Amazing venue
Rick and Michelle are great folks. They take pride in their venue and want you to have a great wedding day! Rick was always a phone call away with any last minute questions that I had! I loved the “blank space” the barn had to offer so we were able to add our own special touches! Like alpacas at our cocktail hour! Amazing scenery so we got wonderful photo opportunities. We wish we could do it all over again because it was such a great day! -

Love This Venue
My husband and I were looking at venues for our wedding and Cedarbrook Barn was recommended by an acquaintance. It just so happened to be that this venue is five minutes down the road from my childhood home, and I never realized it was there. We were almost instantly sold, and we had our wedding here on 6/24/23. Our ceremony and reception were beyond our expectations, and I would absolutely recommend Cedarbrook Barn to anyone who is looking for a venue in Southeastern CT. -

We don’t have enough good things to say about Rick and Michele of Cedarbrook Barn! From the day we toured the venue until even now, a month after our wedding, they have been so amazing! They are very responsive and communicate about whatever you may need. We live five minutes from the venue so would drop by once in a while to see it set up for other weddings or just to try out our ideas. They are more than welcoming and want to ensure you enjoy the space and your big day. They help with parking guests rhe day of and also have a covered wagon which you dq use to transport your guests the pond and bridge for pictures. You get the venue from Tuesday through Sunday, which was a game changer for us. I didn’t want a venue where we had to set up at 9am and be out by 11pm that night. This way, we could bring things in throughout the week and set everything up the way we wanted. We could also come in the day after the wedding to cleanup, which really allowed us to enjoy our day. There is space upstairs as a bridal suite which we utilized to get ready. They have a list of recommended vendors as well who are familiar with the site. We went with their bar recommendation which was perfect for our needs. All of our guests could not stop raving about how beautiful the venue is and how it is really one of eastern CT’s best kept secrets. I would go with them again in a heartbeat! -

This rustic barn is the way to go! 5 minutes from the highway. It’s a place to decorate as you please. You have a few days to put your vision together. Rick is very helpful with giving recommendations for different vendors. We had 140 guests and rented a tent/tables/chairs from CT Rentals. The venue has a covered bridge, dock on the pond, and gorgeous scenery in the woods. -

Cedarbrook Barn was everything my husband and I wanted in a venue and more. The couple that owns the barn, Rick and Michelle, are absolutely wonderful. They were quick to respond to any questions that we had and always helped to make our vision come true whenever they could. We will always highly recommend the barn to anyone in search of a venue! -

VENDOR review of Cedarbrook Barn by JP by the Sea
I have officiated two weddings and was the wedding planner for one wedding at Cedarbrook Barn this year. When I first saw the property, I could not believe what a unique and gorgeous rustic venue this was! As you enter the property, you just have a feeling that you are about to see someplace very special and private. A small pond with a dock and a wooden covered bridge greets you as you enter the property. All fantastic spots for photos! After the bridge, a windy road through a cedar tree grove (they smell amazing, windows open if possible!) leads you to an open clearing featuring the large, beautiful, pristine red barn. The grounds are maintained meticulously and lovingly by the owners. As the barn doors slide open, a warm, rustic event space is revealed. High ceilings with a loft and unlimited potential for design and decor. An outstanding detail that I love- your site rental includes most of the week for setup and breakdown, very rare to find! The owners, Rick and Michele, are the kindest and most down to earth couple who are always on hand to help with any questions or helpful suggestions. The couples that I've officiated and event planned for were ecstatic with their experiences at Cedarbrook Barn. It is truly a place that is meant for happy celebrations with family and friends. These memories will last a lifetime. If you are fortunate enough to find a date open for this magical venue, you would be wise to book IMMEDIATELY! I cannot recommend Cedarbrook Barn highly enough and can't wait to plan or officiate our next wedding there. -

The absolute most beautiful wedding venue! This venue is all about DIY - you can decorate how you want, pick a caterer you want, decide on your own DJ or band, and get an additional tent (or 2) if you need more room (like we did)! You can start decorating days in advance before your wedding which was such a huge plus (compared to other places where you have to set up within hours before your wedding.) Rick and Michele were extremely helpful in recommending outside vendors for flowers, food, alcohol, tents, hotels, transportation, etc. You name it, Rick and a Michele were there with an answer. Weather changed unexpected the day before our wedding, and Rick and Michele proposed multiple back-up plan possibilities that made us feel at ease. The day was absolutely perfect! One of our vendors messed up, and Rick was able to get it fixed for us. This is hands down the place you need to get married. Your venue search is over. -

What dreams are made of!!
As soon as my then fiancé and I stepped onto the property at Cedar Brook barn, we knew this was the perfect venue for our wedding. Rick and Michelle helped my husband and I create the wedding of our dreams. They were more than accommodating and helped bring our visions to life. They were able to help us with the options for catering, DJ, and our services. Our friends and family are still talking about what an incredible night we all had. I would highly recommend Cedarbrook barn as the perfect wedding venue! -

Cedarbrook Barn Dream Wedding!
This is the most beautiful venue with the greatest hosts you could wish for! Rick and Michele helped my husband and I create the wedding of our dreams. Our friends and family raved that they had the best time at our wedding and wish they were as lucky to have such a beautiful venue. Rick and Michele were more than accommodating and helped bring our visions to life! We recommend Cedarbrook Barn to everyone looking to host their special day in a beautifully remote setting with the capability of having flexibility in important factors such as catering, photography, DJ's, etc. We are forever grateful for Rick and Michele opening their doors at Cedarbrook Barn to kick off the start of our 'happily ever after'! -

Relentless interference from the property owners—I think they truly believe they are being helpful when in reality, they are intrusive, unprofessional, and difficult to work with. They should have had minimal involvement the day of and yet the owner tried changing around our decor and embarrassed us in front of our photographer, creating a very tense, uncomfortable environment for our wedding party on what was already a stressful day. We tried to make the best of it and it was a beautiful property, but some people should just not be in the wedding business—not worth the hassle.
