Danielle Sent on 07/21/2012Edible dreams made a fantastic cake for our wedding. They customized our cake so that it resembled exactly what we imagined. They had no problem doing everything we asked on the cake and it came out awesome. The staff was very friendly and helpful and even threw in some great ideas. And most importantly it was delicious!!!! -

Disappointing
We used Edible Dreams for our wedding. We wanted to do a small cake to cut and then have a cupcake tower. We ordered 144 cupcakes to cover one cupcake per person to be safe along with some other desserts. The cake and cupcakes were delicious however the order was messed up and only 40 cupcakes arrived on the day of the wedding. The caterer tried to call when they came across it but there was no answer. We were pretty disappointed as the cupcake tower was one of things we were looking forward to the most on our wedding day. I’m not sure how it happened bc every time I called with a question or to check my balance I would review the order with person on phone because I wanted to triple check so avoid problems. Also, when preparing cupcakes as the main dessert for a wedding of 140 people there wasn’t a suspicion of only making 36? The next day after our wedding we went to return the tower we were allowed to borrow and informed him of the mistake. It looked like he truly felt bad about the situation and gave us some money back. The desserts were delicious so I would recommend with any baker making sure the order form is listed with quantities of each item and double checking several times. -

My wife is known for her love of chocolate chip cookies. You can put her in a room with every kind of dessert imaginable and she would walk straight to a platter with a chocolate chip cookies. So... we thought it would be fun and unique to order a special custom wedding cake. It would be chocolate chip cookie themed and have multiple chocolate chip cookie layers baked into the cake. After several tastings with different vendors, we hired Edible Dream Cakes because they were enthusiastic about the idea and hit a Bulls-Eye with what we were looking for at the initial tasting. We were so excited about the wedding cake that we told all of our friends and family leading up to the big day. Unfortunately, we never could have predicted the nightmare that followed.
On the wedding day, the cake looked right... on the outside it had a simple, classic layered shape with white frosting and several chocolate chip cookies set in a pattern. It wasn't until after it was cut and served that we discovered it wasn't at all what we were promised. It was just a plain yellow cake with more white frosting in between layers. Confused, my wife called two days later to ask what had gone wrong and one of the employees claimed it was our fault due to a miscommunication that occurred during the last confirmation call before the wedding. The woman she spoke with was incredibly rude and not at all empathetic to the fact that she was genuinely upset about not getting her dream cake. We weren't given any apology or even at least acknowledgement that they made a mistake. After our honeymoon, my wife called several more times but could never get through to the owner. Eventually, her calls stopped going through completely and we realized she had been blocked. At this point, we actually felt like we had been scammed. She later decided to visit the shop in person with her mother, to confront the issue head on and demand a refund. Finally able to speak to the owner, he admitted the error and agreed to a refund after seeing pictures of the cake from our wedding day. A few more weeks pass and nothing happens. Yesterday, she had to conference call through her mom's phone (since her number was still blocked) and was told they no longer agree to the refund and instead offered to give us a $100 credit towards our next order.
My wife has been dragged through the mud and she never deserved how they treated her. This is a poorly-run business and you should not be able to get away with treating customers like this. A mistake can be forgiven but this level of disrespect is truly despicable. Please avoid this place at all costs. -

User1005674 Sent on 11/06/2012This was the worst experience of my wedding. They charged us $700 for a cake that, when delivered, turned out to not only be an eyesore, but 75% styrofoam as well. Only the middle layer of the cake was real, and the rest was sheet cake, which they had planned for us not to find out about. The cake wasn't even carrot cake, which was what we had asked for.The rest of my vendors were talented, honest, and a pleasure to work with. These people are none of these things.
