Delicious Food! Wonderful Service!

DJ’s catered for our our wedding last weekend and I couldn’t have asked for a better team! My husband and I were so impressed with the food and quality of service from this company! Their professionalism, enthusiasm, willingness to serve and genuine personalities impressed not only us, but our guests as well. DJ accommodated us in every way from start to end and I cannot day enough wonderful things about the FOOD! So delicious!!! He even provided a s'mores bar as part of our dessert menu. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone looking for a professional, hard-working and energetic team! You will not be disappointed!

Flexible and worked within our budget

They were very flexible and willing to build a menu within our budget. They staff member present for our dinner was very sweet and super polite. The food was delicious, they were on time, nothing but good things to say.

Highly Recommend!

DJ's Catering and Services was an excellent choice for our wedding. In planning, he was responsive, communicative, and accommodating. Our guests loved the food, and the staff was highly professional and more then helpful. We had an outdoor reception on one of the hottest days of the year, but they were prepared and helped us deal with the challenges it posed. We were very impressed with the quality of service and the food!

Fantastic and Delicious

Throughout the course of selecting, planning and finally completing our wedding catering in early May 2019, our experience with DJ’s only grew better each step of the way. From our initial correspondence through email to our first meeting and tasting at their location in Buckeystown, our initial impressions were nothing but positive and professional. DJ is clearly a passionate and creative chef who wants nothing more than for people to have the best culinary experience possible. Coming into the tasting, we knew we wanted to have a breakfast/brunch style meal, and DJ was able to deliver precisely what we were looking for, with very little needed input from us. The food was delicious and we signed our contract that very night!

We couldn’t be happier with our choice. From the custom omelettes to the Nutella and strawberry crepes, to the chicken and waffles (this is making my mouth water all over again!) our guests were delighted and consistently commented on how delicious and fun our meal was. DJ was also able to work with dietary preferences and restrictions easily and our guests were thrilled with the results. And the final piece being donuts (Krumpy’s) made the best finish for our final sweet tooth cravings at the end of the night!

Not only will we be working with DJ for our catering needs in the future, but we are letting all of our friends know that the professionalism that we received was unmatched by any other caterer we’ve ever worked with. If you are even thinking about a catered event, I would highly encourage you to reach out, and see what you think, as we were 110% satisfied with our experience!

Brunch Wedding Reception

DJ's catered our wedding this past weekend. EVERY part of working with DJ and the team was seamless and stress-free. We planned our wedding pretty quickly and I'm so so so glad we found DJ's. The food was absolutely unreal. We did a brunch reception with an omelette bar, waffle bar, fried chicken, crabcakes, etc. The food was unbelievable and the price was even better. The service was friendly and helpful all day. The entire team exceeded our expectations. My husband is Mexican so a lot of our guests are native Spanish speakers. Without any request from us, DJ made sure one of his staff members was bilingual so there were no language barrier issues. He really thinks of all the little details to make the day run smoothly! We were treated like actual people throughout the entire process and we will forever be grateful. If you want the best food you've ever tasted, incredible service, and an amazing price....look no further than DJ's Catering!!!

We were looking for a catering company for our wedding which I assumed would be such an easy thing to check off our to do list. Boy was I wrong! As I began to reach out, I was not getting any responses from catering companies close to our venue. The companies local to where we live were actively engaged but their prices were insanely high for next to nothing being provided. I felt an extreme amount of anxiety until my mom happened to find DJ's Catering online which was only 15 minutes away from our wedding venue. She sent an email and DJ himself responded right away! DJ was so warm and welcoming to us from start to finish. He gave us everything we could ask for and so much more! We went for a tasting and I couldn't believe how incredible the food was. DJ worked with us in every aspect as if I was his only customer! We got a lot of compliments from our wedding guests about the food immediately. People were not even coming up to say hello; they were raving about how great the food was :). I couldn't believe how delicious it was myself! For the mass amount of people we had, this far exceeded my expectations! The presentation of the food and even his staff far exceeded my expectations. DJ even showed up for our walk thru a few days prior to make sure he knew exactly what we were doing, exactly when. That brought me so much relief as we had to bring in all outside vendors which meant coordinating among the masses was a challenge. I trusted him from start to finish because he was not only professional but knowledgeable and detail oriented. I simply cannot say enough great things about this company! I am looking forward to watching them grow and continue their success in the industry. If you are in need of a catered event, don't look elsewhere -- DJ's is the spot!!!

DJ and his team made my wedding day absolutely perfect. After shopping around and talking to many caterers, we went with DJ initially because he treats you like a person and not like another business transaction which we found with many people in the area. He goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect and you are comfortable leading up to your event.
The food was also AMAZING and we have had people raving about it ever since. If you want a caterer that will deliver on what they promise, has great food, and is easy to work with, look no further. Thank you DJ!!

