When we first started looking for a wedding venue, we didn't know about this boat. We had seen it for years and knew it was a hotel but never knew it was a restaurant with wonderful food & a wedding venue. We came in for a tour & fell in love. Our original venue was plain, boring, & nothing to WOW you with. But this boat is adorable & inspirable. You have to have a love for older historical places because boy does this boat have a colorful history. We booked it immediately which fully inspired our decor & theme. I'm pretty crafty and I created "Passport" Save the Dates & "Boarding Pass" Invitations that had the boats emblem on it. Everyone thought it was authentic invitations from the boat itself. We used driftwood from Folsom Lake with faux flowers as centerpieces. My Husband to be made pier poles for our ceremony. The staff was awesome we really couldn't have ask for a better coordinator. Janice B. really went above & beyond to make the experience from start to finish smooth & really put my mind at ease. The night of the wedding the servers were friendly & the food was really great (That was straight from our guests). I didn't hear any complaints about the quality of the food. We had our ceremony at 6:00pm on the Landing Dock just along the side of the boat. The landing dock has been fully replaced and I was thankful for that. It was a hot day but at that time the dock is shaded & a cool breeze was running through & complementary water was served also. We had our reception in the Paddlewheel Saloon and at night the large window shows all the lights of the city & is very romantic. The room has a bar in it & the dance floor right in front of the big red paddlewheel.
I would recommend this venue to everyone. Take a tour, learn the history, View the photos online, & head up to their bar and grill afterwards. Sit out on the deck overlooking the river. Be sure to try their flourless chocolate cake with vanilla bean Ice cream. You will be amazed like we were.

The Delta King in Old Sacramento was a beautiful venue and made our wedding day perfect. If you enjoy something with history the Delta King is full of it! Super unique and in a great location. The staff is very helpful and even though there was some problems with communication due to the event manager changing our wedding turned out perfect. We can't wait to go back to the Delta King for lunch because the food there was amazing. Our guests enjoyed their meals the day of the wedding and so did we.

I thought an elegant wedding would never be possible unless I planned to spend tens of thousands of dollars. Using the Delta King provided an elegant, beautiful location for both our ceremony and reception. We even stayed our in the Captain's Quarters for our first night as man and wife. It was a nice room, but we didn't like getting woken up by the train that would rumble on by every so often (the boat never leaves the dock). The Delta King provides a "free" wedding planner (it's in quotations because she comes with the cost of the venue) and she was a great asset. We had approximately 50-60 people at our wedding and I believe it cost my parents less than a couple thousand for use of the ceremony & reception location, food, tables, chairs, and use of a room before the wedding for me.

Overall, great staff and service. Staff were extremely responsive when addressing my concerns and serving my guests. The food - grilled NY steak and sea bass were excellent at the food tasting, but the flavor not as vibrant on the day of our event - so points were subtracted for my rating. Still, we had a great time, and if we had to do it again, would select the Delta Kingst for our 10/19/13 reception. My recommendation, request the chef (or a chef with comparable skills) who prepared the items for the food tasting for your event.
