We are so so grateful to have found Estates by Brophy to host the wedding weekend of our DREAMS!! A beautiful, private property, in the fall, in upstate NY, with comfortable space for many of our guests to stay directly on the property, and many caring, dedicated staff to assist throughout the whole process was exactly what we wanted and more!

Estates by Brophy gives you an incredible back-drop and an almost-blank slate to plan your completely customized wedding. Many traditional wedding venues book multiple weddings a weekend, maybe even multiple per day, and can come with strict rules on event timing, vendor options, quiet hours, etc. At Estates by Brophy, you can get complete privacy, away from other travelers and non-wedding guests, and bring in your own caterers, plan your own timing, and more! That being said, all brides and fellow wedding planners should be aware that the perks of customizability come with more work behind the scenes to plan all the details - so be ready for that if this is your venue pick! I promise it will be worth it!

One of the best parts of our wedding weekend was taking advantage of the variety of spaces for each event. We rented out DeerRidge, Riverview, and a small additional property called the Red and White House, to house about 75 of our closest family and friends throughout the weekend. We had our 100-person Welcome Party at DeerRidge, making use of the indoor common areas and the large outdoor veranda. We rented heat lamps from the property so that some guests could mingle comfortably outdoors. Then we had our ceremony outside at the gorgeous ceremony site by the river (the rain held out for us), cocktail hour outside the Riverview Main House, and the reception at the Riverview Banquet Hall. The flow worked so well and the guests were amazed by the property, especially with views of all the Catskills fall foliage. It was such a privilege to have the whole property to ourselves.

Now to talk about Debbie and Tony. This dream of a weekend wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication, energy, and thoughtfulness of these two amazing humans. Debbie, our wedding coordinator, was so supportive and flexible on different ideas throughout the whole process. She has an eye for design and was able to make up the reception tables and lay out the room exactly as I had envisioned. Tony dedicated many hours of his time to the labor involved, such as arranging the ceremony benches as we wanted them, hanging string lights outside, and moving tables and chairs around the property as we needed them. Both Tony and Debbie were patient and flexible with my needs, as I will admit I was a picky bride, from the first day we met to the actual wedding day, wanting nothing more than for us to be happy. On the day of the wedding, they were there working on all the details before anyone was awake, and were the last ones to leave at the end of the night. Allison was also very helpful with the financials/billing/contract logistics along the way, and Walter was our trusty Kubota driver to help shuttle our guests to the ceremony site.

WOW, we absolutely loved hosting our wedding weekend here. Communication has been top notch from day one, whether it was with Allison or Gale herself, the owner. Their responses were always prompt and kind. As for the staff on the grounds, they were SUCH gems. Walter, Debbie, and Tony felt like longtime friends; they were very helpful, attentive, and professional, but knew how to add humor in what would otherwise be a stressful preparation.
We held the ceremony on Friday and had a group of our friends stay the weekend, split amongst both RiverView and DeerRidge Estates by Brophy. The properties are stunning, surrounded by beautiful lush nature. The view by the ceremony site was invigorating with the stream of river in the background. The amenities at the estates were also a bonus, from the fire pits to the pools.
We had visited twice beforehand and they graciously allowed us to tour each room leisurely. We never felt rushed and they were patient answering our endless list of questions and accommodating our specific requests. We didn’t have a wedding or event planner, but working with everyone on this team made it easy to execute our dream wedding. We left feeling tons of gratitude for them and we’ll recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat!

The estate was absolutely beautiful! We had our wedding here over Labor Day weekend and rented both Deer Ridge and Riverview for about 63 guests. The property managers were extremely responsive to any needs, even coming by late at night when needed. Both estates were very clean and well stocked. The ceremony spot on the river was very well kept and we had plenty of room. The banquet hall wad newly renovated and the use of the kitchen in the back was very helpful for our caterers. The bridge right before the estate was also beautiful for photos

We had our wedding here in October of 2020! It was perfect- the owner and workers were SO accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. The houses were clean and put together! All of our guests told us it was the best wedding they’ve been to! We loved having everyone stay on site with us and make a weekend out of our wedding rather than an evening. I can’t say enough good things!