My husband and I hired DJ's to cater our wedding in October and we could not have been happier!! DJ is such a friendly person and you can tell he really cares about his customers and has a passion for what he does. I was so surprised at the flexibility as far as deciding your menu - DJ will work with you and literally make anything you're looking for for your event! He does a tasting as well to make sure you're happy with your choice, or in my case to make up my mind on what I wanted to go with! You get an AMAZING value for the price, too. Him and his team work hard to help make your day as perfect as possible, and everything was great! From sitting down to talk details and work on the menu to the day of, I always felt like I was in good hands. I would definitely choose DJ's as your caterer for events!!

This company is amazing. Food was incredible, they were flexible and catered to our needs. Prices were great and they were attentive, helpful; making it as stress free for us as possible. We had great appetizers, crab balls and a cheese display, with several meats for dinner and wonderful cupcakes for desert. We got married at Ostertag Vistas (who only has a select few approved vendors, so you have to specially request them) With the great food and service they provided I'm positive they will be added to that list soon.

Exceeded all expectations and made our most important day a feast to remember!

David and his team went above in beyond in executing our menu! They went above and beyond to ensure everyone was happy and well fed. Their professionalism and ability to do whatever necessary to accommodate the ever changing timeline that can come with weddings. I’ve also had the pleasure of being a guest at several weddings as my friends and I all love David’s food and service! The presentation, food and service are superior to any other wedding or event I’ve attended.

David Jones, the owner chef of DJ's, is great to work with. He takes his time to to work with you and makes sure he understands what you are looking for.
The food is amazing. Well made with quality ingredients that makes all the difference. I am a foodie and very picky and David makes sure that the food has depth of flavor, texture and is also visually appealing as well.
He responds to your questions quickly and is very professional in his treatment. He is flexible that is for sure!! I am getting married in NC and he will be going all the way there to do my wedding, I know there are local caterers in the Charlotte are but DJ's is THAT GOOD!!!! I

DJ's Catering was everything I could have hoped for an more. I work in food service and so my standards are probably higher than the average person, and DJ and his staff exceeded them. We hired DJ's to cater our 80 person wedding reception. The food was absolutely perfect. He was willing to do any style of service we wanted, and we ended up with a buffet with pasta bar and prime rib carving station. The staff was professional and clean. DJ himself took the time to give us a tasting before we signed our contract, and he had us from the first bite. Prices are very reasonable, and for the quality DJ's is probably the best you're going to find. Every person at our reception raved about the food, and I would recommend DJ and his staff to anyone looking to host the perfect dinner. Job well done, thank you very much for being a part of our special day.

I give it a 10!! The food tasted great folks, our guests of 100+ family and friends went back for seconds. No leftovers, no disappointment, and our wonderful caterer was a no hassle, great experience. I will tell you why, they set-up the stations so that the flow work perfectly, no one was bumping into each other, and not only did they clean everything up, they also went around to each table and took care of our quests to the TEE! We were very delighted how everything turned out, I would recommend DJ's catering and Service to everyone. Excellent Service and excellent food!! Thank you!

DJ's recently catered my wedding reception in June. I highly recommend their services to anyone. Guests raved about our food that night and for weeks to come. The buffet set up was nice and all food was served at the perfect temp. The carving station was a perfect touch. The staff were very polite and attentive to my guests. David, the owner was easy to get a hold of and fast to answer any questions I had. He was great to work with and stands by what he promises. DJ's offers delicious food at an unbeatable value.

DJ's Catering is great to work with. David is a terrific chef with a great product. Great for any event.

That being said, don't miss the chicken. Classic Maryland Broasted Chicken. Worth scheduling an event just to order.

Unfortunate Service

Let me start by saying at first David was so kind and helpful with us and our wedding. He was so accommodating to the menu we wanted and was so professional whenever we spoke.

Things went wrong closer to our wedding. We had a 30 day walkthrough scheduled for a while and David was 2.5 hours late. We let it slide since he was clearly dealing with some personal issues which he shared with us and we felt for him. But the month leading up to our wedding, it seemed like he was very hard to get a reach of and kept saying "got it" to things that he didn't follow through on.

