You won't be disappointed!
You can't go wrong with Angela & her team at 1st Impressions! She worked with us to find a menu within our budget & what we wanted. She was very informative when any potential snags came up (with item availability due to Covid & supply issues!) She solved problems & gave us the heads-up on anything she came across. She was always available when we needed to contact her (even when she was out of town with family). The food was DELICIOUS!!! In fact she also catered my best friend's wedding previously, & I had remembered not only the amazing food, but how her team went above & beyond at that wedding, so when it came time for my own, I knew I wanted to check them out. We were not disappointed at all! The staff was very professional the whole time too. I would use them again for any future catering needs too, as they were great all around!You can't go wrong with Angela & her team at 1st Impressions! The best caterer
Angela is seriously an angel. She is the most kind-hearted human being and I actually feel Like she would have given us the shirt off of her back if we asked for it. She went above and beyond to give us the menu we wanted for the price we could afford. I promise you she is much more affordable than anyone else and will give you great service and amazing food. I cannot say enough good things about her and her staff!Angela is seriously an angel. She is the most kind-hearted human being and I actually feel Like she would have given us the shirt off of her back if we asked for it. Still dreaming of those shrimp and grits...
Our wedding was on December 9th; it’s almost two months later and my guests are STILL talking about the fried green tomatoes at our wedding! Angela and her team with First Impressions Catering provided some seriously tasty food for our wedding, and I’m so incredibly impressed with their service. We had TONS and TONS of food for our guests, and First Impressions provided everything at such a reasonable cost. We were amazed at the value for what we received. Angela even had surgery a couple months prior to our wedding, and I still had absolutely no trouble getting in touch with her to answer any minor question I had. Being that she’s very familiar with our venue, she even provided plenty of advice about different tidbits outside the realm of catering (i.e. where to put the gift table, photo booth, etc.) The team even packed an insulated picnic bag (on wheels!) full of food AND donuts from our dessert table so that we’d have something for the end of the night. Being that we had an after party and were completely ravenous by the time we got to our hotel room that night, my husband and I were so grateful for this. Yum, yum, AND YUM!!
People can not stop talking about how good the food was! My mom is an amazing cook but even she wanted to know some of Angela’s cooking secrets. Mrs. Angela was so thoughtful & nice too— she made our plates during the reception and also packed us a dinner to go.
On the menu: Shrimp & Grits (A MUST HAVE), Turkey w cranberry relish, mixed veggies, mashed potato bar, corn muffins, rolls, salad bar and more!!

Yum!!! We are so glad we chose Angela to cater our wedding! The food was delicious and we got so many compliments on the meal. The shrimp and grits & fried green tomatoes were especially big hits. Angela was very accommodating when we wanted to try more items a couple months before the wedding and invited us to come over to try some more dishes. I also appreciated her willingness to be flexible and work with our venue-we had an outdoor wedding at the Pelican Watch Shelter so she had multiple back up plans in case it was windy, raining, etc. On the day of the wedding, Angela and her team worked perfectly and the buffet line moved quickly. Angela also made sure we had plates first so we didn't forget to eat. She also sent us home with food, which we happily gobbled up at midnight when we realized we were starving after such an eventful day! If you're looking for a reasonably priced caterer that still provides professional service and delicious food, look no further than Angela at First Impressions!!Yum!!! THE BEST! Angela is one of the sweetest and most accommodating people you'll ever meet. My fiance was in town for a short and unexpected weekend and asked on extremely short notice if we could arrange a time to meet. Not only did she accommodate us, she even welcomed us into her home and cooked food for us to try. From the first bite, we knew we wanted First Impressions to caterer our wedding. Angela was a huge help throughout our entire wedding planning process and was extremely quick with responding to my many texts. There were no hidden fees and everything was executed as planned. Our guests were amazed with how wonderful our wedding food was. I can't say enough about First Impressions! Thank you, Angela!THE BEST! BEST CATERING IN CHARLESTON!!!!!! Angela exceeded all hopes and expectations. She is one of the best, if not THE best decision I made at my wedding. I