  Anastasia was the wedding coordinator i worked with throughout the process. She was quick to answer emails and provided a response usually within 24 hrs or less. If not the owner would reply back any concerns I had. The day of the wedding I dropped of my own table decorations and centerpieces. The staff put all the decorations together and were very attentive. Anastasia was there throughout the reception making sure everything was running smoothly and if i had any concerns. The reception location is very unique and would rent again for my baby shower when the time does arrive. Great location too, with the metro just a block from there. The guest all loved the food and are still commenting.

  If you're looking for a lovely space for a wedding reception in the District, the Darlington House's Library room is perfect. We found the service to be very good and the responsiveness of the staff to be excellent. They were very helpful in providing many scenarios to help us understand costs and helped select options that fit in our budget. Last;y, they were very flexible in accommodating the decorations and set up we wanted and provided guidance in executing a lovely reception.

  If you're looking for a lovely space for a wedding reception in the District, the Darlington House's Library room is perfect. We found the service to be very good and the responsiveness of the staff to be excellent.   My husband and I held our engagement-party-turned-surprise-wedding at Darlington House on March 1. We had a fantastic experience hosting an event there and highly recommend it to others looking for small-ish venues.
  
  I took off 1/2 star because we had some difficulties at the every beginning with communication delays. That being said, the staff was so accommodating and supportive. The owner was involved from the beginning up through the night of the event, and didnt balk at the idea of doing a surprise wedding after booking us for an engagement cocktail party, which we really appreciated after making the decision just weeks prior to the event itself.
  
  The guests raved about the food. The bar service was excellent. The room was stunning. Highly recommended!

  I would highly recommend Darlington House as a venue for your next event! We hosted our engagement party with the Darlington House for apx. 60 guests, and couldn't be happier with the service, food, and overall smoothness of the event. Stephanie and her team are easy to work with and definitely made our vision come true. They were flexible with requests we had for the menu and worked with us to set up the bar pricing in a way that met our budget. It can get pricey depending on what you want, but they do offer a variety of pricing options to bring the F&B costs to meet your needs. The room rental fee, which is great considering the location, includes votives, limited options for linen (we opted for white on white which turned out beautifully), and a couple other things which really helps you control costs. If you have your own items you want to use for decoration, I would recommend coming in before the event starts to set things up yourself. We did have floral centerpieces that were done through Patricia, their in-house florist and I could not have been more thrilled with how our centerpieces turned out – so beautiful and well-priced! Patricia and I corresponded via email and I sent her pics of what I had in mind and she really came through.

With 60 guests there was just enough space for a standing cocktail before dinner, and people were able to mingle around the area. The only downside of the venue is the stairs. You need to go up a set of stairs to get to the main event space, and another set of stairs for the bathroom and the coat check. If you have a lot of elderly people on your guest list, I would be very cautious about booking your event here. If that isn't an issue for you, the Darlington House is a great spot in DC for a special event!

  My husband and I held our Rehearsal Dinner at Darlington House on Friday, May 23, 2014. We choose Darlington House as the prices were very reasonable as compared to other restaurants in the area, we were able to hold the event in a private space, and we were able to offer guests options to choose from (including Gluten Free pasta).
  
  Pro’s
  • Private Location - The upstairs space was a perfect location for our event in which we had a total of 41 guests (including ourselves)
  • Private Bar and Bathroom for the Upstairs Space
  • Using the 60’ (5 FT) rounds we sat 8 to 9 guests at each of the 5 tables and still had plenty of room to wander during the cocktail hour. (Note: Darlington House recommended 10 guests per a 60’ table but typically 72’ rounds are used to seat 10 guests and 60’ for 8 guests. )
  • The centerpieces for our tables were made in house and were both beautiful and reasonably priced (approx. $40/table)
  • All in all the food was brought out timely and guests enjoyed the selection of fish and pasta (including GF pasta)

  • Of all the vendors I worked with throughout our wedding, Darlington House was not the easiest nor friendliest but was manageable and responsive
  • If selecting Darlington House for an event such as a rehearsal I recommended selecting the price per hour for alcohol verse consumption as we ended up spending more than if we had done the all-inclusive rate which was recommended by the venue.
  • No Parking , however, Valet services are available for a fee
  • Limited selection of linens available if you have a particular theme/colors in mind
  • If you want to have place cards and other decorations, be sure to have someone get there early to set up as you will need to do that yourself!
  
  Overall, we had a very positive experience and response from guests. I would recommend Darlington House to any other couples who are looking for a restaurant for their rehearsal dinner as we were very happy with our food and service during the event.
