    Bridal Make-up

Felice is a talented makeup artist and an amazing soul. She did my bridal makeup and I can say I have never looked so beautiful before.
She is an expert, she suggested me products that will suit my skin tone, daily makeup routine, what brushes are good for for eyes and face. How to preserve your makeup products.
Before beginning my makeup she did some pampering and massages to calm my nerves. She make me feel so comfortable and was more like a friend. She used all the high end products based on my skin tone and to accentuate my features. Everyone at the wedding praised for how pretty I was looking.
I’ll gave her 5/5 for her make-up technique.
She went an extra mile to teach me about skin care routine and how to have a healthy and glowing skin.
I would recommend her without a doubt for all your daily/ professional/ bridal makeup and skin care needs.
More love and Power to you Fe! See you soon!!! ❤️❤️❤️

    Felice is fabulous!

I got me and my bridesmaids hair and makeup done by Felice and her assistant and they were AMAZING! My hair and makeup stayed in place through the entire night, even through the humidity and rain. 100% recommend. She is incredibly talented and sweet. I couldn't of found a better person for the job.

    Flawless Faces by Felice's reply:

Thanks love! I truly appreciate you and your entire bridal party. All the girls were so sweet as well as your family 💙

Felice works so hard. She pampered me at no extra cost during trial. At times I think she gave herself ulcers so I didn’t have to worry. Her work was beautiful. She did my hair and makeup along with moh and my Mom’s makeup. I will definitely recommend and use in the future, and you will not go wrong with her. Definitely use for future events.

Our makeup artist Felice was AMAZING. My bride said she has never felt more beautiful. All of the bridesmaids had their makeup done as well, and they all looked gorgeous. She is truly an artist and you cannot go wrong picking her to do your makeup!

Love love love Felice and her work! She's an MUA who does not omly does what she's asked for but goes above and beyond. Always on time if not early. She does her very best in trying to understand client needs but she gracefully suggests what she thinks is better as a professional. Definitely Recommend!!! She did makeup for myself sisters and mom. We were all very happy so much so we invited her to wedding and reception. That is how much we appreciated her! This is now the second time I've tried to post my review. I am very happy to do for Felice, so please make sure this posts for her.

I had a wonderful experience having my Bridal makeup done by Felice, in addition to my Maid of Honor's and my stepdaughter's. She really goes all out to give you the ultimate pampered experience. I really wanted a very natural look as I don’t typically wear a lot of makeup and I had a pretty bad experience at my first makeup trial with another company. Felice went way above my expectations. Would absolutely use her again if I needed to get all glammed up

    Eek! Not a Good Choice.

Go anywhere, and hire anyone other than Felice. Even your neighbor’s ten year old. It was that bad. Of course, it seemed promising at first. Felice sounded excited on the phone, and even offered us a free facial. Sweet, right? In theory, yes. In practice, no.

When we arrived, the room was cluttered and disorganized, looking very much like a hoarder’s place. Felice was friendly, but she was also slurring her words, as well as dropping and tripping over everything. She explained she was on a new medication for high blood pressure, and purported to have performed her job under worse conditions, so let it slide at that time.

For the “facial,” Felice haphazardly pasted on some product and threw a facial mask sheet on top. She forgot what she was doing several times while bouncing between my friend and I, seeming to spend most of the time searching for things. She didn’t even properly clean the clumped/crystallized stuff off our skin before beginning with foundation.

Honestly, we should have just left before it got to this point, but Felice’s Facebook page had boasted approximately 180 five-star reviews, so I thought things would turn out well in the end if I was just patient enough. That said, Felice had six hours to put pronounced waves in my hair, put my friend’s hair in a rolled (or braided) bun, give us a light foundation, me a dramatic eye and red lip, and my friend a classic cat eye and red lip.

The result? My friend ended up with a messy bun, had to do her own lipstick, and never got her cat-eye. I had no hairstyle at all, and the make-up was atrocious. She didn’t implement our feedback, and instead argued with us about it. I told her my friend’s hair “just looks like a mess to me,” and my friend asked her to at least pin up the sides to make it look neater. She didn’t, and instead spent more time pulling the bun out to make it look even messier.

We weren’t seated in front of mirrors—we were facing a wall—so we weren’t able to see the progress in real time. Personally, I didn’t see ANY of the work done on me except a brief flash of the lip color in a hand mirror that I said I wanted darker—more red, less pink. Instead, Felice made it even lighter using a gold color.

Everyone we sent the photos too had a good, long laugh about how badly done both the hair and makeup were. It looked like I let a three-year-old practice with her Barbie pallet on my face, and my friend had a rat’s nest in her hair. My friend and I had to redo everything ourselves and were thereby late for an important gala event we were supposed to be working that night.

