  Dave was amazing!

  Dave went above and beyond in making my dream ring. He was transparent, quick, and kept me in the loop the entire time. I feel like I got the best quality that I couldn't find at any other store especially in my price range.

  Better than expected

  I had the priviledge of working with Dave. He was so easy to work with, so kind, and everything was better than we expected. He helped my fiance pull off a total surprise engagement for me. I cannot thank or recommend him enough!

  One of the biggest complaints I've heard about these guys is that it takes longer than often promised to get the product. Ours was not a typical short courtship and quick engagement, so Renee had plenty of time to get my ring done and we're completely happy with it.
  After finding a picture online of what I liked and taking that to several stores and having them tell me it was impossible or it would be uncomfortable, we took it in to Renee. He quickly assessed what would need to be done in order to make it a viable option and took the time to explain the process thoroughly.
  We came in to try the wax mold and rather than trying to sell us stones at the top of our price point, he first showed us a fake diamond and worked his way up till we found the size stone we wanted.
  Once it was done and my fiance actually proposed, it was a little too tight, so I stopped by the store unannounced to drop it off, intending to pick it up in a few days. He remembered us and that we were from Salt Lake and said he could re-size it right then even though they were closing soon.
  
  When we found the design we wanted for my fiance's ring, we sent him a picture and a link to the website and, rather than trying to talk us out of it or sell us something else, he said we should go with the company we found it through because he couldn't do what we wanted at a lower price.
  
  The only reason I didn't give him a perfect 5 is that we paid for an enhanced diamond and there is one visible inclusion in the stone which, in my understanding, should have been removed. It hasn't bothered me too much and I may talk to him about it when I take it in to be cleaned, buffed, and re-dipped just before the wedding.
  
  I get compliments on my very unique and personalized ring all the time and would happily refer friends to Renee in the future. I would probably caution that they not work on a tight timeline, however.

  They were fantastic. We spent a lot of time in there trying to make everything perfect, and they were very helpful and patient! We were very pleased with their work and we love that we get to have a free cleaning and dipping twice a year! They were great!

  Dave is great. We got my dream ring for a fraction of the cost it would have cost at some other jeweler. The are so willing to do everything they can to accommodate you. Nice nice people, friendly, I felt like I was important to them and not like I was just another random person off the street. The ring did take about 5 days longer than they said it would, which was super stressful because we were taking our engagements the day we got it. So that wasn't great, but it was understandable because of the way mail works.

  I like the smaller local shops over the big name brand chains, but Custom just not as good as some of the other local places I found that were more flexible and informative, like Dukes and Hur Jewelers.

  Good Guys but horrible customer service
  
  This really is the cheapest place in town to get a ring. The problem is they have so many customers they don't really have the bandwidth for customer service. Personally I think if you are going to spend hundreds of dollars on a ring you should be able to get ahold of your jeweler for questions and support. That is not the case with these guys. I called Dave and asked if he could tell me exactly what size my ring was because I couldn't remember if it was 7.25 or 8.25. He told me to send him an email because they don't have that on record. Three business days later I called and asked he had called and he said he hadn't. Eventually I guessed and gave up on waiting for him to check his email. Overall, I wish I had just gotten a $13 ring from amazon instead because even though I have a warranty on my ring that means I have to continue working with custom ring design.

  DO NOT EVER COME HERE!!!!! I bought a ring elsewhere and came here to get it resized, but they treated me like a joke because I didn't buy a ring from them. It took them over 2 weeks to resize my ring, and when I got it back, it looked awful!!!! There was a distinct black line at the bottom of my ring where it was resized, and the inside was completely dirty. It was as if they didn't even care about the job they gave back. A few days after finally getting my ring back, A DIAMOND FELL OUT!!!!!!!! So I went back and asked if they would help me. Renee lectured me for a very long time about wearing my jewelry to bed (something that no other jeweler really cares about, and something I never did anyway) then decided that he'd take care of the ring anyway. They didn't finish my ring in time because I left provo to go home for the summer and he promised me it would be done 2 days before I left. I got it a week after I came home, 2 1/2 weeks after I brought it back in. I finally got it back yesterday and it looked even worse. I took it to another, very trusted jewelers and they had me look through their magnifying glass at my ring to show me that they didn't even match metals when rebuilding the prongs on my ring. Even without the magnifying glass I could clearly see that the prongs were going to get caught on something and break because my fingernail could easily catch it because it was not remotely smooth or even. It was awful. I paid over $45 for someone to ruin my ring, when this other jeweler said that was way overpriced for even the best job on the ring and they would have only charged me $15. It was absolutely ridiculous. I hope they will give me my money back. I've had this ring for a month and a half and I've only been able to wear it for 10 days. It makes me want to cry. Please, don't EVER go here.

Don't just think because you are a good little Mormon, and you pay your tithing, that nothing bad will happen to you. If you want quality just pay for it and don't be fooled by their cheap prices. YOU DEFIANTLY GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!! DO YOUR RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH!!! My husband and I dealt with Rene and Dave Payne. Dave was very nice to my husband when talking about and making the custom engagement ring. But after that we became a burden when we came to look at wedding bands. We were a complete inconvenience to both of them, and they couldn't remember us from just seeing us a week prior. WOW! Great customer service. NOT! don't worry it gets better..... So We get married and go on our way and certain things happen to make us wonder what kind of rings we got out of this hobo shack. Well, we were right. After reading about their antics online and taking the rings into two different PROFESSIONAL jewelers (who are expert gemologists). They told us we did not get what we paid for. So we called dave and demanded a full refund. He refused multiple attempts and even lied about his whereabouts. haha. seriously? So we are on the move to get these clowns out of business. He tried to tell us he would sue for defamation of character, but the funny thing is that it has to be a lie to be defamation...and...who lied?...oh yeah that was DAVE and RENE!!! funny how Karma comes around to bite you right in the jewels! ALSO --- this place has been re-named about 5 times, Payne diamonds being one of the names. This tells you that they have been running from a past for quite a while. What are WE going to do?? while they pray on young students and couples in the heart of Provo??? Takin names and kickin A@#!!!

  The most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with!!! Like the others have said BE VERY AWARE of this ripoff artist. He will make the process seem very easy and accommodating at first but once he has your money, good luck if you have any problems down the road. I purchased a ring and got no paperwork or certification of the type of ring I had purchased. I had requested paperwork and got nothing. I do not know what I purchased and am in the process of trying to have this resolved with no cooperation at all from CRD. LOUSY, LOUSY, LOUSY!!!
