    Great wedding at the Crowne Plaza

    When I started looking for venues I knew I wanted a hotel where we could have the ceremony, reception and a place to party after and the Crowne Plaza in Woburn fit the bill perfectly. My husband and I got married on 4/27/19 in the gorgeous new ballroom. It was beautiful and everything I could imagine. Jessica Perkins and her team were phenomenal, they executed our big day flawlessly and I can't thank her enough. Being a Bride can be stressful but I felt the Crowne Plaza's package we chose made things a whole lot easier with everything that was included (linens, cake, centerpieces etc.) Also the bridal suite was stunning and gave my bride tribe and I plenty of space to chill out and get ready for the big day. Thank you again Jessica and the whole team at the Crowne Plaza. It was the best day of our lives!!

    If I had to use one word to describe our wedding it would be ... Perfect! From the front desk to housekeeping, management, waitstaff, bar staff and especially our wedding coordinator, Audrey.... they made sure our day and night and was absolutely perfect. Audrey was so easy to work with. She was very responsive and made sure all of the details were taken care of! When I saw the room all set up prior to getting married .... it was what I had envisioned during the whole 12 months of planning our wedding! It was breathtaking. Everyone that attended the wedding couldn't say enough about how beautiful the room was and how delicious the food was! I loved the fact that me and my girls had the suite to hang out in and get ready in during the day! The room where we had the ceremony was perfect and so convenient. There honestly was not one thing I would change about our whole day... well maybe just that I wish it wouldn't have ended. It was everything I have ever wanted. I give great thanks to Audrey and the amazing team at Crowne plaza!

    Audrey and the team are beyond compare. I could go on and on with this venue. She paid attention to my budget, my vision and working with her was effortless. She truly made my wedding perfect. My husband and I both agree there is absolutely nothing we would change about our wedding day. Also, special shout out to Pina at the restaurant for our breakfast the day of and after our wedding, to Louise for waitressing at both our wedding and to the catering manager, whose name I cannot remember at the moment. She was on top of all the food during the event. And once again to Audrey who put in 12+ hours on my wedding day.

    Words cannot express the absolute joy that I received from this venue ! From the moment I booked here and until 12 am when my wedding was over-my wedding planner was there making sure that everything was perfect -AND IT WAS PERFECT IN EVERY DETAIL!!!! When everything was arranged and the ballroom was ready, Cindy ( the sales and marketing director of the hotel) who took care of planning my wedding,brought me and my husband to see the room before anyone else ; I thought I entered a fairytale land! It was a once in a lifetime experience and one that I will always remember! Food was perfect- delicious! The bartender was great! I had 150 guests that hugged me and said this was a beautiful wedding in every way! And I owe it to the amazing staff: the cocktail hour room was perfect, the ballroom was lovely, the food was delicious, the appetizers were endless and the service was astounding! The flower arrangements, the lightings, the ceiling drapery,the napkins, the desert table, and every other detail one can possibly dream of the wedding day waere there!i had the best time of my life and I didn't worry about a thing! If I had to do it all over again I would choose Crowne Plaza BoSton Woburn in a heart bit! The vendors they use are great too! I used the florist and the bakery they had in the vendors lost and they were amazing too! I recommend this venue to every couple that is looking for a great venue with a perfect price for their once in a lifetime memory! I look forward to host other events of our life at this venue!

    From the Moment we met Laura (Our point of contact at Crowne Plaza. Woburn MA) we knew we were in good Hands. Between my and my husbands schedule and dealing with my mother been severely injured it was such a relief and so much stress off of us to know that our once in a lifetime event, our wedding was in such amazing hands. I was a big pain in the neck with call after call of questions but never once were my calls ignored. Every call and every query i had was responded with the utmost professionalism and kindness I have ever experienced so much warmth in guest service till we met Laura. I have spent many years in the hospitality industry and I have seen craziest things happening with events like this but when it came to Laura at Crowne Plaza,Woburn we were more than impressed. On my wedding Day when I seen the Banquet room it brought my heart to a stop and tears to my eyes. Laura arranged everything over and beyond our expectations. Laura you made everything even more Perfect than we had imagined. There is not enough letters or Thank You’s we can give you to show how much we appreciate everything you did and all the help you gave us. The Crowne Plaza Staff and the Hotel itself was Amazing. Hands Down 5 Stars to Laura Sterritt and the Crowne Plaza, Woburn MA from Mr. & Mrs. Mewada.