The RiverView Estate was a BEAUTIFUL and unique venue for our wedding. The ceremony space by the river is serene and breathtaking, the White Birch Banquet Hall is rustic and chic, and the estate itself is private with everything you could need to make your stay comfortable. There is a lot to be said for the convenience of staying on the same property as your venue, especially given that this venue requires a lot of DIY effort. I was a type A bride who liked the idea of planning every detail to make our wedding exactly what we wanted it to be, but I was definitely burned out by all the work that needed to be done to make sure our weekend went smoothly. For example, while we loved being able to choose our own vendors, we did not anticipate having to find a vendor to supply ice for the weekend. While the estate offers the option of renting dishware for the reception, there’s a lack of capacity to wash dishes in the small rear kitchen, so we ended up using disposables for everything. We were also expecting our tables, linens, and chairs to be set up in the reception hall and cocktail area when we arrived, but we ended up having to set them up ourselves. We made everything exactly what we wanted, but for the price of using the reception hall we did not anticipate having to put in so much work upon arrival. We were fortunate to have lots of family and friends willing to help.

We also rented the adjacent DeerRidge Estate to accommodate more of our guests, which was extremely convenient and beautiful in its own right. We used the DeerRidge for our post-rehearsal dinner welcome party the night before the wedding, and everyone had a blast! Our remaining guests were accommodated in hotels and AirBnbs in Hancock (where we also got our marriage license), which is the closest town about 10-15 minutes away. Had we not rented both estates, I’m not sure that the hotels in town would have been able to accommodate our wedding of 120, given that there was another wedding happening in town that day, too. Hancock is very small, so guests shouldn’t expect to find an overabundance of food, drink, or grocery options (though a few good options do exist).

The estate's offsite coordinator was pleasant to work with during the planning phase; however, communication was a bit unclear and challenging at times. The staff onsite at the venue is fantastic. They’re friendly and welcoming and always ready and willing to help bring your wedding dreams to life. They went above and beyond to make the ceremony space accommodating to our guests and our vision, in addition to making sure our guests were comfortable throughout their stay on the property. They helped set up our reception space the day of and delighted the crowd with their bartending skills and loveable personalities. Our interactions with the owner of the estates were always lovely. You can tell she really enjoys hosting weddings on the property and wants couples to enjoy their stay. All that said, I was happy to have a friend who I knew and trusted helping with the coordination and execution of our vision the day of the wedding.

Overall, I would say that this venue isn’t for the couple who wants the convenience of choosing a traditional, all-inclusive wedding venue package and paying others to handle all the details. But if you’re like us and want something non-traditional – essentially a blank canvas to create the day of your dreams from scratch in an incredibly beautiful setting – this is it!

I am literally in tears right now as I start to even think about writing a review for this place! This is the most AMAZINGLY gorgeous hands down BEST estate/hotel/wedding venue in the world. I cannot say enough about how amazing our time here was. But I’m gonna try because I have read so many reviews for wedding venues and let me tell you the Truth (as every bride wants to know) about Brophy Estates.. when we first viewed the estate we met Debbie the sweetest nicest person we ever had give us a tour of anything lol (we saw Atleast 20venues) she took us to room after room and when u thought it was over hold on.. cuz it only gets better! There was so much room so much space for family, so many unique little trinkets or pictures everywhere you felt like you were at home. We saw what was being turned into a reception hall and it was empty at the time. Gale came by to meet us and we were sold right then and there she is the sweetest person but beyond that she told us what this hall would be with beautiful birch wood trees and lanterns from the ceiling... When we finally booked the venue Kristen was helpful answering questions for us. (Do you have a keruig for my mom?! Lol ) We were nervous when we got there about how it would look but gale did NOT disappoint.. it is truly amazing romantic and so perfect. The day before my wedding I was bridezilla running around with my DIY lanterns that I decided I didn’t like last minute.. to my surprise gale called me to wish me the best and heard in my voice I was not happy about my centerpieces she came by in 10 mins.. changed out my centerpieces for me and made me the happiest bride ever! I was in such awe at how perfect this staff is.. I called Debbie cuz the tv was not working the first morning (cuz of rain damn direct tv) but she and tony came by and immediately attended to every need and question we had! Perfect venue perfect wedding only complaint is I didn’t know how awesome the staff was before hand!

