  We ended up having a micro wedding during the pandemic which threw everything we had planned for our special day out the window.   My experience with Cathy was great. I love her photos, that bring all good memories of my wedding. My wedding was rather simple, so I asked her for a basic option to photograph ceremony & family and friend photos & reception & little extra for just us couple. In a short time, she delivered everything I asked for, and with a great quality. After the photo shooting, she also offered to edit a few photos as I asked for. Overall, she was very professional, easy to work with, flexible, and also reasonable in pricing.

  Wedding and Engagement Session

  Cathy was extremely easy to work with and work for. She was timely, professional, and personable.
  
  When booking our wedding, she provided an engagement session and large, solid prints of our wedding photos. She provided all prints within about a month and everything was done beautifully.
  
  She was extremely easy and low maintenance, and I have referred her to several of our friends.

  Better than I could have ever hoped!

  I asked Cathy to do our engagement photos and be our wedding photographer. It was the best decision I made. She was amazing and she made sure everything ran smoothly. I'm normally very camera shy, but Cathy put me at ease and made it fun. I now have her beautiful pictures to cherish forever. And she is such a sweet woman too! I can't recommend her enough!!

  Cathy did an engagement shoot prior to the wedding day. The quality time getting to know the photographer was great. Being able to create a bond with the photographer before the big day makes it not so awkward on the wedding day! You’ll know a little bit about her as well as her business and how dedicated she is to get the best photos she can. Both sets of pictures came out great! Engagement and wedding! I am so in love with them. Would definitely recommend Cathy for any event!

  Saw Cathy in action for our friends’ wedding and the photos after and knew she would be perfect for us, too. She really captures the “special something” in all her couples. It’s awesome having so many fantastic images that look exactly how amazing our wedding day felt!

  Working with Cathy was amazing! She took the time to get to know us before hand which made working with her that much more enjoyable.   I don’t even know where to begin when it comes to working with Cathy!! She really took the time to get to know me and understand Jeremy and I to make sure we were completely comfortable with taking photos due to previous experiences with other photographers. On our wedding day she captured every moment beautifully!! She went out of her way to make sure she got every thing I wanted covered and got a lot of small details I will treasure for the rest of my life. If you’re looking for a laid back, absolutely amazing photographer look no further because this is your lady!!!

She did a great job at coaching us with poses and was super flexible! My husband and I would highly recommend her services to anyone interested in professional photography! Her photos were beautiful! Also, she included a engagement session within her price and that was helpful to us financially!

  After searching through MANY photographers in the Hampton Roads area my husband and I found Cathy. Initially her quality portfolio and affordable packages are what were attractive to us (what she offers costs double her price if you are looking at other notable photographers in the area). After emailing back and forth a bit (her responsiveness is awesome, which is a huge relief for a stressed bride) and meeting with her face to face to go over what she offers in more detail, we decided to hire her! And honestly, it was 100% the BEST decision we could have made.
  
  After having a our complimentary engagement shoot and getting those photos back, it made us SO incredibly excited to get to our wedding and have her capture the most important day of our lives. And the engagement photos were just a tiny peek into what our wedding photos would be like. Even today, months after our wedding, my husband and I enjoy going through the pictures she took and they still bring tears to our eyes. Even our friends and family have said how impressed they are by our pictures. I couldn't believe some of the photos where she perfectly captured the emotion. It really allows us to go right back to that exact moment.
  
  The day of the wedding she and her second photographer were on time, professional and also super laid back (which honestly helped us relax). Giving Cathy a 5 star review is the easiest. She is awesome and I would recommend anyone hire her to capture any special moment in their lives, especially their wedding!

  We live in North Carolina and planned a wedding at Virginia Beach. After talking to several photographers, I felt that Cathy Smith Photography would fit our needs. We were more than pleased with her and the photos she took. I would definitely use her again.

  Cathy was amazing! She was willing to travel for our engagement session(for a small fee), she arrived early to our event and was over prepared for everything. She was super easy going, funny and really down to earth making it easy for my husband and I to relax. Thank you Cathy!!

  Cathy and her teammate were absolutely AMAZING and their work is like magic! They were incredibly professional and provided the highest quality of service. They captured our traditional Pakistani wedding beautifully. They made us dorky couple look beautiful! Even though we had limited time before getting into the venue, they managed to take a lot of beautifully posed and candid photos. I have enjoyed their work immensely and I will definitely recommend them for any and every occasion!

  Cathy was AMAZING!!! From the moment my husband and I met her she just seemed so genuine & caring!!! She captured our day perfectly & we are so in love with all the memories she caught for us!!! We highly recommend her & hope to use her services again in the future.

  I first found Cathy by searching for an affordable wedding photographer in Hampton Roads and I am so glad that I did! We just got our photos back and couldn't be happier. We had a great time working with her at our engagement shoot and on our wedding day. She really makes an effort to get to know the couple and what their vision is for their wedding photos with her Bride Guide. I requested a few specific photos that I really wanted to get and she made sure they happened. She will definitely be hearing from us for more photo shoots in the future!

  Cathy really surpassed our expectations for our wedding photographer! From the very beginning she was kind, professional, easy to get in touch with and very easy to work with. She had a great questionnaire list that you filled out for her to make sure you got all the shots you wanted. The portrait shots were amazing but we were most impressed by the detail shots and the candid shots. She definitely has an eye for beauty. Every time I look through our wedding photos it can take me back to each and every moment. My favorite part of all the photos is how the feeling of the day was truly captured and even others who were not at the wedding have made comments about feeling part of the day just through the photos! Cathy was open to follow the pictures we wanted but also gave some wonderful suggestions for things such as how to stand for our first look photos and others which really made them stand out! I cannot express enough how much we love ALL of our photos. It was very difficult to pick our favorites because they were all so great. On top of that we got our USB with all of the photos edited within less then 2 months! I have heard horror stories from other people who had to wait over 8 months to get their photos to them but Cathy stuck to her deadline that she told us and we couldn't be more happy with them! Cathy is highly recommended!!
