    Wonderful and helpful

    We chose Cascades for our daughters wedding because of the beautiful country like setting. The price was very reasonable compared to other venues. We loved the bridal suite and grooms. The staff was very helpful and courteous.

    Our special day couldn't have turned out more perfect without the hard work you all put into this beautiful venue. We would like to thank you again for all the help we enquired about booking our wedding , until it was time to say "I do"! Nothing was ever too much to ask and our questions were answered within the hour. We couldn't have asked for a more elegant venue and such an amazing day. Each amenity is created so beautifully for any audience. Cascades exceeded all our expectations of how the venue looked the day of our wedding, and how the day came together so peacefully. Thank you again for the most perfect day.

    The owner is a terror

    My brother got married at this venue this weekend. The location and the amenities are perfect. However the owner is horrible. She was extremely rude and unprofessional during the rehearsal as well as the wedding. She micromanaged the catering company and nitpicked everything they were doing. She is apparently living on premises and even during the ceremony had her little dogs out walking around. She was rude to her workers as well. Calling them volunteers and not even addressing them by name. If you do book this location I suggest you set clear boundaries with Melinda the owner and be prepared for her antics.

    Beautiful Venue disappointing experience with Owner

    My daughter got married at this venue this past weekend. The setting was absolutely beautiful and the outcome was wonderful. The workers at the venue were beyond helpful and I am sure are not compensated enough for what their jobs entail. Weddings are a time of high emotions and stress but obviously worth it all! I say all that to say this...the owner was very unprofessional and extremely rude. She spoke to me and our family as well as a worker very rudely. I will not go into all the details but it basically stemmed from a simple question and she went ballistic... As an employer and a provider of service to the public (especially in this setting) this was simply not acceptable. We as the customer, who pay for the service, and, as well as, her employees, who make it happen, are who keep her in business. It tells allot about a person who speaks to their employees in this manner as well as paying customers. Although the wedding could not have turned out anymore beautifully, her behavior was simply unacceptable. I would and cannot recommend this venue but if you do book this location I would suggest in depth discussions with the owner beforehand!!!

    Im Melinda Ritz, the owner of Cascades and I do take full responsibility for the managment of my place and the excellent services we provide. Im sorry this Mother of the Bride was upset. but what she has failed to state is that she called to ask if she could move my large 12 foot trailer using their vehicle to do so. The answer was no, Im sorry, I could not allow this for liability reasons, but also, that this request was two hours prior to ceremony time and one hour prior to guest arrivals and in the middle of staff protocols in order to keep our schedule. I know this is not the answer she wanted to hear, but I also tried to explain, that at any point from when the contract was signed in November of 2023 to the time the bride came out and did a site visit, and even up until the week prior to her wedding date, that would have been a better time to mention the moving of the trailer so I would have been able to accomodate this for them and I would have done it. Not one hour prior to the event. Im sure this did not go over well and she was frustrated to hear "no". Additionally, Its not fair to claim she knows that my staff is underpaid and Im a horrible boss. If that were the case, Im sure my staff would not show up week after week and year after year. Its not the management, its the clients sometimes. And if this woman thinks that my staff bent over backwards on their behalf to deliver extraordinary service to them, despite having me as a horrible boss, they certainly could have reached into their pockets and tipped my staff for the great job they did on their behalf. I would rather that the wedding planning party communicate better with the venue to get their expectations met, instead of last minute demands and a bad review. Additionally, since the bride did not coordinate with me which ceremony site she decided to use for her wedding, at the last minute we brought in another staff member to prep and clean that site and gave the wedding party an extra two hours to do their thing. And, even though the contract states that our venue closes no later than 11pm, so I can let my staff go on time, the wedding party cleared out at 11:20pm making my close late. And I said nothing of that. That is good management whether she likes the tone of my voice or not. Im here to provide excellent services which we did do, but please coordinate better with the venue in the future.
