Jody and Crowne Plaza was absolutely amazing. I could not rave about this place more. Everything was perfect, from responsiveness, food, accommodations, venue, location to the staff. Not only were we blown away, but all of guest enjoyed themselves.

My son and his fiancé wanted to have a small family wedding on the beach. I did some research, and the fees to get a permit for any event on most beaches were expensive, and there were no quarantees that it would be private.. We live in Northern Ca., but I remember seeing a wedding party at the Crown Plaza in Ventura during a stay at the hotel. I inquired about possible wedding packages, and found that they had several...and the Intimate Wedding package sounded perfect for us! Turns out that it was! Jodi was so helpful in coordinating and helping to select the right vendors. It IS important to ask questions though, as there are so many details that I was unfamiliar with. If I could make any suggestion to Jodi and the staff about how to make the process easier for the customer, it would be to have a portfolio of photos of actual weddings held at the venue....I was nervous about the flowers that were ordered, the style of the cake...and about many other things. I would have been much more at ease if there were photos to see, to know what to expect...and even to inspire what questions to ask. Turns out that the venue, officiant, music, flowers and linens were amazing. The reception room and views were beautiful. The food
( including the wedding cake ) was exceptional...and the sunset they ordered was exquisite!!! :) All in all Great job Jodi Wagner and staff at The Crown Plaza Ventura Beach. We are very happy and thankful !! Kerri & Ken for Ale & KC

Everybody at the Crowne Plaza Ventura Beach Hotel was kind, helpful, supportive, and professional! The wedding ceremony went off without a hitch and the reception went beautifully! My guests raved about the food and a good time was had by all! Highly recommended!

Jodi the event manager was awesome. She was on top of everything. It all went very smoothly. Any little change was easily accommodated. The food was great also, all our guests commented on how good it was. The views from the ballroom are gorgeous. Their preferred vendors for their package services were far above average. Highly recommend the venue.

It's a wonderful location in Ventura (our hometown) and has the best view of the city, mountains, ocean & islands.
Working with Kim has been a pleasurable experience. She handled all of my (many) questions and was helpful with suggestions. The staff is friendly and experienced. My guests had a great time. Friends & family stayed there the weekend of the wedding and we all got together for brunch the day after at C Street Cafe.
I recommend brides get the double room for gals to spend the night the evening before the event and getting ready on the day of. (with me, the bridal party, photographer, flower girls & their moms, the hair & makeup gals... we needed the space and two restroom)

The Crowne Plaza was perfect! They set everything up perfectly, everything was as on time as in could be and my random special requests were all honored! Kim was understanding and helped the day move as smoothly as possible! Plus the food was AMAZING!!!! I thought the venue was over priced at first, but seeing all the hard work put in to making my day perfect, I feel I got a bargin!

Jodi’s team is amazing and they did a great job! The venue is a bit pricey, but I suppose you pay for that ocean view for the Top of the Harbor ballroom.

Jodi was amazing. She really works with you and your budget. I just think there shoukd be a percentage off if you do the reception and ceremony at the same place like they do at other places.

Wedding wires services were very good. The Crown Plaza experience was interesting. The first person that we dealt with was very flakey. She took a vacation right after we started working with her. She quit after a couple of months. After that, the woman that took care of us was very helpful, though this was not really her job. Responsiveness was spotty...The Crown e Plaza was looking for someone to take over the job. Melody did the best that she could, considering she was doing two jobs. The Crowne Plaza recommended two venders, one for the cake and the other for the flowers. They were both very good to work with.

Overall, if we didn't continually check to see if things were getting done, our wedding wouldn't have been a success. With our experience, I would give a rating of 3.5. Melody did her best to make up for the short cummings of the total service. They have hired a new supervisor. We had a chance to meet her. Things should be pretty good now...She was there to supervise our wedding, along with Melody. The cross-training of employees is very important. The Crowne Plaza needs work in this area.

Expensive but worth every penny if booking the big banquet room on top floor!! BEAUTIFUL, breath taking view!! Event planner was very helpful and friendly- willing to adapt to our desires and budget. Food was delicious! Actual staff at hotel was not helpful. Had on going issues with the lady and service used to block hotel rooms for my guests.