have been thinking over the last few days about what to write in this review because it's hard to explain just how wonderful my experience with first impressions was. I don't want to sound like one of those over enthusiastic brides that loved everything about her wedding just because it was her wedding... Angela truly was the best and days after my wedding people were still talking about how great the food was. She was so easy to work with, quick to respond, kind, reasonable and the food tasted amazing. The groom and I didn't have time to eat during the reception and by the time we were leaving, we were starving. Not to worry though, she had packed us up food to go! I can't imagine my experience with Angela going any better. She was perfect and I recommend her to anyone needing catering in the Charleston area. Angela was so responsive to my e-mails and she went out of her way to meet with us for a tasting when we were only in town for a short period of time! The food was AMAZING, and Angela even made us a picnic basket of leftovers for after the wedding. First Impressions is also super reasonably priced compared to other caterers in the Charleston area! First Impressions is just plain fabulous! To describe them in three ways I would say delicious food, friendly owner and staff and an absolute pleasure to work with. My husband and I had a small budget and were worried that we wouldn’t be able to find anyone that was top notch but then I found First Impressions and my worries were quickly put to ease. They have great reviews out there because they are all stars on all levels. We were planning our wedding from out of state so we weren’t able to try the food or meet with Angela before we made a decision so those reviews were key. When we made it to Charleston to meet with Angela face to face and try the food, we were just plain delighted and already felt like we were seeing a friend (complete with hugs upon greeting!) I loved the food so much at our tasting that I had dreams about the mac and cheese that night. Not to mention how accommodating they are to work with. I had a concept in mind and Angela was more than happy to work with me to make it happen. Our wedding guests only had rave reviews to share and were very impressed at the quality and deliciousness of it all. If I ever need a caterer in the Charleston area, First Impressions is the one and only call I will make. Thank you First Impressions for being so amazing to work with!

Angella was AMAZING! So much attention to detail and pricing was MORE than reasonable for food so delicious. The entire staff from First Impressions was kind and attentive and it made us feel so special when Angella handed us a hand packed picnic basket cooler of leftovers and cake to snack on after the wedding. So thoughtful! They also went above and beyond to set up a beautiful table scape with their napkins and the exact color of silverware we wanted. We couldn't be more happy with our choice of caterer and the service.Angella was AMAZING! So much attention to detail and pricing was MORE than reasonable for food so delicious. Angela and her team at First Impressions were nothing less than amazing to work with! Honestly no review would accurately convey how much we not only adore her but love her cooking! Charleston was a destination wedding for us and when we visited months before the wedding Angela invited us to her home for what was really a full on meal not just a tasting. Not only did you feed us some FANTASTIC food but her daughter who is also as sweet as her momma entertained our 2 kids while we ate and chatted. We left her home feeling very confident in her and her cooking skills! Now the wedding day...lots of changed plans as it POURED rain and the entire venue plan changed. That was no big deal for Angela and her team. They smiled the whole way though it! The food was AMAZING! My fiancé is sooo picky about good food. He was convinced he would hate her fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese as he swears he hasn't ever had good one in his life and only "old people" eat those lol! He absolutely LOVED them as did I and all of our guests! We also loved her chicken salad on croissants and sausage stuffed mushrooms. The sweet tea and pink lemonade fountains were adorable too! For our main courses we had Crab Cakes with peach mango salsa, creamy Shrimp and Grits with lots of yummy accompaniments and Southern Fried Chicken. All were delish!!! She had our plates ready for us as well as a glass of wine when we sat down to eat.
At the end she sent us off with a lovely cooler filled with containers of leftovers, cake and wine to enjoy later! All in all I can't say enough good about her and her team. I would highly recommend her for a FANTASTIC value compared to the fancy caterers and I can guarantee you her food is better than theirs too:) Plus, if you need something, you talk to her not someone who isn't even making the food! Do yourself a favor and hire this girl you won't regret it!