Our cupcakes looked nothing like the ones we discussed multiple times and they were just laid out on the dessert table instead of on the cupcake tier that he said multiple times he had and would display them on. They honestly looked and tasted like store bought cupcakes you ate in elementary school and looked and tasted nothing like the ones we tried when we had our first tasting with him. They were 100% a last minute thing and were not even the flavors we discussed. We had multiple guests tell us they tasted stale and store bought. We didn't get to eat much as most couples don't at their wedding but we heard the dinner tasted fine. We had a few guests complain that the staff would tell them they were out of a dish like salmon, only to bring out an entire other dish of salmon 10 minutes later. DJ also told us not to worry because he'll never run out of food and yet the guests that were served last told us there was barely any food left. He told us we'd have more than enough leftovers. A staff member of his took half a tray of chicken and put it in a
random fridge and that is the only food that was leftover. The staff member didn't inform anyone of the leftover chicken and where she put it, so it was found days later by the venue and thrown out.

Now, I'm not sure what went wrong between him and our wedding coordinator, but she seemed extremely upset by him, and I could tell he was very annoyed by her as well. Whatever did happen, I don't think its fair or professional that it was taken out on our wedding. We were told that the staff would be cleaning up plates and bussing tables, and yet our guests tables were a mess the entire night. Our guests were taking their plates to the staff members so they had room to eat dessert, which was so embarrassing. No one's water was being refilled and not one staff member even came to our table, the bride and groom, to refill our waters or clean our plates. Our wedding coordinator was running around cleaning people's plates off their tables and getting people water.

The part that upset us the most was that David and his team up and left before the wedding was even over, without informing anyone, leaving everything a disaster for us to clean. Not one table was bussed, not one dish was collected, nothing. We were told him and his team would be there until an hour after our wedding ended, 1am, cleaning and that they would be the last ones to leave. They up and left at 11:30pm, before the DJ was even done playing, with no explanation, no answer to our calls and texts, nothing. Our photographer said that was the first wedding he worked where the caterers left before him. Our wedding coordinator and our wedding party were in the barn cleaning everything up until 4 am. We were so upset and everyone was so exhausted. My husband has tried to contact David to figure out what happened and has gotten no reply.

We are extremely disappointed because we actually really liked DJ and thought we hit a goldmine. We were ready to recommend him to everyone and then that happened, ruining everyone's night.

Extremely disappointed!

I have to say that overall, I was disappointed with DJ’s Catering Service. Essentially, what we had agreed upon before was not met on the wedding day.

The most glaring discrepancy was that we had agreed that the burgers would be cooked to order. Instead, we were served burgers in a chafing dish and they weren’t even identified as to which one was which. We had also discussed that the burgers would be cut into quarters so that people were able to taste more than one burger, which was not the case. Another issues with the burgers were the size we had expected. They were extremely thin. I also had several guests complain that their burgers were either over or under cooked. Talking with several people they told me that their burgers were close to rare and others were close to well done.

Another issue was the appetizers. We had discussed getting caprese salad skewers. Instead we got tomato and mozzarella on a toothpick. I was expecting basil to be included and a much better presentation.

We were missing several toppings as well. I explicitly asked for feta cheese and tzatziki sauce for the lamb burgers. If I had known that they wouldn’t be there I would not have requested lamb. I also asked for avocado or guacamole which were not there. My guests also mentioned that many of the toppings were empty when they went up to build their burgers. The staff was not refilling the condiments as they were being eaten.

Desserts were also a disappointment. The way the desserts were displayed made it look pathetic! The cupcakes were bite size, not mini. The pies were good but the filling did not taste as good as when we tasted them. Honestly, they tasted canned. DJ also forget the one dessert that I had specifically requested.

Otherwise I felt that the service was very disorganized. I had expected DJ to personally be there and he was not, instead his brother substituted and was so lost. He didn’t have a copy of the schedule and therefore was struggling to keep up with our tight timeline.

Overall, I felt that DJ was great at saying yes to everything we wanted, but when it came to delivery we were disappointed. The one good thing I can say was that my guests were not disappointed and didn’t know what we discussed. Therefore, they had a great time. As for my husband and I, we do not feel that DJ provided what we paid for and would not be able to recommend DJ’s Catering Services to other couples. We reached out to DJ after the wedding voicing our disappointment and never received a response back.

I am very sorry you feel this way. I did come to the house after the wedding to try to apologize and make amends. I was told the guest were happy and My brother wasn’t disorganized he was just double checking things to make sure people were happy as he is always told to do and does. When I saw you at your house after the wedding I did say sorry forgetting the dessert and if there is anyway to make it I would be more then welcome to. I am sorry once again forgetting a few small details. Once again as well I would be more then welcome to make it up to you however possible. I hope you have a great day.

Went out of business

We had to reschedule our wedding reception to next year due to Covid and put down a lot of money to this vendor. I checked today to make sure he was still in business and come to find out, he went under. I tried calling and emailing and he has shut off everything. Never even contacted us to say he was out of business. Now we are out $6k and no caterer for next year...
