Amazing Band!!

My wife and I hired DownCity Band simply because they were one of two bands on our venue’s “Approved Vendors” list. We looked them up on WeddingWire and saw their good reviews, but were admittedly a little nervous about them since we hadn’t heard them play before. All of that concern went out the window (or rather, tent flap) as soon as they played our entrance song, Dancing Queen by ABBA. They were fantastic!! People were coming up to us all night saying how great the band was. The dance floor was packed all night long as they played one great song after another. They’re energy was electric, and they really made for a fun, memorable evening for everyone there. We can’t recommend them highly enough. And they’re so affordable!!! Worth absolutely every penny.

Best band ever!

What can I say but ALOT about Down City Band!! If you are debating whether to hire a DJ or a band and you come across this band - I highly suggest you hire DCB for your wedding or function!!
From the moment I reach out to David he was very quick to get back to me and helped me thru the process. I was not a bride that had very specific songs or requirements, and David gave me many suggestions and I had trust they would make our day great, and that they did.
I did my due diligence and reached out to a couple of other bands and DJ's to compare. By far for what you get with DCB ever penny is more than worth it( they are more than reasonable). One of the members played the keyboards for our entrance for the ceremony plus they had 3 band members playing for our cocktail hour. Then the full band played for the reception, and they rocked it!!
Every person at my wedding, literally came up to me at some point during the night to tell me "this band is AMAZING, what a great find! " I couldn't agree more...

The best!

DownCity Band was AMAZING to work with. They were so great with communication leading up to the wedding which really put me at ease. And then at the wedding they were INCREDIBLE! Our guests have nonstop been talking about the music and how good they were. The dance floor was packed the entire night, I couldn’t be happier that I worked with them!

Couldn't Suggest DownCity Band More!

I couldn't suggest DownCity Band more for your wedding or event!! While looking for wedding bands we went to see them play at a bar in RI and from the first song (Respect - Aretha Franklin) we were sold! Such great musicians/singers and so much fun energy! Dave was super helpful and great to work with while planning and every guest at our wedding had nothing but compliments. They had everyone on the dance floor from start to finish and were truly the highlight of our rainy beach wedding! We want to have another event just to have DownCity play again! You will not regret hiring this band!

The best decision we made at our wedding

I looked around halfway through the night, and every single person at our wedding of about 130 people was on the dance floor. Downcity Band was incredible, from their energy, vocals to their instrumentals.

They were so great to work with leading up to the wedding and also did an incredible job on our instrumental ceremony music. I cannot recommend them enough. Book them before they become the best wedding band in all of New England because it's going to happen.

Best Wedding Band Ever!!!

Down City Band was the best wedding band!! We had such a positive and fun experience working with Dave and the band and couldn’t have asked for anything better. The band has such quality musicians, amazing talent, and such an extraordinary repertoire of talent that makes all the songs sound amazing!! We had so much fun dancing and signing along and so did all of our guests! We highly recommend Down City Band! Dave was so easy to work with, responsive, and we couldn’t have had a better experience. We love Down City Band, and still continue to go see them perform, even after our wedding!!

DownCity Band is an amazing band to hire for your wedding! They have an affordable package for your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. They also will learn any amount of specific songs that you’re interested in for first dances! Dave was a great communicator and awesome to work with. We highly suggest DownCity band! They will keep your guests dancing all night with their variety of music.

Best band ever

Thank you so much to Down City Band for making our wedding the best night of our lives! They played the best music, kept everyone on the dance floor the entire night, and were so fun! We got so many compliments throughout the night about the band and honestly couldn’t have imagined anything better. Dave was also amazing to work with throughout the planning process. Fantastic communication and made everyone so easy for us!

My friends and family suggested DownCity for our wedding band and boy, am I happy they did! The months prior to the wedding Dave was amazing to work with and answered any questions I had! At the wedding, DownCity showed out in every way! They prioritized playing songs we chose as “must plays” and kept the party going! If they didn’t know a song, they were able to play the recording easily. Their ability to interact with the guests is top notch; they even came and danced with us! I can’t say enough good things about DownCity and highly recommend them for your wedding or event!!

Amazing Band!!!

DownCity was the perfect band for our wedding. They were very accommodating to all of our needs and had everyone dancing from the moment they started to the end of the night. I'd highly recommend them and their amazing, versatile group of musicians and singers.

Great vibe, great band!

Band was great. For a wedding you need people who have some life and charisma, which they have. They are flexible and do a good job playing off the crowd. Mixed in a good balance of classics along with more modern music. Would recommend them to anyone.

Best Wedding Band Ever!

Down City Band was absolutely perfect. Communication was easy and David was super responsive and helpful with any questions leading up to the day. Day of they showed up early to be sure everything was perfect. The dance floor was full ALL NIGHT. People are still raving about how wonderful Down City Band was. Best band ever!

