  The cake looked great when on display. However, the best aspect was that the cake (multiple layers of chocolate and lemon with raspberry) tasted great. We received many positive compliments. Our regret is that we did not order a slightly larger cake so we could have had a slice of each flavor.

  Our wedding cake from Capitol Sweets was spectacular! Alissa and Amy were able to recreate a rather unusual cake that I had seen online--and it came out perfectly. Two tiers were lemon with raspberry jam, and vanilla frosting---the other tier was buttermilk chocolate with fresh raspberries and white chocolate frosting. Capitol Sweets uses French buttercream frosting--which is absolutely spectacular! Many of our guests reporting grabbing a piece of each because the cake was so good!
  
  Capitol Sweets was very responsive and professional. The tasting was scheduled for a time and place that was convenient for us--which I really appreciated. Prior to the tasting, we discussed our cake primarily by email, and they responded quickly. Our cake was delivered on time to the venue, and looked perfect. Capitol Sweets did an excellent job of keeping us within our budget--which was very important to me. For example, the outside of our cake could have been executed with either white chocolate or ganache--they priced out both options and discussed the merits and drawbacks of each. They were very flexible with the recipes and offered to alter the lemon cake to make it more or less lemony depending on our taste.

  We are so glad our caterer recommended Capitol Sweets to us, because we would never have known about them otherwise! Alissa and Amy were very responsive to our ideas and executed them perfectly. They were also flexible enough to meet at my husband's workplace for a lunchtime cake tasting-- they really went the extra mile to accommodate our busy schedules. We ordered a vanilla cake with cannoli filling and buttercream icing, as well as a gluten-free carrot cake with cream cheese icing. Both were delicious, and decorated exactly as we'd pictured! I'd order from Capitol Sweets again in a heartbeat.

  Amy and Allissa are AWESOME! They are super sweet and incredibly talented pastry chefs. They totally got my vision for the look of the cake (light pink ombre) and nailed the taste we were going for (Nutella cake but not super sweet buttercream frosting). They also did an incredible job decorating the cake with fresh floewrs - it came out soooo pretty! Thanks ladies!