But wait, there’s more. Felice also burned black plastic into my hair, and didn’t even notice until my friend pointed it out. It was also my friend who had to be the one to pick and pull it out of my hair while Felice was busy looking for where the plastic melted onto her iron had originated from. She thought it had come from one of her shoes, even though the irons had been nowhere near her shoes; it had actually come from the travel case she kept setting them down on.

When confronted, Felice offered additional service as restitution, but obviously I wouldn’t dream of going back to someone who had burned plastic into my hair and didn’t actually render the requested service or anything approaching it despite having six hours to do so. I asked for half of the $390 I paid back—again, she did nothing that constituted styling to my hair, and my friend had to do her own lipstick and never even got her cat eye—and although I was told I’d be refunded $95 instead, it was clearly insincere, since her text messages were loaded with sarcasm about free gift certificates to other salons, among other belittling remarks.

I asked my lawyer to have one of their attorneys send her a letter of demand for the full $390 and will be pursuing it as necessary as a matter of principle. This was such a scam, and she shouldn’t be allowed to get away with it, or repeat the process with others. I’ll also be reporting her to the FTC for false advertising, since, get this: more than three quarters of those almost 180 five-star Facebook reviews I mentioned at the beginning are completely fake. Big surprise, there.

    Not Worth It

TL:DR - Felice appeared to be a sweetheart who seemed genuinely interested in wanting to do things for her clients, but she came to work impaired due to a new medication, did absolutely atrocious job, and when asked about it proceeded to not only try to guilt us, but also to blame us, put us down, and then refused to take any responsibility for the time wasted and a job not well done at all. I want to say she’s a good, genuine, sweet person, but her harassing us after we confronted her about it combined with perpetual guilt trips and dodging any responsibility, as well as snarky texts and flippant promises, has made me more than dubious.

TL:DR 2 - More than two thirds of the reviews on Facebook were not made by real customers. At least one review is cross-posted on several sites under different names. Yes, I have screenshots with proof of this false advertising and cross-posting.

Now for the long post for those who want to know the details:

When I sent an inquiry to Flawless Faces by Felice, she seemed to be an excellent choice. After looking around for the best possible option to spruce up my friend and I for an upcoming gala, I was delighted by the amount of positive reviews and the natural appearance of FFbF’s portfolio photos. Her wedding makeup was beautiful, the hair was simple and lovely, and everyone seemed to absolutely love the results Felice was able to create for them. She called me immediately after I wrote an inquiry; she was chipper, easy to understand, excited, and had a million sweet things to say, even to the effect of asking if we wanted anything to eat or drink while we were in her company. She seemed completely thrilled with the idea of doing a 40’s glam for us and sounded knowledgeable and easy to work with. I sent in pictures of what we were looking for, as well as pictures and descriptions of our hair, faces, and outfits, and also informed her the time she’d have to complete the looks. There was no indication that we were asking too much. All in all, it had seemed like we were going to be well taken care of and have a fun five hours.

We arrived at Felice’s office around 11am and were told she still had a client, so we waited in the car until she was finished. When Felice finally invited us in she was very excited - but there was something off. Felice was slurring her words and a little unsteady on her feet. To be perfectly honest, I was immediately worried that she had been drinking; the state of her little studio salon only seemed to confirm my worries as it was a complete wreck. I know how drunkards act, I’ve lived around them, but I’m also an artist. I know that things can get messy. I chalked it up to her perhaps being tired and hoped that the longer we stayed, the better and more coherent she would get. Our appointment started around 11:15am and was supposed to go to 4pm. That’s about five hours to put large waves, a dramatic eye, and red lip on my friend and to pull my hair back into a coiled, low crescent-shaped bun with curly wispies around my temples, along with a classic cat eye and red lip for makeup. As many of her reviews claimed she’d worked alone with large bridal parties with absolutely no issue whatsoever, I thought five hours would be more than sufficient for two clients.

But Felice seemed to be having trouble. She confided in us that her doctor had recently started her on a new blood pressure medication which I promptly looked up to see the symptoms: said medication is a sedative and can cause confusion, lightheadedness, dizziness, drowsiness, fever, restlessness, among others. Felice had been dropping things left and right, tripped over cords and boxes that were laying against the wall, and overall seemed to have a terrible sense of balance. She frequently asked if we were hot or uncomfortable and commented that she was. She repeated questions we’d already answered, and often forgot what we were talking about in the middle of a sentence. I concluded to myself that her behavior must’ve been a side-effect from starting this new drug and, while I felt a little better about how she was acting, I was skeptical about whether or not she could perform her task as a professional makeup artist and hair stylist.