Dave and the band were the best! Dave was so helpful leading up to the event and they were a HUGE hit at the wedding! We are almost two months out since the wedding and I am still hearing from guests about how much they loved Down City Band! Would definitely recommend them for all future weddings! :)

Amazing experience with DownCity Band!

What a great band! We had planned our wedding back in 2020 before the pandemic put a halt on our plans, and needed to push off our party until summer of 2021. That said, David was incredibly responsive, supportive, and flexible in helping us to pivot. Even up to a couple of weeks prior to our event, we were sending requests for the ceremony music and they were incredibly accommodating.

The reception was stellar and hands down to the singers for charging up the energy! We had an incredible time dancing the night away, and months later I am still receiving compliments on the band from family and friends. You can't go wrong with this great group of musicians, and there's nothing quite like the experience of live music!

Downcity is the best wedding band in america

From the moment we heard DownCity we knew they were the only band wanted at our wedding. If you've seen them play or perused their website, you know that few bands can hold a compete. We contacted Dave deep in the uncertainty of 2020 and more than once had to put the conversation on hold while we waited to see how June 2021 would shake out. Dave and the band were always cautiously optimistic and extremely professional, keeping themselves and us up to date on the latest state regulations as they changed almost daily. In the end, the stars aligned and we got the non-stop dance party wedding we'd always dreamed of with DownCity keeping the dance floor full all night. They were able to accomodate all our weird requests (like a motown/soul/disco/funk only setlist, though I'm sure they do a mean rendition of Don't Stop Believing) and answer all our neurotic questions (including a very last minute ceremony music change, which included learning two new songs) to ultimately helping us figure out what would make the day feel special to us.

Dave is a true pro and from the first time we spoke on the phone I knew we DownCity was going to make the reception special. We would recommend them to anyone for any event. DownCity was everything we wanted and more for our wedding and they were a dream to work with.

Incredible

We fell in love with Down City Band after seeing them perform in Newport! They were so helpful and responsive leading up to the wedding (especially in a pandemic world). They were willing to try new things and they knocked it out of the park with the songs we asked them to learn for our special dances. They kept the energy up the whole wedding and guests are still talking about how great they were! I would highly recommend them to any other couple, especially for a dancing crowd.

Hiring the Down City Band was the best decision that I made for my wedding. They have an extensive song list and learned three songs for me that were not previously on it. They covered the ceremony music, cocktail music and dance music all with great talent and excellent professionalism. Despite the Covid atmosphere, everyone had an amazing time and loved the band. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to up their wedding game!

Phenomenal Wedding Band

I cannot say enough good things about this band. They were absolutely amazing and so beyond our expectations for how great a wedding band could be!! If the band was playing, the dance floor was packed and they did a great job at making sure they had all the details and name pronunciations correct. They learned every song we asked them to perfectly and were the easiest to work with - very professional and kind. The band and the food were the 2 most important things to us and we couldn’t be happier that we went with Down City Band! Lastly, the value of this band is pretty phenomenal given competition in the area is often double and they played for ceremony, cocktail and reception-HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! If you guys read this review, thank you SO much :)

I cannot say enough good things about this band. They were absolutely amazing and so beyond our expectations for how great a wedding band could be!! If the band was playing, the dance floor was packed and they did a great job at making sure they had all the details and name pronunciations correct. They learned every song we asked them to perfectly and were the easiest to work with - very professional and kind. The band and the food were the 2 most important things to us and we couldn’t be happier that we went with Down City Band! Lastly, the value of this band is pretty phenomenal given competition in the area is often double and they played for ceremony, cocktail and reception-HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! If you guys read this review, thank you SO much :)

Have a Party with DownCity

If you want to create a party, DownCity Band delivers. They have it all: horns, strings, drums, vocals, choreography, enthusiasm... In terms of preparation, it was very easy to work with DownCity so no need to stress. Their professionalism was outstanding, as was the hoppin' dance floor their music helped to create.

Amazing band above and beyond our expectations!

Down City Band were absolutely amazing at our wedding on 10/5/19! Dave was so easy to work with and really helped create our vision and the band was flexible and accommodating with our requests. Jessica even jumped right in and straightened out my dress and veil before I went down the aisle! They kept the energy up all night and I still have people asking where we found such an incredible band. Thanks so much to Jessica, Maceo, Dave and the rest of the band for their outstanding hard work and enthusiasm. You made our day so very special.

Talented, professional, FUN!

DownCity Band was an absolute blast at our wedding! They were so accommodating and TALENTED, we have received numerous compliments from our wedding guests, and we had the best time on the dance floor. Fun, energetic band!

Terrific band for a wedding. My guests had a great time dancing. The band manager is very responsive and the band is willing to learn new songs as requested. I would definitely recommend Down City!

High Energy and Fun Wedding Band!

We were so glad to have chosen DownCity Band for our wedding. They kept our entire guest list dancing the entire time and played a great mix of new/old/and top 40 songs that everyone would be happy with!
