Absolutely love the venue and recommend anyone looking to get married by the beach

I really loved her flexibility, helping me and my girls get ready as well as keeping tabs on the grooms men group. This was important because we were taking photos at sunset before the reception so the timing had to be just right. My guests loved how easy it was for them to find table during our dinner, seats were assigned so I was nervous about how smoothly that'd go knowing my stubborn family. She handled everything amazingly. I appreciated all the hard work.

Sherrie and her team at Casa Mariposa are absolutely amazing! They made my dream day come true. They are so knowledgable and helpful through the entire process. Sherrie's amazing eye for decorating created my dream wedding venue. The vendors are top notch! 9 months later, and our friends still come and tell us how amazing our wedding was at Casa Mariposa! It is such a fun place with wonderful people!

Over all very satisfied with the venue and the girl power staff! Sherrie, Chelsea, and Becky are amazing souls to work with. They went above and beyond. My wedding couldn't been so smooth without their help. Our wedding theme was Lord of the Rings, these ladies made our wedding dream come true! My husband and I are very pleased. Thank you a million for everything.

Casa Mariposa is a beautiful and unique venue in the heart of SPI. It is the perfect for location for a glamourous Mexican themed wedding. Casa Mariposa has so much character and personality that speaks for itself. All our guests were blown away!!

If you are planning an intimate beach ceremony with a beautiful reception venue this is the place for you! It is so romantic and perfectly decorated that there is no need to further decorate. The staff is incredibly responsive and helpful! truly the best place. I 100% RECOMMEND!! JUST GORGEOUS!

The venue is beautiful and gives an essence of beauty when lit up at night. The Wedding Planner , Sherrie Gomez was able to turn a sticky situation of possible rain around us , into a beautiful wedding with all attendees having a great time and everything working out just Great!!!!. The Officiant, Jeff George , was so personable and kept everything at ease through the ceremony. Sherrie , team also was a great help in keeping everything flowing.

Very satisfied with my wedding day- of coordination and wedding planning. Sherry and Chelsea were awesome. I had the most contact with Chelsea and she was definetly the best wedding planner I worked with throughout my wedding planning, as I worked with a couple prior to her. I knew exactly what I wanted for my wedding day and Sherry and her team nailed it! The venue looked beautiful, decorated in a Vintage/Simple Elegance theme. I am still getting compliments about my wedding and some have even said it was the best wedding they have ever been to. The only suggestion I would have would be to have a bit more communication throughout the process. Sherry and her team are very knowledgable about what they do, but as a bride I was freaking out about the details and a bit more reasurrance would have been welcomed. But overall it was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for making my dream wedding come to life.

Went there for potential wedding venue.

The venue was amazing. The spanish villa feel really was very attractive. We met with the owner and organizer to get an idea of what they hd to offer and what we wanted. The venue again was beautiful. The staff gave many ideas of what could be done. Not a bad experience overall. Now the bad...

The owner was a not very professional. I understand the laid back atmosphere but she was a little too laid back for me. It is South Padre though. Some of the features were very overpriced. She kept pushing us to do a “taquiza” which is pretty much a very expensive taco party. I was looking for something a little more formal then tacos. If you wanted to go with a vendor, the price shot through the roof in comparison to other venues we visited. Then we “had” to sign for flower package. We are talking a few arrangements at the bride/grooms table and some accents here and there. Super basic, and this was going to run upwards of 3 grand. When i suggested that we could do the flowers ourselves she said she would only allow it if it was through her vendor. This is were she lost me. I understand the hands off feel of the day. My bride and I show up and not have to worry about anything but this venue owner wanted to have complete control of too much and for too money money. At the end of the day it just wasnt a good fit. Again, beautiful venue, people and venue features are what made us go with something else.

A most amazing and beautiful place, truly feels like a destination wedding without having to leave the Rio Grande Valley. However, customer service and quality is something to be concerned with. When working in the business of once-in-a-lifetime moments you would expect people to have a bit higher quality of customer service.

Prior to booking the venue the wedding event coordinator at the time had told us that there is a villa attached to the venue that can be used by the wedding party over-night. It was honestly a key selling point for us because we had family from out of state and it would help accommodate them. A few months after paying our deposit we were told that the villa might not be available due to the fact that property owner was potentially putting it up for sale.

After expressing our concerns and meeting with the property owner in person the discussions got quite emotional seeing as how we had already invested a huge portion of money into this venue. We weren't given a reassurance that the villa would be available for our wedding date and when we asked if there was any kind of way they could credit us or charge us less for other services we were met with opposition because the Villa "wasn't listed among items we were paying for and was merely a courtesy" to which I asked, "Then why are you using it as a hook to lure in customers?" Lesson learned. Also it should be noted that the Venue is an all-inclusive deal - the contract you sign specifically states you can only work with their approved vendors for almost literally everything except music.

Also, we had about 2 different wedding coordinators when working with them as one had left the business during the year we were planning on our wedding. Which we have no problem with that but they didn't leave anything behind for the 2nd planner to pick up where we left off. So we had to start over a second time in picking out our colors and what decorations we wanted. It was just poor management really.

On the day of our wedding the event coordinator wasn't even there and left her assistant in charge, something that we weren't told until the morning of. A cold front had also kicked in that day and they had no plan to get heat lamps until my wife yelled at them on the phone. The heat lamps they gave us didn't have enough oil and some went out mid-way through the night.

Honestly, after the whole Villa fiasco we had a bitter taste in our mouth but didn't leave because we already had so much money wrapped up in it and we would have lost a lot of it. We felt like just the average customer with this venue, and if that's what you're going for, then go for it. I'll end with what I said at the beginning, if you are in the business of building once-in-a-lifetime moments, special care, attention, and concern should be given to all clients.
