  Hire Emily!

  I fell in love with Emily from her wonderful work, but the moment I got on the phone with her I knew she would be photographing our wedding. She was amazing to work with, on top of her talent, she makes you feel comfortable around her, like you want to continue to hang out after the photos are done. We can’t thank her and Shea enough for capturing candid, timeless moments from our special day that we will cherish forever.

  More than a Photographer

  Emily was originally hired for our 03/28/2020 Wedding. Because of COVID, this didn't happen. Emily has been so supportive and understand during all of the scheduling, rescheduling, or and more rescheduling. As a one-woman show, her attentiveness and responsiveness is just unmatched. Emily has been more than just our photographer, she has helped come up with new venues, been our tour guide, and pep talked us when we needed it. You will not be disappointed with Emily!

  Magical Photos!

  Working with Emily was the absolute best decision we made! Her photos are AMAZING and SO unique. We are really appreciate of how flexible Emily was during this crazy year and all of her wonderful ideas throughout the process. She was so much fun to have at our wedding!   Incredible!

  Emily was the only vendor that I knew I wanted once I had gotten engaged- I would have booked her 2 years in advance if I had a venue/date. Emily has a magical way of making everyone feel comfortable and it shows in every picture. She has the most incredible eye for pictures and catches the most delicate and meaningful pieces of the day. Emily captured so many beautiful moments of our day that truly make me feel like I am reliving the day.

  Emily was the only vendor that I knew I wanted once I had gotten engaged- I would have booked her 2 years in advance if I had a venue/date. Emily has a magical way of making everyone feel comfortable and it shows in every picture. She has the most incredible eye for pictures and catches the most delicate and meaningful pieces of the day.   Speechless

  I can’t even put to words how amazing Emily was. She is more than a vendor, she is a support person and friend on a day when you need it the most. She has a personality that lights up a room and brings so much added joy to the day.   For this review, photos will speak 1000 words. Emily is extremely outgoing, professional, has great time management, and really puts you at ease. My husband and I were never big on getting our photos taken, especially for lifestyle professional photos (It can be so awkward taking professio photos), but Emily really made it easy for us to look natural and less posed. She has an amazing eye for backgrounds, lights, and lines. She did both of our engagement and wedding photography and we loved everything! She had the exact esthetic I was looking for. Emily also had an assistant with her who was also amazing. To me, the photographer was a very important part of our wedding and Emily delivered.

  I can't say enough wonderful things about Emily! Coming from the bride who planned her entire wedding in a day, choosing Emily was one of the easiest decisions I made. Her photos on Instagram piqued my interest; I loved how creative, warm, & artistic her work was, but also fun and real. We met to discuss before booking, over a beer, and we had a couple of follow-up meetings together over coffee Downtown to discuss what to expect as our wedding day approached.   When it came to the wedding day itself, we hardly even noticed she was there. Emily (and her assistant, Caitlin) were truly a pleasure. They blended right in to our wedding celebration, dancing and laughing with all of our guests, while still snapping the most beautiful photos. We just got our pictures back earlier this week, and I couldn't be happier. Literally obsessed with them. BOOK EMILY!!!! You will be so glad you did.

  What is truly exceptional about Emily, however, is how she can capture the beauty and flawlessly execute her talent while continually being the kindest, warmest, most welcoming soul. I have no doubt that a client who decides to work with Emily will feel like they are having their special day captured by an old friend. Her presence is soothing and stable which is such a scarcity on what can be such a chaotic day. She is one of those people you meet and immediately want to tell your life story to.   Absolute magic

  A million thank yous to Emily & Shea for photographing our wedding. Not only were they kind and professional, they made us feel so comfortable.
  Emily was the first vendor we chose for our wedding. I had been obsessing over her photos, dreaming that one day, she would photograph my own. It was the best decision we made.   True Artist who Thrives in her Craft

  My (now) husband and I met Emily at a friend's wedding a few years ago. After chatting with her there for a few minutes, we realized that she wasn't just a cool wedding guest we wanted to befriend, she was the photographer. We watched her and noticed that her charming nature and quickness to laugh allowed her to float amongst the party fluently. After seeing the photos from that wedding, we realized that her intimacy with the wedding party and guests translated clearly to her photos. It was as if the ease at which she moved throughout the party allowed her to permeate to a different level of the wedding - people didn't freeze up as they might in front... Read more

After seeing the photos from that wedding, we realized that her intimacy with the wedding party and guests translated clearly to her photos. It was as if the ease at which she moved throughout the party allowed her to permeate to a different level of the wedding - people didn't freeze up as they might in front of other cameras - in fact, it was the opposite. While we weren't surprised when the photos from that wedding were gorgeous, we found ourselves wondering how she made it look so effortless. Artistic, intimate, dynamic, romantic photos were produced.. all without disrupting natural and organic moments. When my boyfriend and I were engaged a few years later, we both knew exactly whose camera we wanted to be behind.
  
  When it was our turn to experience Emily first hand, we were delighted that our expectations were exceeded. I feel shy behind a camera, so Emily's banter and genuine joy made it easy to forget we were being photographed. We simply enjoyed being in her company, which allowed my fiance and I to let loose and have a good time. Emily took the time to get to know us long before our wedding date, so when the day came around we had no worries. Emily had every detail worked out - from knowing who we are and what moments we valued, to what minute we wanted family photos done and who would be in each one. She was totally in tune with us added much in the way of joy to our day.
  
