  Embassy Suites was not big enough to have our wedding at, but we chose to have our first look here and for the bridesmaids to get ready here. It was absolutely perfect. The staff was so nice and even had wine and a cheese plate delivered to our room the night before the wedding. We also chose to stay here the night of the wedding!

  I had my NYE wedding ceremony and reception at the Embassy Suites and it was amazing! Olivia is the best to work with and extremely responsive! She helped us with so much for the wedding including the rehearsal and day of. On the day of the wedding and through out the wedding the staff at the Embassy Suites were so great and professional to work with. Everything was perfect! My groom and I had the best time and so did my guests! And, the Embassy Suites is a beautiful hotel! Perfect for a wedding! I definitely recommend the Embassy Suites and Olivia for a wedding or event!

  I had my wedding and reception at the Embassy suites downtown Portland in May 2013. I had about 50 out of town guests all staying at the hotel. We worked with the hotel for about a year planning and they were always accommodating, flexible and did an amazing job! The food was absolutely fabulous, we served Steelhead and steak and multiple people commented on just delicious their meal was. Olivia was so helpful and accommodating throughout the process it was truly wonderful to work with her. The updated room matched our colors perfectly and looked beautiful with a little up-lighting.
  
  All the guests that stayed at the hotel felt taken care of and enjoyed the breakfast and happy hour included in their stay. If you want to have an amazing event I would go with the Embassy Suites!

  Talk about fantastic service! We had our wedding here, plus about 30 family and friends stayed there for a long weekend. Everyone raved about the fantastic service all weekend and how much they loved the hotel. And the food was sooooo delicious! We were completely blown away at the tasting! Plus, each of our guests got a real-sized meal, not just a tiny piece of meat on a plate. Definite bang for your buck. Charlotte was our coordinator and was extremely helpful in the planning and made sure everything was executed perfectly. The rooms were all beautiful and they definitely took great care of me and my new husband. They made sure we were fed and watered throughout the entire long day, including food waiting for us in our honeymoon suite!
  
  It was a gorgeous venue, excellent service from beginning to end, great and friendly staff, and truly delicious food. It was the best wedding experience we could have ever wished for.

  Our day was absolutely perfect, thanks to Charlotte at the Embassy Suites, she is an amazing coordinator and goes above and beyond for you. She exceeded any and all of my expectations! I highly reccommend the Embassy Suites for your wedding reception, the Queen Marie ballroom is beautiful and the food was amazing.

  I worked with Charlotte Bell, senior catering manager at Embassy Suites Portland Downtown.
  She was wonderful to work with; very easy to get in touch with and replied back in timely manner to my inquiries via email or by phone.
  We met several time to go over the wedding day detail and on the wedding day the whole decoration and arrangements etc were executed beautifully.
  Everyone was wonderful to work with at the hotel.
  
  The only drawback was that they do not have a separate room for the wedding party to get ready before the ceremony. I booked a suite the night before the wedding. I slept in on the day of and had my hair and makeup artist come to the room so it worked out fine.

  Charlotte helped made our wedding a very special day. She was available to answer all of our questions and did whatever it took to help make our wedding day beautiful and within our budget. We recommend anyone to have their wedding here, they make it as easy as possible to make all arrangements for you wedding.

  Embassy Suites downtown and Pamela Shields were fantastic to work with. She and her team went above and beyond our expectations. Theres not much new I could write that the other reviews haven't already stated.
  Considering the state of the economy, I did a lot of research into venues and costs of various options. I looked into lower-budget locations where we would have to pay food caterers and rent tables, rent linens, rent chairs, rent settings, etc...and surprisingly enough, Embassy Suites pricing was extremely competitive to the point that I had to place a great value on the convenience of having the ceremony and reception all taken care of.
  I hear a lot of people talk about how stressed they were the day of their wedding. This was not the case for either of us. We were both extremely comfortable knowing that Pamela was on top of things. From the discounted rooms for our guests, to the bellhops taking care of luggage and gifts, to all those little details that you probably won't think of until the week before your wedding...Pamela and her team never questioned any of our requests, and we never had to remind or ask more than once.
  Every single detail of our wedding was perfect. We would not change a single thing about our wedding, especially having it at Embassy Suites downtown in the Queen Marie ballroom.
  Thank you Pamela for a great wedding! It was because of you that we both were able to actually ENJOY our wedding.

  It was such a pleasure to work with Pamela at Embassy Suites. It was a beautiful venue and a fantastic value for the wedding. The Queen Marie Ballroom was a perfect setting for our evening wedding and Pamela always was so professional and kind. I highly recommend this venue!!!!

  This is for the events/catering side of this hotel! This is a joint review from Ben and Sonia, written by Sonia! We wanted to do a destination wedding, and chose Portland, Oregon. We worked very closely with Olivia and Anny (and their teams), who are just the loveliest, friendliest, most personable people you'll meet. There is a sense of genuineness about them instantly- they're both basically unicorns. They were both super professional, and they were excellent to work with for my complex Indian wedding! We had a few snags along the way, Olivia and Anny dealt with it like total champs! And we always laughed a lot in our conversations! To maintain that balance of uber-professionalism and that human connection is super hard (and we interviewed a LOT of people/vendors)- and we definitely found it with them. We had trepidation about having our very detailed, multi-day, cultural event there initially, but Olivia and Anny pulled through (with many many many many phone calls and emails of both sides outlining expectations and realities) with FLYING colors. Our events were so amazing- the food turned out fantastic (after feedback was given on how we wanted it), and it did not seem like "hotel food'- which is definitely a category! Our guests LOVED it all, and honestly, Ben and I were not an easy team to please :) So that's saying a lot that they knocked it out of the park! :) The venue was gorgeous, and the location was prime. Everyone who came had a wonderful time, and we couldn't have been more happy with Olivia, Anny, their teams and overall this particular hotel! Definitely recommend for an event! Embassy Suites Portland - Downtown Olivia Olson Catering Manager was amazing to work with, and made the entire year of planning feel easy.   Loved this venue for our wedding! The staff was so professional, friendly and flexible. They really did everything they could to make our day perfect for us. You could tell they really cared and invested a lot to make sure we were happy. The ballrooms are beautiful and there are a ton of great photo opportunities. Their outside venue opportunity is what really sold us! We had the perfect day!

  I had the best experience dealing with the Embassy Suites hotel throughout the entire process of planning my wedding. Pamela Shields was extremely helpful with everything.

She also sent me a list of preferred vendors and all were reputable. We ended up choosing one of the DJ's from her list.
  
  The day of the wedding, Pamela and the Embassy Suites went above and beyond. I arrived at the hotel a bit late and the valet took care of my car without any question. The hotel took all the favors, menus, table numbers, and place cards and set them up even though they didn't have to. Pamela stayed until well into the reception to make sure that the entire evening went smoothly.

  The wedding was held in the less popular Colonel Lindberg ballroom. I was very happy with the whole night. The staff was very responsive and catered to all of our needs. Pamela, the senior catering manager, was there for most of the wedding and was also very helpful. The only reason I didn't give them a 5.0 was some difficulty getting the room block promised (kept running out and never seemed to have any on the shoulder days) for our guests, and although the cost of things were very reasonable for the fabulous service, I still don't like the (customary) 22% service charge on top of it all. However, I would still highly recommend the Embassy Suites to any prospective couple. Don't be afraid to use the ballroom we did - it was fabulous. A lot of people want the other ballroom with higher ceilings but I found ours was very nice and intimate even with 120 people, with no crowding at all.
