Jim Kennedy was one of the top experiences of our wedding!

First, goiang to his bakery to try the desserts. His bakery has such a warm, inviting feel to it. He presented us with multiple cake samples to try, an album of pictures to look through, and several sample cakes to see tiers and designs we could choose from. He also helped us create the perfect set of side desserts to compliment the cake.

We got the lemon raspberry cake, which is by far the most popular. Trust me, you will not go wrong with this choice! He even surprised us by making us two cupcakes (which we ate on our honeymoon!) and we were able to save the top of our cake for our one-year anniversary.

Jim beautifully styled the cake and delicately laid flowers that our florist supplied around the cake for the perfect setting. Rates are extremely competitive and great customer service. He was on time with cake and dessert delivery. We can’t wait to have our anniversary cake, and to visit his shop again for some more desserts.

We met Jim and his company Kennedy Confections during our food tasting. He had a table set up and was passing out samples for all of the attendees to try. The second we tried Jim’s lemon raspberry cake with buttercream frosting, we knew we wanted that cake for our wedding. Not only was it the best wedding cake I have every tasted, it might be one of the best cakes in general I have ever had. I lost count of how many times our guests came up to us towards the end of the night exclaiming that it was the best wedding cake they have ever tasted. Jim is truly a master of his craft. The one thing we really wanted for our wedding cake was to have buttercream frosting instead of fondant. Because our venue was an outside tented venue (Regatta Place, Newport Rhode Island) every other cake vendor we spoke to, except for Jim and Kennedy Confections, said it couldn’t be done due to the outside elements. When we spoke with Jim he said it wouldn’t be a problem, and he was 100% right. I will order that cake again every year for our anniversary. The cake Jim made was to our exact specifications. It was truly a pleasure working with him. Anyone looking to have not only a beautiful looking cake for their wedding, but a truly delicious one, schedule a meeting with Jim at Kennedy Confections. You will not be disappointed.

James did an excellent job with my wedding cake on 4/30. It was not only delicious but beautiful. He was very kind and personable and I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of a cake for a special event!

Jim Kennedy at Confections was wonderful to work with. We initially tried his cake at a prelude event hosted by our venue in Newport, RI. At that time we had tried some other cakes, but were blown away at the taste, and quality of his cakes! We decided within minutes we would be calling him to inquire about doing our wedding cake for our summer wedding. We live a few hours away so Jim was extremely accommodating to do the consultation via phone and e-mail. We decided on a four tier cake with two flavors, lemon raspberry and chocolate ganache. Both were so amazing!! When I walked into the venue before our ceremony, I looked over to see the cake, with fresh flowers beautifully placed and was amazed at how stunning the cake turned out! I think I said out loud that it was too pretty to eat! Jim took some of the ideas I had and went above and beyond to create a beautiful cake! Thank you, Jim for your amazing attention to detail and delicious cake! Can't wait to eat our first tier on our year anniversary.

We got married on St. Patricks day and Jim was so kind to put a few small shamrocks on the cake, and they looked amazing. Can't wait for our first anniversary to eat the top tier!

James Kennedy of Confections in Fall River did an outstanding job on our wedding cake. We had 2 top tiers and 50 cupcakes. The colors were red and white. Our first meeting with James was ver relaxing. He listened to my ideas and drew them out to be sure we were on the same page. We had a total of 2 meetings just to be sure I hadn't changed my mind on any of the decorations. When I walked into the reception, I was in awe. The presentation was exactly as I envisioned. There were a variety of flavors in the cupcakes, as I told him to use his imagination, and they were outstanding. Everyone complimented the cake and cupcakes. As a matter of fact, there were very few left, but I was able to steal some to take with us and put the top layer in the freezer for our 1st anniversary. The cake was to die for - the best I have ever had!!!!!