This place really fabulous; lot of spaces for family reunion.. enjoyed table pool, Fire pit, extra large bbq grill, swimming pool, hot tub, fire pit by lake side, kayaking and the private entrance... highly recommended. Great hospitality..

Excellent! Beautiful estate, well maintained. Had a recent gathering of 16 adults. The Estate comfortably accommodated this size group. Gorgeous pool, hot tub, sauna. The property manager and staff were a joy to deal with and responsive to any needs. Easy walk to the river and many hiking trails.

We had a wonderful stay at DeerRidge this winter. The property was perfect for accommodating our group of nearly 40. The large main kitchen is set up nicely for large gatherings and meals. The location is easily accessible, and boasts a degree of seclusion while also being near enough to retail options in Hancock. Gale and the staff were very helpful and responsive from booking through checkout.

We came as a large group -- more than twenty adults and twenty kids. That means we had a lot of needs -- lots of kitchen space, play space for the kids, a place for the adults to eat and talk together, as well as private rooms for the families/couples. This place gave us all that, and more -- plenty of bathrooms/showers, a pool table and volleyball net, plus close convenience to town and nature. We've tried these weekends together in other houses, and nothing as worked so well as DeerRidge Estate.

Our group came to stay at RiverView estate this past fall. The grounds and foliage were stunning at that time of year. As much as we were impressed by the beautiful views, we were infinitely more impressed by the the hospitable service we received. The staff was very accommodating of our needs, and went above and beyond their duties when they got us some last-minute emergency supplies from town. The estate has all the amenities you could ask for -- hot tub, fire pit, pool and hiking trails right next door. Highly recommend the RiverView Estate to anyone looking to book a group trip!

The property was absolutely gorgeous, and we honestly could not have dreamed of a better venue for our wedding weekend. We were able to host many of our friends and family on the property, which made for a truly special "getaway"-feeling event.

We heard "best wedding ever" from many of our guests, and we have to attribute a lot of that to the setting, and the venue. It was the perfect blend of rustic, off-the-grid serenity with very nice lodging and banquet hall.

This place is great for a large group get away. Awesome seclusion while not really being that far away from "civilization." It is very comfortable with lots of outdoor options. Highly recommended!

Not only is Gale so nice and unobtrusive.the scenery, house, air is
so beautiful and relaxing had an excellent time there and would recommend it to everyone

The estate accommodated our family totaling 52 adults and children. The privacy and spacious accommodations allowed everyone to have plenty of room for sleeping, relaxation, food preparation, and even eating as an entire group. All enjoyed the natural beauty of the Catskills including the views of the North Delaware River, daily sightings of deer, turkey, fox, and falcons, and the mountain hiking trails. It was a very pristine and peaceful setting to relax and enjoy the family. The two pools, two hot tubs, sauna, billiard tables, and fire pits were enjoyed by all throughout the entire week. In addition, there was plenty to do in the surrounding towns to entertain all ages. Staff checked in daily to ensure that everything was going well. The commercial kitchen in Deerridge was more than adequate for preparing meals for 50 plus. The family is grateful and well-satisfied with the opportunity to spend this memorable time together at Brophy Estates.

As a group of college friends getting together for a wedding, the Riverview estate provided us an incredible place for our weekend. Walking around the estate, from the pool, to the fire pit, down by the barn, and generally through the woods, was gorgeous and made for both great exploring and a great setting to enjoy each other's company. It felt like Riverview could sleep as many people as you could imagine comfortably. The owner stopped by on Saturday, not to hover over our group to see if anything was wrong, but to ask if we were enjoying ourselves and if there is anything she could do for us. The amenities inside the houses, such as the pool table, hot tub, and workout area, were unexpected but terrific additions that really enhanced our weekend. I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone with a big group who plans to spend time in the area.

Gale Brophy, her husband Walter, and the staff at Riverview Estates are first class all the way. We had a party of 38 and it was all ages. Everybody had a magnificent time.

The Hosts - Top notch hosts, ensuring that everyone is having a good time. They are always accessible and are obsessed with pampering their guests

The Property - There are a couple of different properties. We were at Deer Ridge, it is on a beautifully landscaped property. It has hills, trails, and a wonderful fire pit for a great night activity.

