Kate Sent on 02/03/2018Hiring the ladies of Evoke is 100% the best decision we made in the wedding planning process. Bringing them (Jodi, Jeanette, Stephanie & specifically the most wonderful Kaitlyn) on from almost the very beginning, made our planning stress-free, empowering & exciting. I work in events & didn't want to feel like planning my wedding was work. I met Kaitlyn, instantly clicked and realized quickly 1) how fun the process would be 2) how amazing our wedding would be 3) that hiring Evoke would be worth every single penny of our investment.
Our wedding was unique for a couple reasons: we were hosting a brunch wedding and it was just six months after our engagement. Kaitlyn worked quickly, efficiently and creatively. She is easy going, patient and always so kind. She presented a selection of vendors that we could choose from, curating those who she thought would be good matches for our vision. We felt confident in those she was recommending and ended up with THE best vendor team for our wedding. Planning with Kaitlyn was like hanging out with an old friend. She took time to understand what was most important to us. She embraced our uncommon requests (handmade chocolate covered cashews for each table) and helped us to creatively apply the things that were important to us. For example, we love to travel so she sourced leather luggage tags for escort cards and I love puns so she designed brunch pun cocktail napkins that our guests ended up collecting throughout the cocktail reception. The day of the wedding was stress-free as far as planning goes. Kaitlyn & her on-site team (Cassie & Nadine) made everyone comfortable and relaxed. Not only were they in eyesight from start to finish (even with the 6am alpine hair & makeup start!) they coordinated and executed the day to perfection and made the wedding party and each guest feel cared for and welcome.
I'm confident she has become a friend for life. I would recommend working with Kaitlyn & the Evoke team without hesitation. -

Cristina Sent on 02/11/2018Working with Jodi was magical! She made every detail of my dream wedding come true. The year long planning process was flawless and stress free. Majority of my guest to this day still say our wedding was one of the best they have ever attended. I couldnt not have asked for a better person to plan my wedding. I literally showed her my Pinterest board and boom - Oct 3rd I show up to the most incredible night of my life just the way id imagined it to be and better. Thank you, Jodi!!!!

Caitlin Sent on 02/08/2018Jeannette Tavares of EVOKE planned our wedding in September 2013 and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. I really appreciated that Jeannette welcomed involving me and my fiance in the decision-making process. She kept a detailed, organized schedule of everything that needed to be done but was thoughtful in teeing-up items for our consideration. It really allowed us to focus on the creative parts of the wedding ("our vision") rather than the administrative and more cumbersome planning aspects. Jeannette and her team have relationships with some of the most sought-after vendors in the DC area, so you are guaranteed to work with the best of the best if you have them behind the wheel. I couldn't recommend Jeannette or this company enough.

Larry Sent on 02/18/2018There's really not enough good I could say about Evoke and our top-notch planner, Jeanette Tavares. My fiance, now spouse, and I had waited for many years to get married. We wanted our celebration to reflect our unique journey and truly celebrate the coming together of our lives. The team at Evoke spent time with us to understand our vision and took every opportunity to bring it to life during the three-day weekend festivities.
Our weekend began with a happy hour, for our families and friends to meet and mingle. Hosted by my partner in our home, Mark Hour was a huge hit. Serving foods and special cocktails to reflect his Virginian heritage, our guests were able to spend some time together, without the distraction of a rehearsal, to get know each other. This was the first, but not the last time my father would remark on the amazing quality of the food we were serving.
On Saturday, the day of our wedding, the team at Evoke were put through their paces as they pulled off an absolutely amazing pop-up wedding for us at the National Portrait Gallery. Our families joined us on the balcony of the The Great Hall as our eldest nephew performed our ceremony marrying us. My partner was so nervous I thought he'd crush my hand!
The ceremony was followed by ice skating, with a hot-cocoa and bourbon bar created in the back of an antique pick up truck. We then had a private dinner, complete with cooking lessons for our young nieces arranged by the team at Evoke, at our favorite restaurant, Osteria Morini.
The next day, Jeanette and her amazing team put together the most unique, casual, mix-and-mingle brunch for us. There were food stations, a play area for the kids, and the "Bark Bar" in honor of the most wonderful dog in the world, Trey, our bichon frise.
Even with all the special touches, and obviously extra effort, our wedding was affordable and on budget. We're so happy that we had this team to help us bring our vision to life. -