The short answer is no, she could not. The first three hours were spent with her bouncing back and forth between my friend and myself. She never seemed to finish one thing before starting another and she didn’t appear to have an active plan in mind. She began with a facial about forty-five minutes in and distractedly dabbed some kind of cream on my friend’s face, along with a charcoal mud mask on her nose, before covering everything with a face mask. She put a mask on my face as well and then bounced between the front room and the back as she kept forgetting what she was doing, where she was going, what she needed, and she was constantly squinting at products and muttering to herself. When she finally remembered to remove the face masks it was over forty-five minutes later and she didn’t properly rinse all the product off our faces. She used an oil to start giving my friend a bit of a face massage before getting completely distracted again. I had to go to the bathroom to remove the leftover pumpkin spice product she used on my nose (which smelled amazing, I will say) or she would’ve started to put foundation on while there was still residue as she never tried to remove it with more than a dab or two of a damp washcloth.

It was nearly two when she started my friend’s hair by putting three curlers into her bangs and one long section of hair at her temple (my friend has very long hair) and then suddenly pivoted and told us to switch so she could start on my hair. I thought perhaps she was getting frustrated with the new curlers she’d gotten (they had quite literally just arrived from amazon). My friend’s hair was completely down and unstyled, with only four haphazardly placed curlers. Felice couldn’t seem to remember what I wanted done with my hair and so I showed her. She confessed she wasn’t sure if I had enough hair for it (my hair is past my shoulder blades and thick, she would’ve had plenty especially if she used the foam inserts she mentioned being used for hairstyles like I was requesting) and tried to convince me to do something else; I relented and found something else, something easier, because by now over three hours had gone by and we had nothing done. She didn’t pick up my friend’s hair again until around 3:30pm, when we had to leave by 4pm.

Felice spent a good amount of time trying to pin up my hair according to what I’d shifted to - a simple, braided bun. She showed her work to my friend and my friend confessed that she thought the whole thing looked like a mess. I was told to look in the bathroom at the work and I did and… my roommate was correct, but I thought Felice was really doing her hardest while being impaired, so I thought I’d be able to salvage what was going on by asking for her to tighten up some of the loose strands that were hanging from the side of my head. Honestly, it looked like I had let my three-year old niece do my hair for me with about fifty bobby pins and no actual style. Felice didn’t take my suggestion well, claiming that I wouldn’t get the romantic wisps if we pinned it all back. Still, I persisted, but with no results. Felice ended up pulling out more strands than she had even originally had while repeating that it would all “fall beautifully” by the end of the night. The result, which you can see the attached images for, is that I looked as though I had a rat’s nest at the back of my head which I then slept in and took pictures of the very next morning after getting caught in a cyclone. It wasn’t even close to what I had originally wanted, and not nearly as lovely as the style I had switched to, which was even simpler. I ended up having to remove every single bobby pin and just do a simple, tight bun myself.

Felice did, at one point, take a little glittery clip and placed it in my hair. She gazed at it and looked so absolutely pleased. She even whispered that I looked like a princess, which was unbearably sweet, but shows just how far this new medication was skewing her ability to do this job she claims to take great pride in.

And that’s not the worst of it. Felice was so impaired that she was carelessly putting things down and tripping over them, she was forgetting things in the other room, she did little circles frequently trying to find things that were often in her hand, and wasn’t carefully watching all five hot hair tools she’d plugged in - and not only that, she placed one of her hot irons onto a rolling suitcase she told us usually carried all her supplies when she traveled to clients. The hot iron melted some of the black plastic on the rolling suitcase, which she then proceeded to use in my friend’s hair. With the melted plastic. I caught it and brought it to her attention and then, while Felice tried to figure out where it came from, I picked out the plastic which had been burned into my friend’s hair. My friend, thankfully, couldn’t see what was going on and, also thankfully, I was able to get it out before any real damage was done. Felice then spent the next hour or so chatting good-naturedly and getting absolutely nothing done. She would start using the iron on my friend’s hair, leave it in for about half a minute, and then sort of gently compress the iron down the length of her hair rather like how a child might pretend to cut paper with their fingers. She didn’t leave it in long enough to put any sort of wave in except at the very top, at the very first crimp, and she kept going between one crimper and another. The result being that my friend, who has naturally long, spiral curls, had almost straight hair when we left. Throughout her entire time with my hair and my friend's, Felice kept adding more and more product until our hair just looked straggly and harried - which was how I was beginning to feel at this point.

It was after four when I finally convinced her to start our makeup. My friend’s hair wasn’t even remotely close to being done. Mine was a wreck, still, after Felice stopped listening to my requests; but we were hoping that perhaps makeup would be better. Maybe this was where she’d really shine.

    We were wrong.