The Accommodations - It looks like one big building as you look at it from outside. In reality, there is a long porch spanning the entire frontage of the house. Off of the porch you can access a private 5 bedroom house, a large private suite/apartment, stairs that take you to a private are that has about another 7 bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms. Back downstairs next to the suite there are two rooms that are perfect for entertaining 40 people comfortably. One is a dining room and commercial kitchen and the other is a bar and pool table area. In the back of those rooms there are another couple of bunk bedrooms. Then next to it is a private handy-cap accessible bedroom and bathroom. In the back of the house there is also another bedroom and private bath.

Town - The area is absolutely beautiful and secluded. If you are coming from a city, this is just what the doctor ordered. We caught some delicious trout just steps away. The properties are very easy to access from the highway as well. As you get to know Gale Brophy, you learn that she thinks of everything. We had an outstanding time!

We had our annual youth ministry staff retreat at this estate. It’s a way for all of us to bond and finish the year off strong and as you can imagine, the venue is an integral part of the experience. We usually go to a beach house, but that tradition was outvoted in favor of the woods. So that led us here.

Our experience at Deerridge estate was a blessing to say the least. The whole team went above and beyond to take care of our needs from beginning to end. They even mailed one of our staff their forgotten wallet after we left. The house was large, and yet remained cozy, which is an important quality in the winter months. The hot tub and pool table gave everyone something to do when we weren’t rolling around in the snow and the view of the valley was a beautiful backdrop for our morning stretches. I think I speak for everyone when I say that we all left abundantly pleased!

We will certainly be coming back in the future.

This Cabin was exactly what we wanted for our large family getaway. We were a party of 18 and the accommodations in the two main lodges were more than adequate. The Entertainment Lodge was as pictured - extremely spacious rustic and charming. This meeting spot made the weekend. We prepared and enjoyed all of our meals together with ample room in the kitchen for everyone - the adults liked that. It seemed there was always someone playing a game of pool in the background all weekend long, and whether watching a movie, playing a board game, listening to music, or all three - the Entertainment Lodge was the spot to be. The teenagers LOVED IT. The hot tub and sauna were an added plus. The outdoor fire pit was exactly what we wanted in January, and Gale and her staff were kind enough to see that the snow was cleared and the wood delivery was made before we arrived. We enjoyed a hike in the woods - the views of the mountains and river are breathtaking. This is THE cabin in the woods for your large family getaway. Gale and her staff are extremely accommodating. We would return for sure.

Great venue for our school retreat! A group of 30+ people, we stayed for a lovely weekend at DeerRidge Estate. We could not have asked for better accommodations to facilitate our group-bonding! The space was beautiful, clean and well designed to suit the large group. Everyone was able to mingle and have fun with others in the common areas of the Estate [and enjoy the hot tub, pool table, ect] when they wanted to, as well as enjoy some peace and quiet alone in their own room when need be. In addition to being a beautiful structure, the surrounding property is very pretty and serene.

The Lakeview and the Riverview Estates are just gorgeous!!! The owners are friendly and go out of their way to make sure your special day is perfect!! I recommend Gales properties for a beautiful wedding day, or any event!!

I can't say enough good things about this home... the pictures don't do it justice! My girlfirends and I visited Riverview for a bachelorette weekend and it was everything we had hoped for. We had a bout 20 people and rented out the large home and the big game room house and we had more than enough room for everyone. The houses were awesome- from the living areas, to the game room, to the indoor hot tub room...it was awesome! the areas outside the hose are just as nice. We enjoyed the fire bit and the bbq. It was too cold for use to go swimming, but the pool areas looked amazing. The staff of the house was equally as awesome- there was someone on call 24/7 for whatever we needed and Gail, the owner, personally called and checked in on us everyday. I look forward to visiting her homes again.

The only advice I would give would be to book well ahead of time as this place is fantastic and I think it probably books fast! Other than that, Gail and her crew were fabulous, the grounds and accommodations were immaculate and my 100 guests were thrilled. They even helped us find a venue for our rehearsal dinner and this is in a very remote, but lovely, part of the Catskills so I wouldn't have known where to even start. It was an amazing experience at Estates by Brophy.

I has an absolutely breathtaking wedding at Riverview ! The property is spectacular . We had our ceremony down by the river . Gale and her staff went out of there way to make sure everything was perfect. Amber