Confections provided 100 cupcakes and an anniversary topper for our 08/26/12 wedding. I discovered Confections at a bridal show held at the Venus Di Milo. The cupcakes were so moist and delicious they practically melted in our mouths. I knew after trying them at the bridal show that Confections HAD to make the cupcakes that I wanted for my wedding.
James was fantastic to work with. Very professional and flexible. We had lemon cupcakes filled with raspberry and a buttercream frosting. He worked well with my vision and decorated the cupcakes with sugar butterflies and flowers in my wedding colors of peach, butter yellow, and sky blue. I wasn't too thrilled with getting raspberry filling all over my white dress so he additionally made us a larger cupcake that didn't have the raspberry filling that we cut into during our "cake cutting" ceremony. He also did a phenomenal job with presentation. The cupcakes looked so beautiful on the tiered stand that was dressed up with yellow and peach roses and rose petals that matched my bouquet. They're pricing was very reasonable in my opinion also. I had a tight budget to work with on my wedding day, but it did not matter the cost when it came to the delicious cake that Confections makes. I would recommend Confections to anyone in a heartbeat.

We had Jim do our cupcake tower for our wedding. What an AMAZING job he did!!!!! We had 255 cupcakes and also had a small cake for me and my husband at the top. We were in awe on how it looked! They all had small snowflakes on it, it just looked unreal. They were also extremely delicious and we can not wait to eat our cake at our one year!

I would recommend Confections to everyone. Jim is amazing to work with and extremely nice! I will be using Confections for all my future cake needs!!

We had Jim make our wedding cake after meeting him at a wedding show. I tasted his chocolate ganache and was hooked we had to have them make our cake. We went for the consultation and he showed us a beautiful fall cake that was like no other we have seen. It was very different and very beautiful. It was exactly what we wanted. And of course we went with the chocolate ganache. Everyone at the wedding complimented us on how good the cake was it was perfect.

Jim did a wonderful job with our daughter's wedding cake. He fit them into his schedule so they could do a tasting and the cake he delivered was so delicious! Also, we felt his price was very reasonable.

Recommend Confections very highly. Also, they delivered to Jamestown, RI.

Jim Kennedy made a cake for my wedding that tasted delicious and looked absolutely beautiful! During our consult there were several cakes on display to see. There were things about each one that I loved, and Jim was able to take a little bit of each, combined with some other ideas and sketched a cake that was exactly what I wanted. The finished product was exactly what I envisioned. I just LOVED LOVED LOVED my cake when I saw it in person! It went perfect with the rest of my décor at the wedding. I was also torn between two flavors and Jim suggested that I could do both. He made the wedding cake out of carrot and the remainder to cut and serve a chocolate ganache, that way my husband and I could each have our favorites. Delicious and perfection in a piece of Cake!
I gave Jim a photo and that's exactly what was delivered on mywedding day.The fresh flowers for the topper were georgeous> another great suggestion from Plantation Catering. We had a yelloe genoise with a mocha frosting in the middle and a delicious buttercream frosting.

The cake was exceptional!! I left it to the baker to make a cake along the lines of my invitation. I was stunned at how beautiful the cake was and how excellent it tasted. You will not be disappointed if you hire this company. They take the cake!

We went to a few other cake tastings that came highly recommended also--but we compared all of them with Confections. Price wise, Confections came out with the highest quote of the three places we looked at, so we splurged on the cake of our dreams. Jim was great and listened to what we wanted our cake to look like...and nailed it! He is a busy guy and difficult to get in touch with sometimes. I would without a doubt recommend Confections for your wedding cake...or any cake for that matter!! Confections exceeded our expectations! Not sure if we can wait the year to eat the cake topper!

We were disappointed in the cake at our wedding as my husband has purchased a cake from Confections in the past and was amazing, as was the tasting, but...it didn't taste very good at the wedding. All the guests loved it, which is what really matters, but it wasn't what we expected. The taste aside, if you want a cake that LOOKS AMAZING, Jim is your man. He is an amazing artist, and you can't find sugar flowers like his anywhere. I would still use him again for a special event as he certainly makes specialty work!
