  Fall Wedding

  Our wedding at Flat Mountain on 11/4/22 was nothing short of perfect. We got married on their mountain top ceremony spot with our reception in the barn. My wedding party got ready for the ceremony in the Wren and the Kingfisher. 10/10 recommend bridal portraits in the top level of the Kingfisher and by the airstream/waterfall! A secluded mountain resort less than 10 minutes from Highlands town center. All of my guests throughly enjoyed the beauty of the venue and getting to experience the mountains with every modern amenity.

  My Dream Fall Wedding!

  Having grown up in Highlands, it was always my dream to get married back in my hometown, somewhere outside in the fall. As soon as I stumbled on Flat Mountain Farm, I knew it was the perfect venue for our wedding. I loved the concept of being able to stay on-site for our big day. My friends and I enjoyed a pre-wedding slumber party in The Kingfisher, and it was the perfect backdrop for getting ready the day of the wedding. The setting itself is so naturally beautiful, and the colorful fall leaves provided their own perfect wedding decor. We had a small, intimate ceremony, complete with lots of personal touches, which is another reason Flat Mountain Farm is special--they allow you to customize every element of your event. We got so many compliments from our guests about how stunning our wedding and venue were, and we can't wait to go back and stay to celebrate our anniversaries in the future!

  Perfect Fall Wedding Venue

  We looked high and low for a venue that met all of our wedding desires and FMF has it all! From the tree lined pond as our ceremony backdrop to the modern barn for our reception, our guests were happy the entire time. Both families loved staying on the property in the beautifully restored cabins and all the bridesmaids were in awe getting ready in the kingfisher - perfect getaway for them! There are so many hidden photoshoot spots all around the property that your photographer will appreciate. Highly recommend your wedding here, especially in the fall! Margaret was so easy to communicate with!

  Flat Mountain Farm- The most MAGICAL Wedding Venue

  My husband and I settled on our happy place, Highlands, NC as the perfect place to get married. We stumbled upon Flat Mountain Farm & immediately fell in love with the property. Our ceremony was small & included all of our closest friends and family members. No matter what season you decide to get married, this property will be STUNNING. The owner, Margaret, has a beautiful story and background. She has thought of absolutely everything to deliver a magical experience. There is so much charm on every foot of the property. Each place to stay (Wren, Kingfisher, & Airstream) have the most thoughtful touches & great views. The design of each space is detailed, classy, & has tons of personality. Margaret allows her guests to "personalize" their wedding experience so that each wedding or event planned is one of a kind. Celebrate outside by the pond, inside the restored barn, or by a waterfall! The versatility of the property makes planning an event so much more memorable! We loved our experience & our friends have not stopped talking about it.
  Don't even get us started on the sunset photo opportunities... your pictures will be absolutely breathtaking!

  10/10 *would* recommend!

  Flat Mountain Farm was the perfect place for our elopement, but would have been fantastic for a much larger event as well. Margaret was very helpful and responsive throughout the planning process. Chris and Margaret were great throughout our stay. We got married at the waterfall by the Chickadee, stayed in the Wren and were able to take photos on the top of the mountain as well with the most gorgeous views.

  Flat Mountain Farm was the perfect place for our elopement, but would have been fantastic for a much larger event as well. Margaret was very helpful and responsive throughout the planning process.   Amazing Nature Inspired Wedding Venue

  We had our dream wedding at Flat Mountain Farm. We wanted a location that really shared our love for nature and the outdoors where we could have a natural environment with the elegant touches that Margaret’s eye for design provided.
  
  Having the property for the entire weekend was amazing. Our entire wedding party was able to be accommodated to stay on the property and enjoyed all the amenities and activities like the hot tubs, fire pits, and the guys really enjoyed fishing.
  
  We had an amazing lakeside ceremony and partied the night away in the Scandinavian styled barn. Because I’m not a night person it was heavenly to just be able to sneak away to the airstream on property after the night was over and get an amazing night of sleep without the stress of needing to make it to another hotel.
  
  10/10 would recommend Flat Mountain (:

  Flexible and generous owners and a charming, serene venue nestled in the beautiful blue ridge mountains.

  Such a delightful venue for a picturesque wedding tucked away in the most beautiful mountains! Having grown up in Highlands, picking this venue was an easy choice when making such an important decision regarding our June wedding.
  
  We had access to the property the entire weekend and never felt rushed in planning out all the activities, from the rehearsal dinner to the post-wedding breakfast on Sunday morning. Margaret was extremely easy to work with and has such an eye for detail, going above and beyond to make the weekend special, with a gift bag for both the bride and groom- such a thoughtful touch :) The entire bridal party was also able to stay in the beautifully-decorated guest houses (with the added bonus of a personal hot tub at each house). Memories we will cherish for a lifetime!
  
  We were undecided about the location of the ceremony and Margaret was very understanding and allowed us to decide last minute to have a lakeside ceremony, that could not have been more perfect! The property has an endless supply of stunning locations for your photographs, including a mountaintop view that’s idyllic during golden hour. The Airstream tucked away next to the waterfall was one of our favorite spots on property. Waking up with the love of my life, accompanied by a hot cup of french-pressed coffee was a moment I’ll never forget.
  
  If you’re thinking about booking an event with Flat Mountain Farm, don’t hesitate- you won’t be disappointed!