I cannot sing Angela's praises enough! When my husband and I started planning, we had only a few requirements....guests need to have fun, eat great food and always have a drink in their hand, without spending an arm and a leg. When we set out to find a caterer, I literally went to him crying getting a handful of outrageous quotes with crazy up charges on anything and everything. Then we found Angela. I immediately liked her pricing because it was flat per person and very straight forward, no crazy hidden charges....However, I didn't fall in love until we went for our tasting which Angela had in her beautiful home. This caught me a little off guard at first, but I loved that I got to see first hand that she treated everyone she feeds like family. It didn't matter if you were there for a tasting or a Saturday night BBQ, you were getting good food because that's what she's passionate about. During the tasting, I pretty much didn't speak because the food was so good, except to ask for seconds, and tell her that I definitely wanted something on our menu (which turned out to be everything we tasted that day... Surprise surprise lol). Between then and the big day, she got back to every email, accommodated every menu change (even up to the week before when we added hot HORS DOEVRES), and even said one day when we were on the phone "girl, if you start to feel stressed, you call me and we'll work it out!" It really put me at ease going into the big day that we had someone who really wanted to take care of us handling such a big part of the evening. Not only did she not disappoint, but she knocked it out of the park. My guests are still talking about the food and how awesome it was. If showing our guests true southern hospitality wasn't enough, the next morning we woke up and found a picnic basket that she had packed for us and gave to our coordinator to make sure we got in our suite. I immediately liked her pricing because it was flat per person and very straight forward, no crazy hidden charges....However, I didn't fall in love until we went for our tasting which Angela had in her beautiful home. This caught me a little off guard at first, but I loved that I got to see first hand that she treated everyone she feeds like family. It didn't matter if you were there for a tasting or a Saturday night BBQ, you were getting good food because that's what she's passionate about. During the tasting, I pretty much didn't speak because the food was so good, except to ask for seconds, and tell her that I definitely wanted something on our menu (which turned out to be everything we tasted that day... Surprise surprise lol). Between then and the big day, she got back to every email, accommodated every menu change (even up to the week before when we added hot HORS DOEVRES), and even said one day when we were on the phone "girl, if you start to feel stressed, you call me and we'll work it out!" It really put me at ease going into the big day that we had someone who really wanted to take care of us handling such a big part of the evening. Not only did she not disappoint, but she knocked it out of the park. My guests are still talking about the food and how awesome it was. If showing our guests true southern hospitality wasn't enough, the next morning we woke up and found a picnic basket that she had packed for us and gave to our coordinator to make sure we got in our suite. I loved working with Angela and her staff!! Thank you guys!!! -

All I have to say is Angela and the team at First Impressions is amazing! Communicating from out of town can be difficult, but Angela was always quick to respond to my questions via email and helped us plan a very successful menu! She provided in house tastings of all the main dishes (which got us very excited) and had a very detailed contract (which we appreciate). Day of, the service team was professional and thorough, all of the fruit was amazingly fresh and our guests loved the food. She even packed leftovers for us to take and served our cake. Also, the napkin colors were on point! The fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese, crab cakes, and shrimp and grits were awesome! Angela and her team made my daughter's wedding a dream, not only was the food scrumptious the service top drawer! I have been to many catered weddings and parties in my life and this group has the tenacity and pride to get it right! All around a terrible experience
We had booked this company to cater our wedding at the end of 2023, and went to taste test about 2 months prior to the event. Didnt have half of the items on our menu prepared, and what was prepared was terrible quality/tasting. I cant say if theres been a change, as it seems other couples have had good experiences, but responsiveness and most importantly the food was very subpar. I had 3 tastings on the day of your tasting and chose 4 items off each menu so you definitely had more than 2 items. The other 2 couples were very happy with their tastings and sampled the exact same food you guys did. I am so sorry that your limited experience with me was not up to your satisfaction. -
