Amazing staff left our guests Wowed!
Our daughter got married at the El Monte Sagrado, a place we have visited often through her life. It was special to our family, so our daughter chose it for her wedding. We had guests from across the US who had never been to Taos but made the journey to celebrate the day. (Many will return!) An accident left the groom's father unable to attend. Melisha, the amazing event planner for El Monte Sagrado, helped us connect with Sweet William Photography so that we could capture the event to share with the groom's father. After a beautiful rehearsal on the Taos mountain lawn the day before the wedding day, it rained on the wedding day. You know that you are working with a dedicated event staff when you have to call so many last minute changes. Melisha and her staff did an amazing job. The staff was willing to go umbrella shopping three hours before the wedding! (I'm not sure Taos would have 100 umbrellas since it never rains all day in July!!) We moved the event inside to a lovely room overlooking the Sacred Circle. Planning the wedding and prior to the last minute shuffles, Melisha accommodated clergy and photographers from Texas and musicians and make up artists from Santa Fe and Albuquerque that she had never worked with. She helped us find Sweet William Photo and Videography who captured the event last minute so the groom's father could participate. It was a memorable event for everyone! Thanks to Melisha and all of the El Monte Sagrado staff that made the event a great triumph over the challenges! It was so meaningful to all! The most beautiful place to have a wedding in Taos. The hotel grounds are beautiful for pictures. Spa services were amazing. So relaxing and family and pet friendly. The sales department aka wedding planner was above and beyond amazing. Looking forward to going back to celebrate wedding anniversaries. The most beautiful place to have a wedding in Taos. El Monte Sagrado was out of a fairy tale. The landscape is so lush and green , with flowers and plants from all over the world . It makes for a beautiful setting to get married. We had our ceremony on the Taos Mountain Lawn and our reception in the sacred circle . It couldn't have been better. Melisha, the venue coordinator was also very helpful throughout the process to make sure we had what we wanted/needed. Friends and family from all over raved about how beautiful this resort was ! The rooms are so amazing, the food was amazing, the weather was perfect! Ah! ;)El Monte Sagrado was out of a fairy tale. poorly coordinated, poor communication
Very frustrating experience. It took over a month to get the venue booked. The chairs for my ceremony were not set up even at a half hour before the start of the ceremony. We had a written timeline laid out, and the venue coordinator decided to text me while I was taking wedding pictures and decided to hold the dinner for all of my guests despite everything running exactly on schedule. We were to host a cocktail meet up the night before, and the venue coordinator said she would let the bar manager know. When we showed up, it had not been communicated. It is now 25 days after my wedding and I still have not received a breakdown of what we paid for. I have tried calling corporate and have not received any communication back either.
The food is good and the venue is beautiful, it is just poorly organized.Very frustrating experience. It took over a month to get the venue booked. Worst Experience Ever
Worst experience ever, we were excited to get married in our home town at our first date location. However, El Monte was very unresponsive and unprofessional. We were treated horribly and ended up choosing another location. Avoid the agony and steer clear of this venue.
