The year of 2020 was HUGE! Especially that special date of 10/10/20. We wanted to make sure we got Ember Studio so we booked 2 years before our wedding! I had the honor of working with Mike Moon and another local photographer in NC. Mike is a man of his craft. He knows his way in and around a camera and has no problem explaining why he does certain things. We got married at this beautiful gothic/medieval castle and his photos went harmonious with our theme. My photos were stunning. So many of my family members and friends complimented the photo quality. They even said they talked to Mike at the wedding and were so interested in his knowledge. I even got Mike to take a fireball shot with me because my bridesmaid had gone MIA. Haha! It was a great day that I will be able to live through in my photos for years to come! -

Ember=Amazing
Ember Studio was truly amazing to work with. We postponed our original wedding was scheduled for May 2nd and Tracy worked with us to reschedule for September. Mike and Aubrey were my photographers for they day and I couldn't have asked for a better duo. We are not posing professionals in any way shape or form and Mike directed us to ensure our photos came out beautiful. Mike's knowledge about lighting is spot on! I absolutely recommend Ember Studio for all photography needs. They are amazing, talented, easy to work with and affordable.Ember Studio's reply:

Fantastic photographers & gorgeous photos
Mike Moon's fabulous portfolio was the reason my photographer daughter chose him to shoot her wedding photos. He has an incredible eye and does amazing photography. It poured rain the day of my daughter's wedding and she was so upset since she thought that she would not be able to get the outdoor photos she wanted at her beautiful venue. Between Mike, and his amazing assistant photographer, Rachel, they were able to manipulate umbrellas and drone flashes to keep my daughter and her groom dry AND create the illusion of sunlight coming into the photo behind them. Not only did she get her outdoor photographs, but they are also incredible works of art. Several folks have already told me that the photographer needs to send the photos to a magazine because they are so amazing. As the mother of the bride, Mike and Rachel were easy to work with and willing to take the photos that I wanted of family, etc as well. Call Mike Moon of Ember Studios for your wedding. I promise that you won't be sorry.

I recently attended my son's wedding and the photographers Mike and Rachel were absolutely wonderful. Mike was very accommodating for me as the mother of the groom wanting a few extra family photos. He was familiar with the venue and picked the most beautiful places for the family pictures of the wedding. The photos that he did of my son his lovely wife were so gorgeous, he did some "dramatic" photos of the bride and the groom separately and I received so many compliments every time I show them off!!! Wow! These are the best photos ever! I highly recommend Mike and Rachel. You will be very pleased with them. I can't wait to print some off for Christmas gifts! -

Mike and Rachel were absolutely amazing. The whole day went by so fast, I couldn't believe it. They both knew the venue so well and where the best pictures would be. Rachel took me while Mike took my husband and they both came up with the most amazing and dramatic photos I had ever seen.
They both made the whole process so easy and effortless. At first, I felt awkward doing the poses, etc, but once Rachel showed me a couple of the pictures on her camera, I knew they had positioned me perfectly! Their knowledge of lighting and posing did not detour them from the dark mansion we were in. There was not a lot of natural light in the areas we were working in, but they both made it look as though there was natural light pouring in from everywhere.
Mike and Rachel also did a stunning job with the family pictures. They both knew who they wanted next and in what order. They were so organized it was amazing. I had been very worried about how they were going to keep with the timeline, having the whole family there and getting them into their spots. But they did it perfectly.
This was honestly the most beautiful I have ever felt in my life. Everything was so organized and effortless. We had an amazing time with both Mike and Rachel. They would both be my first recommendation as photographers without a doubt. -

Wow!! Mike and Evan were more than we ever could have dreamed of for our wedding photographers. They really listened to our vision, enjoyed every minute of the day with us and caught every special moment, and of course gave us photos that we will treasure forever. Being a COVID bride, I wasn’t sure how our photos would turn out- we ended up having a 50 person wedding in my parents’ front yard- but every photo looks like a dreamy venue from a fairytale!!! To say the least, Ember studios made all of my wedding photo dreams come true, even in the craziest of circumstances. They made me, my husband, my family, and all of our guests feel special, and they gave us a day and pictures we will treasure forever! Thank you with all our hearts!!Ember Studio's reply:

Would give a thousand stars if I could! Ember studio gave us the most incredible pictures for our wedding and our engagement. Mike Moon was the principal photographer on both occasions, and it was really wonderful getting to know him before the big day. He made the process very fun and exciting! My now husband and I had never had professional photos done before and were initially nervous about being in front of the camera, but Mike made it seem so comfortable and natural. He captured the real us, and captured the spirit of our wedding perfectly. Not only were the pictures incredible but he got the final edits back to us faster than we expected. So beyond happy with Ember Studios! Thank you guys so much for everything!! -

