Gorgeous dark and moody wedding flowers
Catskill Flower Shop did an absolutely phenomenal job with our wedding flowers. Flowers were originally pretty low on our list of priorities, but they turned into a highlight of our wedding day and we can’t stop talking about how much we loved them. Catskill Flower Shop had a tough job with our request to match a nontraditional, dark, moody, wild, witchy vibe, but the flowers were perfect and received so many compliments! Communication was a little rough at first (having to correct the spreadsheet and email more than once that we’re two brides and not a bride and a groom wasn’t great), but we consistently felt welcomed when discussing in person or via phone, and communication was consistent and smooth once Stacy stepped in. -

Due to rescheduling our wedding three times, I was very late finding a flower vendor. Lydia from Catskill Flower Shop followed up with me immediately and created a lovely and meaningful plan for bouquets, garlands, and arbor decorations which aligned with our wedding colors and vibes. She delivered flowers to the venue and set up the arbor decorations quickly and quietly! We are very pleased with her quick and meaningful work - definitely recommend! -

The very best in the biz!
My husband and I used Lydia's services to help search for our wedding venue, and then to provide floral and decor on the day of our wedding.
Lydia was a true area expert in wedding venues, and shared locations with us that my google searches couldn't find. She was thoughtful and really listened when we had our initial call about the things we did/didn't want in our venue. And she sent us to the perfect place! I cried tears of joy five minutes after arriving on the property and we booked on the spot.
For the day of our wedding, Lydia made our already dream venue look even more romantic and wonderful!
It was such a joy working with Lydia in the year leading up to our wedding. Her professionalism and attention to detail are unmatched by any.
I’m a very detail-oriented bride who had a vision that I wanted to see come to life. Lydia was energetic, yet grounding throughout the who process and really connected with what I shared with her. It meant so much to me that Lydia understood my vision and dream, had unrelenting patience with me, and then, not only made my dream come to life, but far surpassed it.
I had the most beautiful bouquet ever, and our guests were in awe of our table settings.
My husband and I also wanted to use our wedding floral/decor the next day for brunch and other planned activities, and Lydia promised the arrangements would hold up. And they did. They were flawless the next day, and Lydia was so kind as to postpone her pickup/cleanup time until after these activities so we could enjoy our flowers even longer.
I can’t thank Lydia enough for all of her hard work this past year. Aside from our wedding venue, Lydia was my favorite vendor to work with.
If you're in need of flowers/decor/wedding planning in the area, Lydia is the BEST choice.

We hired Lydia as our month of coordinator, florist, and decorator. She went above and beyond from day 1. She made us feel so comfortable about the whole process and took a lot off of our plate by organizing and contacting our vendors. Everything went off without a hitch and we couldn’t have done it without her. If you want a worry-free month leading up to your wedding, definitely go with Lydia and Catskill Weddings. -

She provided all the centerpieces, bouquets, candles, signs, chandeliers, and arbor for my ceremony and reception, and each element was completely flawless. The flowers and greenery she selected were beautiful, seasonal, and extremely tasteful. Additionally, her rate was very reasonable for the service and quality products she provides. Very highly recommended!!! -

We were literally in awe at Lydia and Stacy's floral arrangements for our wedding at Spillian. They were contemporary, imaginative, and even better than what we had imagined! Not only were the flowers absolutely perfect for us and our venue, Lydia and Stacy were wonderful to work with. They are flexible, professional, responsive, and so kind. We were very worried about rain on our wedding day, and they went above and beyond to make sure that we would be happy with the flowers regardless of the weather. I can't recommend them enough! -

Lydia was so helpful. We used her "month of coordination" services as well as using her for our florist. She had worked with our venue many times and that made things super easy. She had lists for other vendor recommendations which she provided as well (photographer, catering, booze, accomodations, etc) which were invaluable. We had a full "Wedding weekend" and i must say it really went off without a hitch! I'm sure this wouldn't have been the case without Lydia's team. My flowers were also GORGEOUS. All my bridesmaids and even our photographer were obsessed with them. Lydia's team really pulled everything together. -

