Such a great space that is a perfect blank canvas for decorating. The Courtyard and the Clearstory were beautiful and our guests loved the character. The people were easy to work with and were there if we needed anything.

I would recommend the Pajama Factory to anyone looking for a reception hall. Everyone involved was awesome!

Although we were in the rare position of a management shift, Lisa Andrus (the current coordinator of the space) always treated us like she was our very own mini-coordinator from the beginning. At this point, we feel less like clients and more like good friends, thanks to her flexibility and thoughtfulness.

Besides the excellent service we received, the space itself was the highlight of our guests' nights. This unique, industrial-style loft venue is the only one of its kind in the Central PA area, and an incredible value for a DIY bride. Though some may describe the space as "raw," the Clearstory is an absolute dream for the bride with an imagination; however, the space can hold its own with little decoration. When you book the Clearstory, you're booking the freedom to create the wedding you want.

However, be prepared to work for it! We wish we had booked directly with Lisa as our coordinator from the get-go, because the space requires coordination of every vendor, from your caterer right down to the forks you use. One of my bridesmaids and I were setting up 140 heavy resin chairs two nights beforehand! Understanding the management shift, Lisa has already eased future brides' pain by offering coordination in her rental packages. Even if you want to DIY, take it from me: you'll want Lisa's help.

The space is nestled into the Pajama Factory, home to the sweetest community of vendors you'll ever meet. Karen of Roots Hair did makeup for my bridesmaids, Todd of Way Cool Beans coordinated coffee service, and Erik from White Knight and Erik's Edibles supplied the best damn pickles for our guests' welcome bags. We even considered using the bakery at the Pajama Factory! (We opted for a dessert bar instead). This type of community is right at your fingertips when working with Lisa and the Clearstory. As daunting a task as a DIY wedding is, Lisa and the Pajama Factory residents helped me make my wedding so special and unique.

Not What We Were Promised, Stay Away

When we initially booked our wedding here we did so because it was affordable, the venue itself was unique and fit our theme, and the coordinator at the time was personable and responsive. We booked in May of 2020 before the huge rush of wedding cancellations and felt confident about our choice, move ahead a few months and the initial coordinator emails to let us know she would be leaving, but that her contact email would continue to be monitored until they found a replacement should we have any questions. Suddenly we found radio silence from the vendor. From other reviews I understand they did hire a new coordinator, and that she refused to contact anyone. We finally got in touch with the owner, who found that our wedding wasn't even on the calendar for the 2021 date we chose even though we had paid a deposit and signed a contract. We eventually found out that they actually lost our contract. At just around a year out and hearing about the rush of weddings for 2021 we panicked, luckily the date was still open and we were able to snag it. Eventually they hired another coordinator and we had very little contact with her, and it wasn't until the week of the wedding that she actually started acting like somewhat of a coordinator. When we tried to make the final payment, they would not let us use PayPal as we had done previously, and still insisted we pay the credit card fee when paying with a check. I mailed them a check as they insisted it was a better paper trail, only for it to be lost somewhere and have to write out a new one the day before the wedding. The coordinator never asked me for the info of my other vendors, always made it seem like she was doing us a huge favor when she was actually just doing her job, and wasn't personable towards our guests. We were promised the moon at Clearstory and it was never given. They really need to work on communication with their customers, need to update the men's bathroom, and work on paving the parking lot. Many updates we were promised in the beginning were never completed by the time our wedding came.

    Terrible. Not worth it.

Hate to put a business on blast but...

We are in strange times, I know. And in these times, it’s been important to us to try and be supportive of small/local businesses - but we’ve found ourselves in a strange spot.

We had planned to get married at The Pajama Factory in Williamsport on May 3rd, 2020 and then COVID happened. We postponed our wedding until January 23, 2021 as a result. In light of the current climate, and with the desire to move forward in life, we decided to cancel the event we had planned. I expected that as a result of this unforeseeable circumstance, we would be out our security deposit for the venue. Initially, upon discussing cancellation, I was told we would possibly be given a full refund only to receive a call today that they would only refund 50% of what we’ve paid. Upon further conversation, it was decided that they would also refund our security deposit, which is nice, but still leaves us out $1200 for an event we can’t have. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. I’m angry.

We literally CANNOT hold the wedding we planned due to state guidelines related to the pandemic and our contract specifically states that if the event cannot be held on the agreed upon date related to a disaster (ie a pandemic), we would receive a full refund. I planned on being out the security deposit and have no problem with that, but holding any more of our money than that is just wrong and plainly put, theft.

We thought this was worth sharing for anyone else considering an event location now or in the future. It’s also important to note that the lack of professionalism from the business manager has been completely astounding.
