Chantal’s services were above and beyond what I expected. Although my mom was the one in contact with her every single day for months, my mom had only amazing things to say about how helpful, knowledgeable, responsive and courteous Chantal was through the entire process. She made sure to get to know my mom to figure out exactly what she wanted to get it right. Her recommendations for food, table setups, a DJ, etc. were spot on. Even through the wedding she remained calm and collected to ensure that my mom was stress free (even if something out of her control wasn’t going smoothly). 10/10 would recommend -

Esther Sent on 10/15/2016Our hearts were set on draping from the ceiling and 2 days before the event the hall informed Chantal that they couldn't put it up. Chantal came up with a plan B within a couple of hours. Everything looked beautiful. She put up an entrance draping, draping on the stage behind the head table and bistro lights. We also had uplighting, chair covers and table linens. She really listened and completed the vision we had. I'm an extremely satisfied customer! -

This is the third time I’m rewriting my review. It was somehow deleted twice before I was able to post it. Not sure if it was too long or just too honest. I want future brides to be well informed before making the important and pricey decision to hire this wedding planner.
Chantal is a nice enough lady but she has a lot of learning and growing to do. Controlling her facial expressions and not cutting people off while they’re speaking is a start. Professionalism and customer satisfaction should be her priority and NOT lying to HER clients for vendors cuz they’re “friends” (her words). An upgrade to her presence and a stronger work ethic wouldn’t hurt either...so no more jokingly calling the bride inappropriate names.
Chantal disappeared at the end of the night and guests were breaking down til she reappeared. And there wasn’t a helper with her like she said she would bring.
Believe me when I say, I prayed about this review for over three months. I do have some positive things to say so it’s not all bad. Amanda, Chantal’s administrative assistant, was friendly and helpful and the DJ that was referred to us was good. Chantal came through big time when I had a vendor cancel on me two days before the wedding and she found a great replacement. But BRIDES BEWARE!...if Chantal refers Chris from Party People Entertainment for any services, she IS NOT looking out for your best interest. Pay the extra money to find someone professional and accountable but don’t waste your time on her “friend.”
The bottom line is, Chantal was hired to make our special day stress free, drama free and work free. Sadly, that was not entirely the case.Chantal's Wedding & Event Planners's reply:
Hi Isela. I’m so sorry to hear that you did not have a pleasant experience with us. However my recollection of the order of events is completely different from what you’ve described.
As you stated, you did have a couple of make-up artists whom you were interested in and was in the process of retaining, cancel on you. Unfortunately, one of those make-up artist, cancelled on you a couple of days prior to your wedding. Thankfully, we have an arsenal of make-up artists in our portfolio and we were able to recommend one for you. As I recall there was also a situation with securing a church for your ceremony. Apparently, a couple of months prior to your wedding your church double booked themselves. They scheduled a quinceañera right before your wedding. As a result, for several reasons, we decided to have your ceremony moved to another church. We were very instrumental in finding you an alternate church who would accommodate you at a short notice.
At the time, you lived in Las Vegas and I lived in Illinois. Both your ceremony and reception was going to be held in Northwest Indiana. So when you called and said that you were going to be coming in town, we would meet. We had lunch/ dinner at least 3 times. Once in Schererville, Indiana and twice in Munster, Indiana. At none of those meetings did you ever express that you were unhappy with our services. Our conversations were always very upbeat and pleasant. We laughed and had a great time. We spoke about you being a ticket holder for the Chicago Cubs and I expressed interest in going to a game. There was never any tension between us nor did you state that you were displeased with our services. I enjoyed our conversations, meeting your family and helping you plan your wedding.
The day before your wedding, I met you at the banquet hall to help you decorate. Myself along with a couple of your bridesmaids attended. I was admiring the decorations that you chose to be on your guest tables. Your “Beauty and The Beast” Theme was breathtaking. Your ideas of how you wanted to transform the room was well thought out. As I was unpacking your boxes I was in awe of the figurines that you chose to be on your tables. I do recall making the comment that you’re high maintenance. I truly apologize for saying that. At no point did I say that to be harmful or disrespectful to you. I was trying to express that you have impeccable taste in choosing the various elements that you wanted to use for your theme. I never intended to upset you or offend you. When you brought that to my attention that you were hurt, I immediately apologized and you said that for forgave me.
