Chris was awesome on our wedding day! He was always easy to get a hold of and flexible with meeting times leading up to the wedding. He answered the many questions I had and offered advice when we needed it. On the day of he was there and ready to go on time and even brought my husband and a drink after the ceremony! He really knew how to keep the wedding running smoothly, keep the energy up, and knew what to do when certain things took more time than anticipated! We got many complements on how great he was and how everyone felt welcome and had a great time! I would definitely recommend him for any event, and will use him again if I ever need a DJ!

Chris was an excellent DJ and MOC. He went above and beyond, even making sure we were served dinner and offering refills when we were busy with guests. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to book a wedding DJ.

Chris was an amazing DJ. He honestly went above and beyond the call of duty, making sure my husband and I were served our food, making sure we had a drink before we entered the reception. All was done with the calm and poise of a true master of his craft. I have NO hesitations recommending Chris Lewis to anyone looking for outstanding costumer service and a great person to work with!

We had such an excellent time. Mr. Lewis was professional and fun to work with. He took all of our ideas into account and we planned an excellent night. We have had several comments from friends and relatives that said this was the best wedding they have ever attended.

Chris Lewis: Master of Ceremonies's reply:

Mr. Elliot & his bride were awesome! Everyone had a good time at their event... Even the event staff were dancing while they worked. That sort of happiness is tough to come by, yet so easy to spread!! Good luck to you both.

Chris was AMAZING. He truly made our wedding better than we could have ever imagined. I don't know what we would have done had he not been there. He was so much more than a DJ that just plays music. We would highly recommend Chris. He makes everything so easy.

My husband and I totally felt the same way, Chris made our wedding complete.

When your wedding guest come up and say that your MC "made" the wedding and reception, you are certain you made the correct choice of vendors.

One other special comment I want to add, Chris is a total gentleman. When my bridesmaids arrived in pouring down rain, he volunteered to move their cars so they would not get their dresses or shoes wet (not in his contract).
Then when my minister had been ill just before the wedding and wanted assistance with a few stairs during the ceremony, Chris again was most gracious to help her (not in his contract).
This vendor goes above and beyond, and I am certain you will feel the same way!

Chris Lewis: Master of Ceremonies's reply:

What a joy it was to be a part of Ronda's special day! Ronda and I have both had terrible experiences with the world of "DJ Companies". A DJ Company tends to tip the scales on quantity rather than quality, that which I do not. The advice she recieved from vendors in our area was to stick with someone that will make your event a personal experience, which is what I strive to do. When I am contracted, I work for you! I don't book multiple events and I don't hire outside DJ's. This allows my service to be one-on-one and free to go "above and beyond" as Ronda states. These are the moments I enjoy the most about the work I do. The music is the easy part, making it a memory worth holding on to requires the extra effort. May the Lord bless the both of you.

Chris, you might explain your DJ techniques pertaining to the playlist you use for the evening, up front. We worried too much about the reception playlist, whereas we could have only selected ceremony music and key songs for the reception. Would have made it easier for us. Overall, you did a great job and we agree, it was a lot of fun!
    Ken

Chris Lewis: Master of Ceremonies's reply:

Ken and his bride planned one of the most beautiful and enjoyable wedding/receptions I have ever had the pleasure to MC/DJ. Their friends and family were an absolute joy to entertain. I am very pleased that Ken has offered his review and that he shares his honesty of my services. To explain the situation a little further (this may help future clients), when meeting with clients I often state that my repertoire consists of over 60 thousand selections of music, with this number increasing regularly, keeping a running list of this music is not economical benefit. Also, having a client review 60 thousand selections would be very time consuming, and possibly add confusion in the midst all your plans. Therefore I explain how guidelines from the bride and groom and allowing the DJ to gauge the crowd will lend success to your event. This does not mean that I will not create custom play lists for your event, or that I will not timeline every song you would like to have played; after all, I work for you. However, I do not see the value added and do not prefer to DJ an event this way. As a professional Master of Ceremonies I feel the main focus of todays wedding/reception is more about professionalism, knowing how to direct the spotlight on the bride and groom, and orchestrating a flawless/seamless event; and as a DJ, the main focus is to allow the music to entertain guests without stepping away from the guidelines of the bride and groom.

Nevertheless, Kens wedding & reception was flawless, beautiful, and very memorable.

Chris did a great job at my wedding. I am very picky about the way I do things and exactly what I want and Chris was able to adapt to my taste and needs. He did a great job keeping us on time and was very good about finding me and my husband to let us know when things were coming up. My husband also mentioned how Chris kept the energy up from behind the scenes. We weren't looking for an entertainer, we wanted the DJ tucked in the corner and even from there Chris kept the energy up. I would strongly recommend Chris to anyone.

My daughter had her reception at the White House Ranch in Friendswood, Texas. (see our review of the WHR under wedding venues) Chris Lewis is the preferred DJ of the White House Ranch, so we took the suggestion given us by the person who manages the WHR, Lisa Hedrick, and booked him for the reception on July 11, 2009. Chris Lewis is also listed as a Master Of Ceremonies, and overall he kept the reception running well. But we do not recommend using him as a DJ.

A couple of weeks before the wedding, my daughter met with him and gave him a play list that she and her husband-to-be had spent an enormous amount of time putting together. He told her that he would play the songs that she had requested, and not play songs that the guests would request - before checking with them first. He played a couple of their songs, but the majority of the songs were not on their playlist. He played what he wanted and what he thought the guests wanted - without any regard to what the bride and groom wanted - even though they were the ones who paid him. He even played a disgusting Black Eyed Pea song and said that it was a request from the bride - such an insult to her!

We paid him $850.00 to play what the bride and groom wanted - NOT what he desired or what the guests desired. That, to me, is very unprofessional and he did not fulfull his duties as DJ.

Chris Lewis: Master of Ceremonies's reply:

First I must say that I feel that I am assiduous in responding to my client reviews; however, I never thought I would feel so strongly to defend myself (and others). There are many misconceptions in Ms. Susan's reviews with regards to the vendors used for their event. I would rather not go into detail; however, I feel many of the views are drawn from emotion due to an act of negligence that the contractor (Ms. Susan) became liable for (in other words, she is just angry).

In my defense, I met with the bride on more than one occasion, and regularly discussed her wedding plans via email and over the telephone. I would like to say that we were both on the same page and had a rock solid agenda for the evening.

With regards to the play list of music; I always offer the disclaimer suggesting that you may give me a list of every song you wish to have played; however this is used more as a guideline unless indicated as a "Must Play". The play list given to me was under very careful consideration throughout the entire evening. Every song listed as a "Must Play" was played; even those of questionable nature (i.e. Stiletto Heels, requested by the bride as a dedication to her girlfriends). In addition, the Black Eyed Peas was a request from the bride, as indicated on the play list formulated by both the bride and groom.

The bride often shared ideas, some you would consider akin to dreams; dreams that were often negated by over controlling persons. I always conduct myself with the highest degree of professionalism. This is the type of business that can easily break a person if you are not successful in pleasing your clients. Therefore, I always go above and beyond the call of duty. I labored very hard for the bride and groom, as I do for every client, who resulted in a very heartfelt "Thank You".

To add, the contracted price was not $850 (Ms. Susan, please check your contract... the negotiated price was much lower and included an extra hour for free). I feel ashamed that I did not stick to my regular pricing; but rather offered discounted pricing based off of misleading information from Ms. Susan.

In the end, I will continue to direct my clients to this review site, as the truth is the truth and it is very evident in past, present, and future reviews that my services are professional, affordable, and reliable.

Thank you all for reading & God Bless
