glam cake we had in mind. Best of all? Lauren’s cake tested as good as it looked! We had the most amazing dark chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and raspberry buttercream, and my husband loved his layers with cookie dough buttercream! Lauren worked well with our wedding planner and florist, and she delivered our cake on time despite the snow and a long drive! Lauren made our wedding cake a dream come true and we can’t begin to thank her enough! -

Canela Bakeshop , in my opinion there is no one better! Lauren manages to create edible art. My wife and I had seen her work and were continually impressed by her artistry reflected in her cakes. When we set up a cake tasting, we were offered a variety of cake flavors, fillings and frostings. Lauren took this time to find out about our love story and any elements that we liked should we want to include them in the cake design. We felt as though she was invested in creating a cake that we would love.
Lauren delivered a mockup of the cake before its creation, discussed serving size, and incorporated floral details with our florist. The result was a cake that was awe inspiring. The only thing that may have surpassed it's beauty was how delectable it was. We chose a lemon meringue cake with lemon curd, blueberry preserves and buttercream. We (and our guests) could not have been happier.
Thank you Canela Bakeshop for creating memories we will cherish for a lifetime. The Connelly Family highly recommends! -

Delicious work of art
We highly recommend Lauren and Canela Bakeshop. The cake was one of our favorite parts of the wedding day. Lauren designed the most beautiful cake for our wedding and she even delivered it and styled the cake table for us! It was just like we wanted only better. I'm not sure how she accomplished creating such a beautiful work of art AND it being delicious but she did it! It was a thing of beauty and pulled the style of our wedding together.
We loved everything about it. Thank you so much! -

Cannot POSSIBLY recommend someone more highly than I would Canela Bakeshop! From start to finish, Lauren went above and beyond to create both the cake and experience of our dreams. We received an absolutely divine “tasting kit,” consisting of various cake types and numerous fillings/icings, and everything was so delicious it was nearly impossible to choose! We ended up picking the brown sugar cake with raspberry buttercream (I know… sounds odd but just trust me, it was amazing). Lauren was in constant contact with us through the process, asked all the right questions, shared her visions while incorporating our own perfectly. She is the perfect combo of both a talented artist and an amazing baker… and also the kindest, easiest person to work with for your big day! Our guests are still raving about what an amazing job she did! -

Lauren was absolutely fabulous. From overseas, I frantically looked for a local vendor to coordinate with the bride and her mother who also lived out of the area. Lauren worked through flavors and colors with the bride and her mother and finalized the design virtually. She quite masterfully coordinated amongst several interested family members. The final gorgeous and scrumptious cake was delivered on time, decorated with flowers on-site, and provided a beautiful display next to the happy couple. Thank you, Lauren!Canela Bakeshop's reply:

Amazing Wedding Cake!
I wish we could give Canela more than 5 stars! Anyone knows planning a wedding in the last 2 years has been rough, but working with Canela was a dream! We sent a vague design concept of “Hungarian style embroidery” and a few non-cake pictures as inspiration and got a cake more beautiful than we ever imagined. Lauren 100% understood the assignment and used a technique to make the piping look like embroidery texture - it was ALMOST too beautiful to cut up and eat. We loved being able to pick up a tasting box for cake flavors and that it was set up so that you could mix and match your flavor choices to create something custom. Everything about this process gave us a cake that was 100% us. Our guests are still talking about how good the cake tasted and how beautiful and uniquely it was designed.Canela Bakeshop's reply:

Planning a wedding in 2020 had its challenges, but Lauren at Canela Bakeshop made the process so incredibly easy. We worked with Lauren to create the perfect cake for our scaled-down celebration. Working from our simple mood board, Lauren was able to sketch and create a masculine, industrial, and modern cake that blended in seamlessly with our reception decor. We weren't able to do an in-person tasting, so we relied on Lauren for guidance on flavor combinations. The cake was as delicious as it was beautiful. We were lucky to have a few slices left over, so we were able to enjoy and savor it for a couple days after the wedding. We're so happy that we were able to work with Lauren—the cake was one of the highlights of our wedding day.Canela Bakeshop's reply:

Artwork that tastes Delicious
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Canela Bakeshop! As every bride and groom can attest to in 2020, planning a wedding this year was anything but easy. However, everything involving our wedding cake went perfectly! Working with Lauren was truly wonderful. She is extremely responsive, and really listens to her clients to create the vision that you are looking for. She's truly an artist! Not to mention, her cakes are SO delicious! After our tasting (which was so fun), we fell so in love with her cakes that we asked her to make us one for our wedding shower too! If you book with Canela Bakeshop, you will not regret it!! Lauren is the best! :) -

Canela Bakeshop’s icing is like no others! It’s amazing and everyone at our wedding commented on it. Lauren designed and executed a beautiful cake that matched our wedding perfectly. I’m so happy we found Lauren and her Bakeshop, she’s so kind and easy to work with. I told my husband I want my birthday cake to be from here and we plan on ordering an anniversary cake as well. -

Beautiful & Delicious!
Lauren was a dream to work with from start to finish. We were too busy for an in-person cake tasting, so she made us a to-go tasting kit! We sent her inspiration and ideas for how we wanted our cake to look - and she absolutely went above and beyond and created a beautiful piece of artwork that perfectly fit with our theme. She also made sure the cake would hold up on an hour and half car ride to the reception site! She is responsive to emails and questions and you can tell she is truly passionate about her work. She puts so much care into every detail. We had full confidence that the cake would be both stunning and delicious - and it was. We are so thankful to have found Lauren and Canela Bakeshop! -

5 stars from start to finish!
We met Lauren at The Handpicked Event in Cleveland after I thoroughly stalked her Instagram and found the photo of a 3 tiered cake with pink and red roses and frosting brush strokes. I think I was sold at that moment, but actually meeting and working with her, she was just as incredible as her craft. We arrived at her beautiful home for our tasting, and her presentation was on point with the way she had slices of cake and frosting laid out for us. We ultimately decided on a vanilla bean cheesecake and the almond cake with raspberry buttercream between layers and vanilla buttercream on top... absolutely delicious. When I saw the cakes on our wedding day, I was simply in awe. Lauren 100% executed on our vision, we received many compliments on how delicious they were, and we could not thank her enough. She KILLED it! Highly recommend. -