  I want to make very clear that Emily's ease does not detract from her ability to command a group when trying to get a particular shot. She has a wonderful confidence. (So yes, your loud, drunk aunt will listen to Emily when it comes time to take family photos.) She's incredibly organized and provided a wonderful sense of assurance before, during, and after the wedding. And though I hope what I've written above would not be interpreted this way I will also spell out - Emily's ease among other guests is not attention seeking or deterring from the wedding or event. She is just somehow perfectly in sync with the wedding, yet completely and totally focused on her craft at the same time.
  
  I realize I've said barely anything about the photos themselves.. but I mean.. just LOOK at them! They speak for themselves. Long story not short - Emily is the total package. She is an artist who absolutely thrives in all aspects of her craft. Hire her. She is the best investment we made for our wedding, and she will be our family photographer (and hopefully friend) for life!

  Truly, though, Emily is crazy talented and a dream to work with. We booked her over a year before our wedding (she was our second vendor after the venue) because we knew we had to work with her! As someone who loves fashion, fashion photography, and secretly wants to look like a damn model on her wedding day, I knew Emily's background in fashion photography would shine in our eventual photographs. That, plus her ability to capture the feel of a particular moment, and her attention to color, tone, composition, and (for lack of a better term) artsyness -- it was an easy choice for us.
  
  Unsurprisingly, Emily was able to make us look like rockstars in our engagement photos, even though we are actually two awkward turtles. And, after our wedding was postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic, she was unbelievably kind and flexible, willing to move our date a full year out from the original date without any issues. I know that when our wedding finally arrives (someday, maybe, fingers crossed) she will capture all of it in a way that allows us to relive it and share it with our future family. We can't wait to work with this woman more, and we can't recommend her enough!

  Beautiful, not-posed photos!

  When we were looking for a photographer, it was very important to us that we would have timeless, non-posed, swap out the couple and insert another photos. She was one of the first vendors we booked (almost two years in advance!!) and I'm so thankful we went with her. I can't say enough wonderful things about Emily. She was so relaxed, goofy, and just overall easy to be around. She made sure to capture all of the moments of our day without directly asking us to pose here, pose there, adjust your angle, etc. When we look back through our album, we have a perfect story to remember the day. Em, you're the best.

  The perfect photographer and person to have around in all the chaos

  I can not say enough good things about Emily! She photographed my engagement, mehendi night and wedding and was the easiest, kindest, and most fun person to work with! Even as we were running behind schedule and my getting ready room was in chaos, Emily stayed focused and remained a calming presence throughout the day. At the wedding itself I had several family comment on how they would be talking, or having an emotional moment, and not realize until after that she was there capturing it.   I can not say enough good things about Emily! She photographed my engagement, mehendi night and wedding and was the easiest, kindest, and most fun person to work with! Even as we were running behind schedule and my getting ready room was in chaos, Emily stayed focused and remained a calming presence throughout the day. At the wedding itself I had several family comment on how they would be talking, or having an emotional moment, and not realize until after that she was there capturing it. We haven’t gotten our wedding photos yet but our engagement photos were incredible and I am positive our wedding photos will be just the same. In several of the photos that friends and family took, you can see Emily and her assistant for the day Paula on the ground, standing on their tippy toes, or crouching into angles to get the perfect photos. When we were too late to use our original first look location, she worked with our coordinator and found us another equally amazing one that wouldn’t have me walking through all the guests. Throughout the day, I don’t remember her being around at all but it’s clear from the non-professional photos, she was EVERYWHERE.
  
  I don’t think I realized just how much time I would spend with the photographer on my wedding day and now that I do, I am so so glad that I picked Emily. Me and my husband really could not have made a better choice.

  A wonderful experience, and an amazing result!

  It was a pleasure to work with Emily for a photo shoot with our then-three-week old son, and my wife and I couldn’t be happier with the results. We were particularly drawn to Emily’s use of soft light in her portfolio, and she took the most wonderful photos of our newborn during our late-morning shoot. Emily’s kind and good-natured personality shone through the moment she arrived for the shoot, and she helped us feel completely at ease to capture all of the fun, natural moments with our son. Emily is incredibly talented, and she had plenty of subtle, creative suggestions during the shoot regarding angles and placement to capture the light and overall happiness of the day in her photos. We fully and highly recommend working with Emily!

  It was a pleasure to work with Emily for a photo shoot with our then-three-week old son, and my wife and I couldn’t be happier with the results. We were particularly drawn to Emily’s use of soft light in her portfolio, and she took the most wonderful photos of our newborn during our late-morning shoot. Emily’s kind and good-natured personality shone through the moment she arrived for the shoot, and she helped us feel completely at ease to capture all of the fun, natural moments with our son. Emily is incredibly talented, and she had plenty of subtle, creative suggestions during the shoot regarding angles and placement to capture the light and overall happiness of the day in her photos. We fully and highly recommend working with Emily!

She captured our wedding day so creatively and beautifully. Above her work being incredible, having Emily there on our wedding day was so great. She is so kind, fun, and hilarious. Having her around was like having an old friend at our wedding. In fact, by the end of our event, she felt more like a friend than a vendor. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better photographer.

Our entire bridal party raved about her enthusiasm - - her love for photography was infectious and it didn't feel like she was working, but instead part of the group. The best thing about Emily is that she creates natural and candid shots that bring real emotion out of people and don't feel forced. We can't wait to see our proofs and can't recommend Emily Gude and her staff enough!!

  Emily was the perfect choice for my wedding day! She is kind, warm, and fantastic at what she does. The photos are works of art. She captures beautiful little moments that other photographers overlook. You may not get as many photographs from your day as other photographers offer (roughly 800), but do you really need 200 photos of you getting ready or 300 blurry photos on the dance floor?! Quality over quantity, any day. I recommend Emily at every opportunity I get!