When my Husband & I got engaged we decided we wanted to get married quickly, so we did in just over 5 months. The florist was the second vendor I had looked for (venue being the first). I am an avid gardener, my flower beds are my babies. I wanted the floral arrangements to match this, but most important to me was my bridal bouquet.
I had read many reviews from the list of vendors that our venue (Hunter Mountain) had provided. Reviews for Lydia had me very interested, since most said that she was easy to work with & she was able to capture what they wanted.
Unfortunately, this was far from the case for me. It didn’t start out so bad, but it turned out to be my worst nightmare.
When I had requested a quote from Lydia she asked that I send her my ideas. I sent her an email full pictures and explanations of each. She responded the next morning with a quote and we set up a time to talk. Once we had our conversation over the phone I told her that I would like to book her for my wedding & she said she would email me a contract. Well almost two weeks went by & I hadn’t received anything I was trying to figure out how to word the email asking for the contract and she had sent me an email saying I needed to let her know if I wanted to book her for my wedding because she was filling up, I explained that I told her and was concerned because she hadn’t sent the contract that she said she would, she apologized and sent it.
When I sent the deposit the next day, I emailed to let her know and also clarify the number of boutonnieres that I needed, she acknowledged it and said that was fine.
During our conversation over the phone she said that if I was unable to make it out to her shop before the wedding that she would send me demo pics of centerpieces to make sure they were what I wanted. I was never able to make it to her shop and as the wedding grew closer I had emailed her asking if she needed anything from me and if we were on track. I had sent her final payment, she never notified me that she received it, I only knew she did due to my bank statement. Well she never replied, and I was a nervous wreck over it.
When I arrived to Hunter Mountain the day before the wedding they were able to get in contact with her assistants for me and she still had the number of boutonnieres wrong. Her assistant said that they were able to correct that. They then went over what they had lined up for me while we were on the phone. Everything seemed to be what I had asked for.
Fast forward to wedding day, an assistant brings in two arrangements, one was my MOH bouquet (exactly what I had asked for), and I thought the other was some type of “congratulatory” arrangement for my room but apparently it was my bridal bouquet. My heart stopped. I had sent Lydia 4 pictures of examples of the bouquet that I had wanted, which she told me was do-able. I had asked for a cascading bouquet that was large and dramatic, the pictures reflected this with bouquets that cascaded down to a bride’s mid-thigh. The bouquet that was brought to me was no larger than my MOH bouquet. I paid $225 for my bouquet, and $75 for the MOH bouquet, but they were the same. I was baffled and heart broken. The image I had of myself walking down the aisle was shattered. I even picked a dress to highlight the bouquet that Lydia said she could do for me. Her assistant took it back, said she would try to fix the issue.
She later comes back with a bouquet stuffed with vines that the leaves had been eaten by beetles. The leaves were FULL of holes. At that point I was insulted. My bouquet then looked, as my MOH put it, as if I had “driven a golf cart through a bush on my way to the ceremony.” I had to cut them all out.
So the time for the ceremony comes. The floral arrangement on the Arbor was nice, but it was not what I had asked for. I had asked specifically for Vinca Vine to be cascading from the arbor. There was not a single Vina Vine, but dark flowers that seemed to blend in with pictures from guests so it was hard to tell what was there.
At the reception, the center pieces were almost exactly what I had asked for. They were hurricanes filled with submerged baby’s breath & a floating candle. Lydia had said she would put them on mirror bases with greenery around them. There was no greenery so the mirrors made the centerpieces look much sparser than what they actually were. This could’ve been corrected if Lydia would’ve gotten back to me and discussed these like she said that she would.
That Monday I emailed Lydia with my disappointment, I was so upset I couldn’t wait until after our honeymoon. I sent screen shots from previous emails, including the pictures of what I wanted for my bouquet, and the pictures of the “fix” that was done with the beetle eaten vines. To my surprise, and which probably upset me even more, she replied right away. ??? But couldn’t reply prior to my wedding. She said she was “sorry that I was disappointed” but didn’t address anything in the email and said she wanted to discuss it over the phone when were back home. So a few days later I let her know we are back, she said she would reach out that Monday or Tuesday, and to no surprise, she never did.
She has yet to reach out as she has said, and most definitely has not tried to make things right. I am told that my experience with her does not match her reputation, but if I could go back in time, I would’ve taken the first red flag of her not sending the contract and looked into someone else.
If you want standard floral arrangements, you’ll probably be okay to use Lydia. If you want communication and something special I would suggest looking at others first.
