    Beyond Anything Imaginable

All of the staff at Deer Ridge Golf Club are amazing! They were extremely helpful in making our day exactly the way we wanted it from the very beginning until after the wedding day. All of our guests were amazed by the food! On top of the amazing service, Deer Ridge was extremely affordable!

    Blackford/Davis Wedding

We had a wonderful experience with our daughters wedding at the Deer Ridge event center. Amanda Francis, the event planner, was a joy to work with. She had many great ideas and was willing to help plan the reception from start to finish. Everything was perfect. Chef Dan helped plan the meal and the food was fantastic. I would recommend them to help plan the wedding day.

I loved working with Amanda Francis. She was amazing and easy to work with and super friendly. She was willing to do anything for me, including wiping cake off my nose and helping me with my dress after I was in the bathroom! Beautiful place, a d the golf carts with the bridal party was super fun too! Highly recommend!

    No Customer Service

On August 6, 2022, we had our daughter’s wedding at Deer Ridge. The ceremony was beautiful & everyone had a great time. Thank you to Allison, Jennifer, the bartenders & staff that worked at the wedding. The food was delicious! You all did an awesome job in helping to make it a perfect day for my daughter & her husband. We couldn’t be happier with your service and willingness to do whatever you could for us. You all deserve 5 stars! The reason I am not giving it an overall 5-star rating. We arrived at Deer Ridge prior to the wedding, there was an event in the back room where the groomsmen were to get ready in. When we asked about it, we were told that we did not reserve the back room which was not the case. Every time we met with them prior to the wedding we told them that we wanted the back room & the loft for the bridal party. When we first looked at the facility, signed the contract & went in for the food tasting. The groom & groomsmen had to get ready in the reception area. It was an extremely hot on Friday when we were decorating for the reception. We asked if the air could be turned down to make it cooler for the next day. At the reception, I realized it was very warm. I checked the thermostat & it was still set at 70 but it was 73 degrees. I asked about it & Allison said she would check, but there were some issues with it the day before. By the time the bridal party arrived, it was 78 degrees. I asked if there were fans we could bring down as the groom felt sick & couldn’t even eat. We were given one fan. I had to go up the two flights of stairs to the loft area to get another fan we used earlier in the day. We had guests leave because it was so hot. When I asked again about the air & if there were any more fans we could use, I was told in a very condescending way that the air is working as hard as it can but it can’t keep up because it is so hot & there are so many people. I know how air conditioning works & did not appreciate the tone that was used. I explained that there was no air coming out of the vents. The thermostat showed that the air was on & was set at 70. Therefore, the air WAS NOT WORKING AT ALL. Fortunately, we had a great DJ who moved the party outside and it turned out to be a wonderful evening. I called the event director, Renee, the following Monday. I was told she would investigate my concerns & get back to me. I had to text her the next day because she did not contact me. I was basically told that the air conditioning issue was out of their control & they were sorry we were disappointed. I responded with this was a one-time event. This is not a product that could be returned & replaced. I figured at the very least I would have been offered a free round of golf or a gift card for dinner. She told me she would pass the information on to the owner who was out of town. Over two weeks later, I finally was contacted by the owner. To say his customer service skills were lacking would be an understatement. They were non-existent! He told me that they had someone look at the air conditioner & there was nothing wrong with it. If I didn’t feel any air coming out of the vents, then I must have been checking the return vent. I assured him that I knew what a return vent was and no, we checked the correct vents. He proceeded to tell me that I could have cost them their liquor license because his security guards confiscated alcohol from members of the wedding party. I apologized & said I had no idea that had happened. He then accused me of lying about the entire situation. How could I NOT know that the wedding party brought in alcohol? It was MY wedding party. He then pointed out things we weren’t charged for like the back room. I reiterated that we were unable to use the back room because they had two events already scheduled. He then told me three people told him we were in the back room. He said I was being unreasonable, just wanted money & hung up on me. We spent over $11,000 at Deer Ridge for our daughter’s wedding & all he could say was sorry you were disappointed. If we had been made aware of the air conditioning issue, prior to the day of, we could have done something to help. Brought our own fans. Done something to make it more bearable. The way the situation was handled was unacceptable. When you are running an event center, then you need to have a plan in place to deal with the air conditioner not working because it will happen one day. One box fan & one oscillating fan is not a plan. The fact is during the entire year of planning, we never met the event director. She was not present for the event & obviously did not provide her staff with the proper direction on what to do in a situation like this. Neither she nor the owner seem to care at all about the customer once they have your money. Being accused of lying & just trying to get money is unacceptable. We understand that things happen & made the best of a bad situation, but I would not recommend Deer Ridge for any event.

While Deer Ridge was a beautiful venue for our wedding the staff has an extremely poor service attitude. Specifically, their “wedding coordinator”. I was lied to about how the condition of the greens would look on the day of our wedding, we were given the wrong food at our reception, and the wedding coordinator was absent from our wedding rehearsal and we were not informed she would not be there until a couple days before. My guests were harassed about their age when trying to get drinks at the bar, accused of being underage. I understand there are laws that need to be followed which is why we paid for two security guards at our reception, the situation was not handled tactfully. When asking for a partial refund of rental chairs and gazebo space as discussed with the wedding coordinator she was rude and would not have the owner call me as requested. I was given a reply email stating she had discussed my concerns with the owner and it was decided I do not deserve a refund, if I needed anything further to email him… This is not how a customer should be treated. This was my wedding day and it was nothing but a headache!
