Detroit Glam performed hair and makeup for our wedding, and I could not be happier with this decision. As someone who struggles with wearing makeup, I loved everything about my makeup and hair that day. Carson and Andrea went out of their way to make me (and all the girls) feel special, and I was so relaxed that morning knowing it was going to be just perfect. I knew we were in good hands. Definitely would recommend, they were so sweet, professional, and friendly. What a great team through and through. -

Jordyn was extremely responsive and helpful throughout the planning process and flexible as we increased the number of hair & makeup services from 6 to 9 and eventually 10 family members and bridesmaids! The two artists who came on our wedding day were right on time and got everyone looking spectacular with enough time to spare and we didn’t feel rushed at all. All 10 of us were so happy that the girls were able to accommodate our very different styles and visions, including some touch ups and my mom redoing her eyebrows 3 times! Not to mention that the girls were fun and easy to talk to, and offered to defend us when the florist showed up and was very rude to me. -

We had Carson from Detroit Glam do our hair and makeup. She came to our hotel and did the hair and makeup for myself (bride), the MOH, MOB, and MOG. She was friendly and able to give each woman exactly what she wanted as everyone had different hair and makeup requests. It all turned out great! -

Erica Sent on 02/05/2018She came onsite to the MGM Grand Detroit to do my hair and makeup, as well as my Mom’s makeup. She arrived early, got setup and we actually finished an hour ahead of schedule – which was lovely! So relaxed and easy-going!
She was a joy to chat with and my hair and makeup, as well as my Mom’s makeup, stayed in place all day!
Definitely recommend for your wedding day!

All of my bridesmaids and flower girls loved how their hair/makeup turned out. Annie did my hair and makeup and I couldn't have been happier. She did an amazing job! -

User2266027 Sent on 08/11/2015They did a beautiful job with hair and makeup for my wedding. My only negative comment is that some of my bridesmaid's up-dos started to fall out after the ceremony. However, it was an incredibly hot day and there was much running around going on. If anything, I would just make sure you think your hair is super secure before you head out for the big day. The makeup and up-do styles were beautiful though. They also were able to apply makeup for one of my girls (using her makeup) at no charge since she was allergic to the airbrush makeup they use. -
User1634306 Sent on 05/27/2014Jordyn did the hair and makeup for myself and my bridesmaids for my wedding. It was wonderful having her come to us so we did not have to travel. Everyone's hair looked great, however, all of us were just not happy with our makeup.
My makeup was not blended and my eyeliner was not even in the slightest. I ended up having to fix everything after she left. She also really up charged me for 'contour' and my face didn't even look contoured! She is really nice and I 100% recommend them for hair but I would hire her for makeup, it was just too sloppy for me. -
Abagail Sent on 11/07/2017I wasn't going to write a review. I was going to let it go. I cannot. I'm still mad. My experience with this company and its owner was awful from the beginning.
I had Detroit Glam booked for a trial run. I had emailed them and asked to not use a particular artist as her style was not my style. Rather than be offered another artist the email back was on the defensive and she immediately said well we will give you your money back and you can find another company. To this I was quite aggravated. We would have paid $1500 to this company but I couldn't simply be offered another artist.
We managed to move past this and I really wanted to give them a try because as you see their pictures are gorgeous..
I showed up at my trail on November 5th and was welcomed. I went in and started showing her pictures of what I wanted. I took my hair down and without brushing it she just started curling it. (The pictures of my desired hair did not need any curling) Finishing the curls she started back combing the crown of my head. (again also not necessary for my desired style) And she started pinning. Pinning piles of hair to my head. In no organized fashion. Just shoving bobby pins in to hold up my long hair. What was created on the back of my head looked like a true birds nest. I should be able to post pictures as they would speak for themselves. Now I could not see what she was doing to the back of my head until it was done for those of you wondering why i didn't say something. Next make up.
She started air brushing my foundation which was the total wrong color. I did not notice immediately. She did and only said something after I said this might be the wrong color. She said "yeah I was going to say something about that" but chose not to until I asked. For my eye shadow I wanted rose gold and pinks... I had showed her several pictures. She began applying eye shadow.. browns and whites... she did not fill in my eye brows the way I asked her to and my blush looked like a child did -

User1957239 Sent on 12/08/2014I started a conversation with Jordan of Detroit Glam. She said she would send me all the information that I needed and a contract, but first I had to make a deposit. I mailed her a check for $50.00 at the beginning of April. The contract did not arrive for OVER A MONTH. I emailed her to check on this - beginning to worry - and she said that she was very busy and she can't get things to everyone when the want them and I should receive something soon. She had gotten engaged during this time - so she needed more time to get everything settled. As much as I can related, I still needed to get the contract for the wedding vendor. I finally received the contract that was very vague. It didn't have any details about the trial, my seven bridesmaids OR the price that I would be paying. Her prices had gone up on her website and so I tried to clarify with her via email. My wedding was less than three months away and she was very difficult to get a hold of. I asked about the trial - and although she originally told me that she would come to my house for the dry run, I now had to go to Shelby Twp to have my trial with her. I told her this wasn't fair to me since she originally told me she would come to my house, but she said no and that I needed to go to Shelby. I wanted to confirm the price with her after all this confusion with the trial and the price had magically gone up. A friend of mine with a later wedding date that I HAD REFERRED to her said she had a price of $110 for hair and makeup and fake lashes. But when I asked what my price was, she said the price is $110 for hair and makeup and fake lashes would cost $10 extra for each girl. When I started to ask what is up with this - she started getting snippy and said she didn't understand why she had to keep clarifying with me. That's when I gave up. I asked for my deposit back - and she said no. All this confusion wasn't fair to me.... and my friend ended up using her months later with the original, lower price.
