  Perfectly tailored coordination for the best day ever!

  We are so thrilled to have found Joe and Colleen from Contagious Events! We got married in June, and it wasn't until February that we realized we needed to hire a day-of coordinator. Our venue recommended Joe, and we were pleased to find his company offers different levels of coordination. We opted for the Primetime package, since we had already booked most of our vendors, but as the date grew closer we needed professional help to put it all together. Joe formatted all of our contracts, guest list, and other requests in an easy to use online portal. He was full of invaluable advice and recommendations (since we had never done this before!) and was available by email or phone. I can't overstate the amount of work and help Joe and Colleen provided us, including helping to run the rehearsal. We both felt so relaxed and easy on the actual wedding day, because we knew our timeline that Joe and Colleen put together had accounted for every detail. Not only are they true wedding professionals, but they are just fun, nice people to be around! Our wedding would not have been the same without Contagious Events!

  I cannot recommend Joe and Contagious Events highly enough. Joe was able to meet with my son and his fiancé and glean from them what sort of feel and look they wanted for their event before they could even articulate it themselves. His organization and attention to detail was flawless. When we experienced a glitch at our venue, Joe stepped in quickly and masterfully and managed to shield us from the fallout. The result was a wedding that was personal, stunning, and joyful. Thanks to Joe, my husband and I were able to enjoy the day instead of worrying. If you have a celebration in the near future, this is the outfit you want to hire. Period.

  We contacted Contagious Events about a year out from our wedding, though we'd done some of the heavy lifting on our own. Joe was able to jump right in and help us keep momentum with all of our plans. As a queer couple, it was important that Joe had worked with other queer weddings before, as the "traditions" seem to go out the window when there are two men walking down the aisle!
  
  Joe helped us to solidify our vision for our wedding, where we were not very sure what we wanted it to look like. He met with us repeatedly and guided us towards a fully realized concept. Furthermore, he was willing to share stories and suggestions from his wealth of experience with weddings. Never imposing an idea, Joe would provide us with clear examples, stories or ideas to help us put together a wedding that was a realization of our vision. He did research on various vendors and helped to facilitate communication with all the various moving parts in the wedding. In preparation with meetings with vendors he would suggest what we should come prepared having thought about and guided us in the types of questions that were important to ask. More importantly, he was always available when we had a random question or when we were getting overwhelmed with the process. He was flexible about where and when we met to talk about the wedding.
  
  The weekend of the wedding, Joe was a godsend. He and his team made sure that my husband and I were not at all bothered with any glitches that came up during the special day. He was always there, even though he often remained on the periphery. He ensured that the day was happy and fun, where we, as the couple, were able to focus on our love and joy rather than small hiccups in the general scheme of things. This would not be possible without Joe's meticulous attention to detail -- every single transition was planned to the minute and he made sure everyone knew what they needed to be doing and when. Contagious made our wedding the best day of our lives!

  Contagious helped us turn a very beautiful but very raw venue, Pier 4 in Charlestown's Navy Yard, into a spectacular Party on the Pier! From start to finish, we and our guests (~150) had an incredibly fun evening. Joe and his team made sure everything went off without a hitch. 5 stars!

  Highly recommend Contagious Events

  We worked with Contagious Events (specifically Joe) for our September 2022 wedding. I highly recommend! Joe was able to bring our vision for our wedding to life. He is a pro at what he does. He went above and beyond on the day of as well (like, Ubering back from the venue to the hotel to retrieve a clothing item that the bride forgot, above and beyond). Part of the benefit of working with a wedding planner is having access to THEIR network of amazing vendors. Joe connected us with all our other amazing vendors as well, and worked with us even after the wedding to make sure all loose ends were tied up (got photo and video galleries, etc). Can't recommend Joe and Contagious Events enough.

  Not the best

  While we had a longer review with specifics written, we feel it best to keep this on the shorter side. We hired Joe and his team for the “Primetime: Month of Coordinator” and we were extremely disappointed. If you are an organized person and have a good team of vendors and your venue has a dedicated coordinator, we feel you do not need this service. Joe was a good resource to have to bounce ideas off of, but when it came down to the services that this package offers, we found ourselves more stressed than we would have been without them.

  I am sorry to read that your experience wasn't in line with your expectations. At Contagious Events, we strive to exceed expectations and deliver beautiful celebrations for all. When you initially shared your disappointment, we made amends that you said were "more than fair." After explaining the pain points that were preventing my team and I from going above and beyond, we regrouped and your response was, "I finally am able to take a sigh of relief and am feeling much more comfortable that we have the help we very much needed. This has been a JOURNEY and you've been with us providing valuable insight for years and are very much looking forward to seeing everything coming together with you." Indeed, everything did come together beautifully, as evidenced by the fact that your wedding is set to be featured by one of the more well known publications in our area.
  
  One of the difficult parts of the Primetime package is that since it is a limited package with only a month of coordination, it's difficult to form the same bond that we're able to foster with clients who we have direct contact with from the early stages of planning. In an effort to create a connection, I may have overstepped the boundary and limitations of the package early on in our agreement by helping with multiple postponements, assisting with coordinating the rentals for your private, COVID ceremony, negotiating room block rates over a holiday weekend, and offering vendor recommendations after you terminated your agreement with your initial florist.
  
  During the planning process, I felt good about offering these additional services at gratis and you expressed gratitude by gifting me the incredible disco ball planter that still sits on my desk to this day, as well as emails such as the one in response to the assistance of room block outreach where your partner wrote:
  
  "Truly not sure how we would handle this without you. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU."
  
  One of the best things about being a wedding planner is the relationships we form with our clients and the friendships that last beyond the wedding day. This is hard to achieve with a limited package like month of coordination, and I'm sorry I wasn't able to make that happen for you. I do wish both you and Sean a very happy marriage and hope that you are able to look at your incredible wedding images with fond memories and smiles.
