    I know I am going to sound like I'm exaggerating, but going to Day's has probably been easily one of the best shopping experiences ever for me and my husband. He bought my engagement ring there and we have been going ever since. We also bought our wedding bands, and he purchased my wedding gift from Day's. They are extremely courteous, fast, affordable, and knowledgeable. I have gone in many times--even when it's very busy and still feel like I receive one on one attention like I'm the only one in the store.

    My fiance purchased my engagement ring at Day's and we just ordered our bands. The staff is very helpful and I love the relaxed atmosphere of the store. They also had a great selection of bands!

    We purchased all our rings at the Day's in Brunswick, what a pleasant experience. Each interaction with the staff at Day's was just a delight. The selection was great, the staff very accommodating and knowledgeable and there were many price points available. Thank you Day's for making our shopping experience very pleasurable.

    I had a great experience at Day's Jewelers in Portland and Brunswick! I bought the necklace for my wedding there. It was pink tourmaline and diamonds. I wanted matchinig earrings and they said they only had studs and I really wanted drops. I e-mailed Kathy Korey the owner when I got home she researched found the matching drop earrings for my necklace. I was able to order them over a year after I bought the necklace and they all matched perfectly! The service was great and I was able to pick it up at the store closest to me or have it shipped directly to my house!

    We purchased my wedding ring from them. It has a total weight of 1/4 carat diamonds on the band, and it is gorgeous. The sales people were lovely to work with and listened to what I wanted. They even told us about their special engagement and wedding band sale in April so we could save on my wedding ring. The first time I picked up the ring, I noticed it had a diamond missing when I brought it home. I was concerned they wouldn't replace it since we had taken it home, but when I called them to ask, they were as concerned as I was. I brought it in the next day and they fixed it immediately.

    What a customer service oriented place! My now husband and I take all our needs to Days and they are very quick to make sure we are both happy. The staff is friendly and willing to push to make the customer happy. The service is quick, efficient, and not over-priced. I love our rings from them!!!

    My rings are beautiful. Days worked with me to order a matching band for my engagement ring since they didn't carry one in stock.

    Days Jewelers is all about customer service. From the minute we walked in, the staff was very helpful and aided us in making our decisions for the perfect rings. It was a bit pricey, but with such good customer service, it was well worth it. At no point did we feel pushed into buying a certain ring, or certain style of ring.

    Loved the staff and the atmosphere! Best experience with a jeweler we have had. Used then for engraving, wedding rings, matching bracelets for mother and bride, and cake cutter.

    I went to Days on a whim one day to find out more about wedding band options. The staff were attentive and friendly, and took the time to get to know me. The most important part of the experience was that I didn't feel hassled. I was afraid to go in, in the first place, because I felt that I would be pressured to buy a ring that day. I was happily surprised that this was not the case, and after some time I learned that they were having an open house at the Topsham location in a couple of weeks. I was happy to return with my fiance two weeks later, and had a similar experience. The staff were helpful in letting me try on nearly every option they had. After considering a couple of options, the staff were able to find me a close match to the ring that we simply could not afford.

    Also, my engagement ring was purchased at a different location which is now going out of business. The staff at Day's happily cleaned my ring each time I went in (even within the two weeks), and offered to do that anytime.

    great serivice. the staff were concerned about US not just selling. they secured my diamond in my husbands grandmothers ring and bought ours and it was done before we finished our lunch!

    I was completely dissapointed with the highly recommended Day. We got my platinum ring there, and it broke 3 times, after we brought it back the first 2 times, we requested management for the 3rd time, and they "replaced" the entire ring, and we still had problems with it so we went to Jared and upgraded. I alwyas had excellent customer service there, but the quality is awful! So frustrated!

    Day's Jewelers located at 415 Philbrick Avenue in South Portland, Maine and specifically store manager Greg Gilbertson created a crisis three days before my wedding and caused us significant inconvenience and personal trauma. The end result with us not being able to replace our diamond engagement ring and wedding bands in time for our wedding ceremony.

    On June 21st, 2012 my fiancé and I went into Day's Jewelers and purchased a diamond engagement ring and two wedding bands. We paid for them in cash.

    The diamond needed to be transferred into a new setting and we were told that it would take 9 days to do this. Our wedding day was 4 days later from the promised day of delivery.

    The night before we were scheduled to pick up the ring the office manager (Amy Schmidt) called us at 7:00pm to inform us that they had damaged our diamond in the process of resetting the ring. She told us that she had selected a replacement diamond and she was going to use it to replace the one that they damaged.

    First, I asked Amy why our ring was being worked on mere hours before the promised date of delivery. Given the time sensitive nature of our situation we feel that the work should have taken place much earlier in the week as to stave off any chance of something going wrong. A lack of planning on their part caused an emergency for us.

    Second, I asked Amy to please have the store manager and general manager call me so that I may have the opportunity to figure out what we can do to resolve this problem. She informed me that it was impossible for that to happen until Monday. Why is it impossible for a person in upper management to take a moment to call me this weekend? Customer service needs to happen when the problem arises.

    Thirdly, I asked that the damaged diamond and any replacement diamond be inspected and verified for quality by a neutral third party. Amy told me that there would be no way for that to happen. Why is that? I feel that in order to regain our trust Day's should have gone the extra mile to prove that we were getting what we paid for.


    I decided to email Jeff Corey and Melissa Wildes to see if they could help resolve the issue. They are members of upper management. They (as of this moment) have not responded to my emails. That was 3 days ago. In an age where everybody has a smart phone (especially well compensated executives) this type of delayed response is in my opinion completely unacceptable.

    I also cc'd the general mailbox in hopes that somebody would help me. Again, no response.

    I then received a phone call from the store manager Greg Gilbertson. He told me that he could replace the diamond with one that they selected. I told him that I feel that we should be given as many options as possible so that we may have an opportunity to select a diamond of equal or better quality and to find one that we liked as much as the first one we chose. He was only willing to put forth one option that they had selected.

    I explained to him that the fact that the diamond we purchased got damaged had caused my fiancé and I significant stress and anxiety three days before our wedding. I also told him that in order for my fiancé and I to make two additional trips (1 hour for us) down to the store it would be necessary for us to miss work and cost us money. We feel that we were being significantly inconvenienced by having to scramble at the last minute to find a replacement diamond. I told him that our time is valuable and we expected to be compensated for our significant inconvenience. He was completely unwilling to consider this in any way or put forth a proposal to earn my trust or try to make up for our losses.

    Mr. Gilbertson's lack of sensitivity and unwillingness to resolve the issue in a satisfactory way or to put forth a proposal is extremely troubling.

    My mom worked for Day's in the past and said that they were a reputable Maine company with a good track record for customer service. She was wrong!

    I asked Mr. Gilbertson to refund my money so I could go and purchase a new diamond. I paid in cash and expected to get my cash back. He told me that the only way he could refund my money would be to send me a check from the corporate office and it would take a week to process the payment. My wedding is in three days. Now I'm out the ring and the wedding bands and I don't have my $5,000.00 to go and replace them until 4 days after my wedding.

    As you can see, he tried hard to ruin my wedding and it worked!