I did recommend Chris, from Party People, to provide the monogram service which you were interested in having. The image that you wanted to be projected onto the dancefloor was a beautiful boutique of roses. Unfortunately, the image that you loved, was only being offered on a “go- bo”. The issue that we ran into was finding someone who had a “go-bo” projector. Today monograms are digital. We tried to find a digital image similar to the one that you wanted, but you were in love with your original selection. I called a few of my Chicago dj’s who specialize in monograms and none of them had a go-bo projector. I then recalled a conversation that I had with Chris, from Party People, years ago. I called him to inquire if he still had his go-bo projector, and he confirmed that he did.
On your wedding day, at the banquet hall, you and I noticed that your monogram was not completely on the dancefloor like you’ve requested. Half of your monogram was on the dancefloor and half was on the carpet. I immediately called Chris and asked if he would come over to readjust the monogram. He said that he spent an hour trying to get the entire image on the dancefloor. He tried his best, but couldn’t quite get it to fit. He further stated, that he would come to the venue, but was currently at another event and therefor was unable to come. He told me how to adjust the size and sharpen the image. I along with several other people tried to correct the image. Unfortunately, after multiple attempts, we were unable to get the entire image onto the dancefloor.
At the end of the night, I assisted with breaking down your decorations and loading them into your van. You were so happy, yet exhausted. We spoke for awhile and laughed and talked. I expressed interest in your two floor easels. You gave me one and I purchased the other. Before you left the banquet hall, you and I (along with other family members) went back into the banquet room to retrieve your go- bo disc. You thanked me for all of my help. We hugged and left the building. At this point I still had no knowledge that you were unsatisfied with my service. You didn’t say anything. Everything seemed fine between us.
The following morning you called and told me how disappointed you were with how the monogram looked. I agreed with you. The entire image was supposed to have been on the dancefloor and it wasn’t. I called Chris and asked him to give you a call. At that time he was in a meeting, and was not available but would give you a call later that day. The next day you called again and told me that you still have not heard from Chris. I called and text him again. I was unsuccessful in reaching him. I called you back to give you a status. I was so upset and crushed that your monogram was not how you wanted it to look and that this matter has not yet been addressed with Chris, yet alone resolved.
I offered you 50% of your money back that you spent on your monogram and Chris’s service. I offered this several times to you throughout our phone conversation. And each time you refused to take it. You said that Chris should be the one trying to make amends. And yes, I do agree with you, however we were both unsuccessful in reaching him. I knew that you and your husband were going to leave for Vegas soon and I wanted to help and to see if I could resolve this matter. You and I had a great relationship and I didn’t want you to go home disappointed.
The following day you called me again. You stated that you still have not heard from Chris. This time you and I made plans to meet in person and to try to get a hold of him together. I drove to Indiana and we met in Munster. I was hoping that he would see my phone number and he would answer the phone. And finally, yes….. he did answer the phone. This time, your husband was in attendance and he spoke directly to Chris. Unfortunately the conversation did not go well. I apologized to you and Thom again for not being able to fix the image of the monogram. You said that it wasn’t my fault. You were disappointed that Chris did nothing to correct the issue. If he was unable to come out and adjusted the size, he could have sent someone else to fix it. And as a result, you were upset that I even recommend him. I do agree with you and wish that Chris handled this situation better. But I cannot make someone call you. I called and texted him multiple times and asked for him to give you a call and to apologize for the error. Again, I even offered to give you 50% of your money back for his services. Yes, that was a huge gesture, especially since it was not directly my fault. But I wanted you and your husband to be compensated because you did spend a lot of time planning and traveling back and forth and gathering all of those awesome “Beauty and The Beast” figurines.
