EOB was the perfect place to get married at. The resort was beautiful and the staff was nothing but fantastic! Our wedding coordinator, Marsha Bent, was incredible and highly experienced in event coordinating. I am still in awe at how she managed to pull everything together and always, always had a smile on her face. I am thankful we picked the Excellence Oyster Bay. The staff made sure everyone had an amazing time. We are already wanting to plan a trip back!

After our first visit here (before we got engaged) I knew this was the place I wanted to get married and my boyfriend at the time agreed. From the service to the decor to the food and drinks, let me tell you this place is 5 star! I fell in love the minute I walked in and saw the martini bar which was at the bottom of a double wrap around stair case. The check in was super easy and every single staff member was so attentive. I will say the Excellence pays attention to every detail. After booking our wedding we flew back in to meet with our wedding coordinator, Ariana. She is one of my favorite people still to this day we have kept in touch. Ariana is so kind and quick to respond. Our wedding was everything we dreamed of and more. All of our guests gave us so many compliments I couldn't be happier. Destination weddings can be tough with guests canceling on you last minute, but if you are debating on whether to have one, or have it here, don't hesitate just book it! I worked with Rochelle and Marsha and they were both awesome. The resort was beautiful everyone one of my guest enjoyed their stay. My wedding was beautiful and very memorable moment. The only complaint I have is food service is the slowest ever. It slowed down my wedding reception to the point where we didn’t have enough time to party.

Overall the hotel is beautiful, new, clean, & modern, with fantastic food & outstanding service. All of my guests raved about the hotel & enjoyed their stay. Our wedding also turned out beautiful, BUT that was because of my detail-oriented planning & the fact that I hired an outside wedding planner & outside vendors! The onsite wedding planning team at EOB & their in-house vendors were terrible! My wedding coordinator had no idea what she was doing & did not guide me or help me. If anything, she just made the planning process more difficult.

EX 1: she waited too late to order my flowers! Two weeks before my wedding I ended up having to hire an outside wedding planner (Chic Weddings Jamaica) & thankfully she was able to order me flowers, a dance floor, decor, signs, etc.. she truly saved the day!! If I left it up to the coordinator from EOB I wouldn’t have had any flowers or decor at my wedding or my welcome party!!

EX 2: only one of my guests had major food allergies/restrictions & needed an alternative meal option, yet even after reminding my coordinator 100x (incl multiple times the day OF the events!) she STILL screwed up TWICE (both at my welcome party & my wedding reception) and failed to give my guest a dinner she could eat. So my guest went without dinner both nights (yet I had to pay for her plate). I am still extremely annoyed about this.

EX 3: she failed to tell me lobster wasn’t allowed to be served past a certain date until AFTER I got my guests’ menu choices back.

EX 4: The hotel spa (aka their in-house hair/makeup vendor) was included in my Gold package so I opted to use them for my hair/makeup for my welcome party. I was there for 5+ hrs and I STILL left looking horrible! I hated my hair (the girl had no idea what she was doing & literally burned my hair with the wand!) and it was frizzy & the curls fell out 20 minutes later! That same girl attempted my makeup but I looked like a clown so they had another girl take it off & start over— that girl was actually quite decent at makeup and she should have been assigned to do my makeup from the start!
The hotel spa seems to just hire unexperienced people and assign them to random spa services without giving them training! (i’m not just referring to wedding services… My mother-in-law had a TERRIBLE $70 regular manicure at the hotel spa- the woman globbed on the paint so thick & messy! And I got a massage by someone who clearly had no training- I get massages often so I can tell when someone knows what they’re doing). It blows my mind that the spa gets away with hiring people who have no training/ experience & yet they have the audacity to charge top dollar for their horrendous services!

EX 5: The group reservations team was extremely frustrating to work with! They were located off-site and would only communicate via Email, yet it took them DAYS to respond to an email! They also messed up countless reservations for my guests! It was extremely painful dealing with them, & yet we had to because they were the team who gave us our free concessions (based on the # of rooms booked under our code).

There are soooo many more examples of how the resort failed during the wedding planning process, but overall I DO recommend this resort for your destination wedding— just hire an outside wedding planner from the very beginning to alleviate your stress & help ensure your on-site coordinator is doing what they need to do!