Felice started by going back and forth between us again, starting with one thing or another, then going back to the first, then back to yet another, scrambling to get more foundation or color or whatever it was she thought she needed and the result was not even close to what we wanted or even what we know she’d done for previous clients. She put almost fluorescent pink on my friend’s lips, when she wanted a classic red, did not blend any of the foundation or setting spray. She used the same colors on both of us, when we have different skin tones. She clumsily colored my roommate’s eyebrows - one was thicker than the other, both had patches of darker color throughout the shape and then patches of almost no color at all. Her eyeliner wasn’t straight or even - in fact, my roommate hadn’t wanted eyeliner to begin with. She wanted a dramatic smokey eye. The gaudy pink lipstick wasn’t evenly placed, some of the color was above the lip and some of it didn’t even stretch to the edges of her lips. I tried to counsel Felice on how to fix it, but she ended up just chattering over me and continuing to do exactly as she’d been doing before.

I got to do my own lip color, so mine looked great, but I had to take several of her palettes to the bathroom and take care of myself while she was still tripping around my friend.

We ended up leaving around 4:50pm after much coaxing on my part because I knew we had to leave and fix everything; Felice had nearly six hours to take care of us and I left without a cat-eye and a hairstyle I had to completely rework, while my friend had no hairstyle at all. We both had to rework our faces and hair before scrambling to get to the gala as soon as possible. If we’d stayed home we would’ve saved about $400 and almost six hours in total. We ended up being late to our function and were both flabbergasted and I was feeling quite stressed because of it.

But that’s not even the end.

We decided to confront Felice about it, nicely. My friend sent Felice a picture of her makeup and simply asked, “What happened???” And Felice wrote back that she thought my friend looked very pretty and that “if [she couldn’t] see how beautiful she is that [wasn’t Felice’s] problem.” She then proceeded to berate my friend for not speaking up (we weren’t in front of mirrors, we couldn’t see everything that was going on, and my roommate hadn’t been to the bathroom except to change into her dress so how could we speak up about something we weren’t actively watching?) and on top of that, began to say that it was our fault for not giving her enough time. Nearly six hours wasn’t enough time. She claimed my friend’s hair was too long and too thick to do anything with (when she was trying to give it more volume at the very beginning of the session) and that I simply didn’t have enough for what I wanted (when she didn’t even try to give me what I had wanted). She tried to claim she got us in and out in two hours, but we have the texts proving otherwise. When we presented this information to her, Felice got extremely defensive and said she had more important things to worry about.

That, however, doesn’t excuse how poorly she did. She has a business she claims to take pride in; she should be able to take responsibility for one bad day. If she really had so much going on in her life (and this is not taking into consideration the medication impairing her judgement) then she shouldn’t have gone to work to begin with. She scolded us for not appreciating her generosity (which we never asked for) and said that no one appreciates nice people or gestures anymore. She continued onward to say that was what she got for being generous and nice and we could take our complaints elsewhere. She said she’d send us coupons to another salon and a quarter of our money back, but since she had no way to get any of that to us, it makes the entire suggestion a slap in the face.

She even suggested that we were lying by telling us we’d be slandering her if we said anything at all and told us that she had cameras proving the truth; to which we heartily agreed. Cameras would show the truth, recordings would show the truth: she was severely impaired that day and should not have been at work.

And now, let me get into the reviews business. Flawless Faces by Felice has one hundred and eighty-one (181) five star reviews on Facebook. I went through and checked them. Over one hundred and thirty (130) of those reviews are made from accounts in Iran, Iraq, Bangladesh, and other middle eastern countries. Each reviewer has a profile filled with nothing but reviews. The reviews are copied and pasted. They say things like, “I put this man through hell and back and he still came through for me,” “Thanks bro,” “good job sir,” etc etc when Felice is a woman. There are reviews made by accounts created the day they wrote the review and were never used again. More than three quarters of all of Felice’s reviews across all of her websites are fake and many of those which appear genuine were given by her family and personal friends. I’m still in the process of checking the reviews which look genuine to see if they’re being cross-posted and are made by real people; so far, one has been cross-posted in several places under a different name each time. If we hadn’t seen that she had so many ‘good reviews’ we never would’ve gone to her business to begin with.

While it is possible that this might’ve never happened if she hadn’t been just starting a new medication, all signs point to her not being capable of performing what she promises. If she’d simply taken responsibility and admitted she wasn’t up to working that day, refunded half of what we paid as requested, and apologized for putting us through a panic in an attempt to be on time to the function we were needed for, I wouldn’t be here on every single one of her websites with this review.

One bad day doesn’t undo all the good work you’ve done in the past, but refusing to take responsibility and berating your customers sure will.

Attached you'll find pictures of what we wanted vs what we got.