Ember Studio is absolutely the best wedding photographers you can find. There is definitely no comparison to the quality of work that they produce. Mike and Rachel shot our wedding and the photos turned out so, so great. I work in the wedding industry so I have seen my share of photographers, none compare to the professionalism, quality, and personality of the team.
It is one thing to watch couples have their pictures taken, but when we started getting our first look and portraits done, I realized I had no idea how to pose or what to do, Mike and Rachel saw my problem and told us exactly what to do and how to pose. And we couldn't be happier with how they turned out!
Their knowledge, experience of lighting, and composition are absolutely out of this world. Our first look was 3 hours before sunset, and they made it look as if the sun was pouring through the windows behind us, inside a dark Mansion. Mike even put his tripod into a water fountain to get the light *just* where he needed it.
We received our sneak peek the very next day, and the entire album so much faster than we thought too! They were very prompt on communication too, emails and texts all answered very quickly, we knew exactly the timeline we had and Mike and Rachel made sure to keep us all on track on day-of. They even got shots I didn't know I wanted.
If you want world-class photographers for your wedding day, I wouldn't recommend anyone else except Ember Studio's. (Make sure you get Rachel.) -

Mike & Matt are amazing photographers and so fun to work with! My husband and I really enjoyed shooting with them for both our engagement shots and on our wedding day. The best thing about these guys how passionate they are about their work - and it shows! (https://events.emberwed.com/dombek-froese/) They work together and bounce ideas off of each other in order to get fantastic shots. We loved how they would explain to us what they were doing and why they were doing it. Since my husband and I have no clue about photography, we really appreciated them explaining everything to us.
We also appreciated how Mike & Matt made sure to get us all the shots we wanted. At the church following our ceremony, we only had 15 minutes for family photos (> 100 people!) and Mike did a great job of organizing all our guests to make sure we got all those photos. Following our ceremony, we shot all around Atlanta, including Piedmont Park and Jackson Street Bridge.
The day you get married is a LONG DAY, and it was 95 degrees in Atlanta on ours! At one point my new hubby was worn out and getting tired of the heat and photos. But Mike knew there were more shots we would want on our special day, so he encouraged us to keep going. After a quick break to freshen up, Mike kept us going to shoot individual portraits, photos with all of our wedding party, and shots at our venue. We are now so grateful for that! Mike and Matt were incredible! The quality of their pictures is top notch and they were able to get some amazing shots, even though it was pouring rain our entire wedding day. We especially loved that they turned around over 500 pictures to us only 2 weeks after our wedding!
They both were remarkably inconspicuous during the reception but managed to capture a lot of really amazing candid moments and action shots. I was especially impressed with their lighting on the dark dance floor - the pictures showed everyone clearly without making it look like it was lit up by a bright flash. The "Moon" lighting is really cool and resulted in some really beautiful pictures of the rain at night. I also really appreciated that they didn't take too much time on the posed pictures, allowing us to enjoy the maximum time with our guests but also still capturing every picture we wanted.
One small comment we did have was that prior to the wedding, the communication was a bit lacking. We had received an email confirming that they would call within 2 weeks of the wedding date, but still hadn't heard from them about 1 week before. It took about 2 days to get a hold of Mike, during which I stressed out way more than I should have. I imagine the lapse in communication was likely due to the transition from Mike Moon Studios to Ember Studios, and once we did get a hold of Mike he was able to assure us immediately that all was set, so no harm done at all.
Overall, Mike and Matt definitely earned their five stars. They were really fun to have around and produced excellent pictures in a very short amount of time. We would highly recommend them!Ember Studio's reply:

7 Months Later and Still Missing Photos
We hired Ember Studios based off the positive reviews we saw on Wedding Wire and how responsive they were to getting our business. Our wedding was in July and we are now writing this review in February, seven months later and we still don't have all of our photos and videos. Our friend had used them for her wedding and had actually cautioned against them. We had a few conversations with Matt and he convinced us otherwise. The experience was positive through the wedding. In the contract, all images, videos, and hard drives were promised to us 30 days after the wedding. Here we are 218 days after our wedding with images. videos, and hard drives missing. We have been given every excuse in the book ranging from being busy to a car getting broken into and laptops being damaged to even Matt starting another venture which has been taking more of his time. Furthermore the communication has been abhorrent. It is only after repeated phone calls, texts, and emails that we get a response. When we had asked about where our videos were one of the representatives of the company asked us who our videographer was from their firm. In each of our lives neither of us has experienced such blatant fraud and lying. Ember Studios required 100% payment upfront. Ember Studios was extremely responsive when they wanted our business but when they had all their money and we upheld our part of the deal they have failed miserably. It is quite clear that they have no incentive to fix this situation and we have tried everything. It's a shame that someone's dishonesty, lies, and unethical business practices can put a damper on a special day. We have been more than patient with them constantly giving them the benefit of the doubt but this has gone on too long. Our photos are now delayed by 6 months past the promise date. This is the worst customer service experience we have ever experienced and hopefully no one will go through this. These people have taken our money and run with it. At this point we are even questioning whether the missing photos even exist. We put our trust in them which they have so clearly violated. -