    Disappointing experience

    Our experience with the Crowne Plaza started out positive. We were able to do a virtual tour of the venue and Sharon was super responsive over email. Once we signed the contract she said she would send us a timeline checklist of what things needed to happen when. She never sent this. She was not responsive over email as time went on. I would often have to send multiple emails to get a response and even then she would not fully answer my questions. It often felt like I had to pull information out of her which was frustrating. She is in the wedding industry whereas this is my first time planning a wedding so I don't know what I don't know. She did not tell us that we had to order a cake from a bakery although it was included in the package. Had I not inquired about a cake tasting with her I'm not sure when she was going to tell me that! She also did not communicate to us that our hotel room block would close 3 weeks prior to our wedding date. This left our guests faced with a 2 night minimum at a ridiculously high nightly rate when they were expecting to only stay for 1 night at a reduced rate. After a lot of back and forth she agreed to make an exception but it was not without her sending me extremely condescending, rude and unprofessional emails.
    My month of coordinator and I discussed the timeline with Sharon ahead of time as well as sent it to her multiple times. On our wedding day our champagne toast had not been poured in time for the toasts. This seems like a small thing but when you are paying for a champagne toast you expect that it will be ready in time for the toasts.
    Additionally, we were supposed to be comped for our wedding suite but the hotel went ahead and charged my card for it. I was able to get Sharon to remove the extra charges but that was frustrating to have to deal with while heading off to my honeymoon.
    Proceed with caution when dealing with this venue and Sharon!

    Not great, could have been better

    They were very unprofessional, made it very stressful for the Bride a week before the wedding, workers made inappropriate comments about ethnic catering and guest’s. Had many issues closer to the wedding date. Would not and will not recommend.

    Unprofessional, unaccommodating, and discriminatory

    I DO NOT recommend anyone to stay here or host an event, especially not your wedding, due to the unprofessionalism, irrational demands, and DISCRIMINATORY comments made by hotel managers. We hosted a wedding event here and highly regretted it. The general managers, Andrea Manni and Sharon Shaughnessy, are unhelpful, unaccommodating, unfriendly, and not easy to work with. They are not culturally aware and have no sense of inclusivity to diversity. They lack communication skills and professionalism. We signed a contract to book a date and as time went on, Selene Dai, the sales agent in charge of our event, decided to add requirements she failed to put on the contract and Andrea Manni held us responsible to meet the requirements. When I tried to call and reach the managers they did not return calls and they did not respond to voicemails, I had to chase them. I sent an email requesting a call back and still no call back. This was just the tip of the iceberg of their unprofessional behaviors. Andrea Manni had the audacity to tell me one week before my wedding event that if I can’t complete their additional requirements that’s NOT a part of my contract then I cannot have my wedding event. What bride wants to hear that one week before the wedding? Instead of being accommodating and offering an alternative solution, they were hostile and created a stressful situation for us the last 4 weeks leading up to our wedding event. We had informed them from the beginning that we needed halal Bengali catering which would be provided from NY as there were no options in Massachusetts. Selene Dai said that we can have outside catering as long as they are a licensed caterer. She then gave our caterer the run around and told them they need to acquire a permit from city hall to serve food in their venue or to be licensed in the state of Massachusetts without doing any prior research. The catering company has been serving venues across Massachusetts for 15+ years and they never had to deal with such a ridiculous request from a venue. I had to call city hall myself and confirm that those documents wouldn’t work for out of state catering. Rather than being accommodating and trying to rectify the situation, Andrea tried to blame the caterers and proceeded to tell us “she’s been in the catering business for years” so she knows what’s required. She made disrespectful comments towards the catering company instead of taking ownership of her own incompetency. It was clear she and management as a whole was biased towards us. Throughout the whole process we had to hear many condescending and sarcastic comments and remarks from our point of contact, Selene.
    During the last week leading up to the event, Selene went ahead and charged my credit card for the final payment without informing me or asking me for a final guest count and our preferred payment method. To top it off when I asked to confirm that the hotel is providing all soda and water throughout the event, Selene presented new information saying that because we negotiated a price the first day we talked that it meant that soda would not be available the entire night. That was not discussed prior and only brought up when I asked to confirm final details. We were having a non-alcoholic event and the only drinks we requested were soda and water to be available the entire night from cocktail hour to the end of dinner. We offered to bring in soda ourselves and have that served but Selene said no that would not be allowed-once again, not willing to be accommodating at all. We ended up having soda and water for only 3 hours during our 5 hour event. Selene also would not allow our decorators to be in the room setting up the stage while the hotel staff set up the tables. Selene gave our decor vendor less than 1.5 hrs to set up stage and decor for 350 guests. We had to push our event start time to make accommodation for the venue instead. They claimed that the decor people would be in their way and they had no interest of working together with them to setup the ballroom. During the wedding event itself, the hotel staff seemed like they did not know what they were doing or have a proper game plan. It’s like they never hosted a big party before. The day of my wedding, the hotel management team made derogatory and discriminatory comments saying, “the caterer is actually professional and on time and know what they were doing” and that “the guests are actually nice and calm.” They seemed to think that because we were minorities and hiring a catering company also full of minorities, that we would all be unprofessional and rowdy. This goes back to how they treated us during this entire process. Meanwhile the hotel sports bar was louder than my wedding event and could be heard from the ballroom the entire night.
    Additionally, we reserved a room block but our guests were separated into rooms all around the hotel instead of being close by to each other. One of our room block guests reserved two rooms for two queen beds in each room and was given two single bed rooms on two different floors. When some of our guests called the front desk to inquire about a late checkout, the front desk was rude and gave my guests attitude. The front desk staff were not welcoming or accommodating at all towards us and our out of state guests. Terrible experience and I DO NOT recommend anybody staying here or having an event here and deal with the incompetency, discrimination, and lack of professionalism.
