Awesome acoustic guitarist and singer
Rusty was amazing! He played our ceremony and cocktail hour. He is super talented and created an unforgettable atmosphere at our party. He is well-known in Key West and came highly recommended by our wedding venue as well. His extensive playlist includes a ton of 90s-2000s hits, rock, and country, which was right up our gen Y alley. As part of his package, Rusty offers to learn two unique songs that are not on his playlist. We wanted to go in a non-traditional direction with our first dance song which was originally a rock song. Rusty transformed it into an incredible acoustic version that was unique to us and made our first dance memorable. Our only mistake was not hiring him for more time.Rusty was amazing! Absolute BEST Musician/DJ Duo in Key West!
We had Rusty Lemmon and DJ Buggy perform all of the music for our wedding ceremony and reception, and we could not have been more blown away! When we found out that our outstanding wedding planner, Kayla, had hired them for her own wedding all the way up in Ohio, we knew that we needed to get these guys for our own in town. They are the nicest people, super responsive/professional, and so incredibly talented at what they do.
Rusty Lemmon learned every single ceremony song we requested to sing/play on the guitar, and then went above and beyond with flawless renditions of Third Eye Blind, our favorite band. His voice is amazing and his guitar skills are out of this world. To say that every guest was impressed is a major understatement!
DJ Buggy, as you can probably tell from his other reviews, is the opposite of a typical "wedding DJ." I know how cheesy this is to say, but he is truly an expert "crowd reader". He nailed all of our song requests, and knew what to play and when. Needless to say, the dance floor was never not jam-packed and extremely energetic!
So a huge kudos and thanks to DJ Buggy & Rusty Lemmon - they took my OCD emails, requests, "do-not-plays", and all of our own music ideas in stride - and over delivered on all of it. The performance these guys put on is priceless, and we would 100% hire again and recommend that you check them out for your own wedding, or any party for that matter!We had Rusty Lemmon and DJ Buggy perform all of the music for our wedding ceremony and reception, and we could not have been more blown away! My only regret was that we didn't get a chance to hear Rusty play our cocktail hour as we were taking our sunset pictures. Our guests raved about him and loved his music at the cocktail hour. Rusty also learned Ed Sheeren's Perfect and performed it live for our first dance. We asked him to change a few of the words around to make it our own song and he absolutely nailed it! We cant wait to go back to Key West and see him live again. The combination of Rusty and DJ Buggy offers a wedding party the best of both worlds of music. We highly recommend Rusty and DJ Buggy and look no further for your South Florida wedding entertainment.

Would highly recommend Rusty for any weddings, he performed Solo at our wedding in June 2017 and was fantastic from start to finish! We were very wary booking our vendors as we travelled from Scotland to Islamorada for our wedding and did not want a typical wedding DJ! Rusty did everything we asked of him and more, he is an extremely talented singer and guitarist and played all our requested songs as and when we has asked for them! He made our wedding feel so comfortable and relaxed, even participating in my dads speech (which was very last minute I believe) and performing with my brother! He even played a few traditional Scottish songs for us at the end of the night and made our wedding everything we could have hope for! Rusty was highly recommended by our wedding planner and thankfully we listened to her! What a perfect rehearsal dinner we had, the music was AMAZING and every guest loved him! He is so friendly, nice, professional and a breeze to work with. He already had such a broad list of songs that he knew so we did not even have to request that he learn any other songs. We picked which songs we wanted and he delivered! The best part is that he let my cousin (who is a guitar instructor in Connecticut) play a few songs while Rusty sang. The duo was incredible and it was such a memorable moment to watch my cousin play in front of all our friends and family. We SO appreciate it!! My only regret is trying to negotiate price, (LOL) being a real estate agent it comes naturally but Rusty is worth EVERY penny, BOOK HIM!! :))Rusty was highly recommended by our wedding planner and thankfully we listened to her! Hiring Rusty for our wedding reception was THE best decision we made while planning our wedding. He was beyond amazing and made our reception the highlight of the day. We had a small reception of 30 guests in a restaurant and my fear was that it would be a quiet boring night, but Rusty made sure that wasn't the case. He interacted with our guests, played special requests, shared the mic with my sister in law for a couple of songs and even indulged all the girls, old and young that were swooning over him lol. Not only does he have a beautiful voice, but this guy has a beautiful spirit and that shines through and through and we could tell he was there for us and wanted to show that. He learned our two special requests for our first and second dance and he was on point and played them beautifully. He was also gracious enough to share his mic for our wedding guest speeches since that was so important for us to have and record. After the wedding we walked down Duval street bar crawling and we were stopped by random strangers that were dining at the restaurant and not only were they saying congrats but they all said they didn't want to leave the restaurant because the music was that good and were asking who we hired and how we found him. That should say it all right there! Rusty, if you're reading this thank you very much for that night. You have no idea how blessed we feel to have hired you for our wedding reception. We wanted our family and friends to LOVE it all and fall in love with KW and you were a big part of that. Thank you for that! As most of the girls were saying that night "GO RUSTYYYYYYYYYY!!!!" Given we live abroad and had never heard Rusty and the band play, he sent us a few short videos and was really responsive throughout the whole booking process. On the day of the wedding, Rusty did some acoustic music during the cocktail reception and then the band really got the dance floor going after dinner. My niece who is lead singer for Boston band Scarlett Drive and lead singer for Boston's #1 wedding band said "Rusty's vocals are amazing...one of the best I've ever heard!".Rusty Lemmon and his duo partner were the perfect music addition for our daughter's Sunset Sail wedding event in Key West. Great music selection, outstanding music and vocals. They served as a one-stop shop and handled everything from the ceremony music, to light acoustic background during cocktail hour and then transitioned into an all-out jam session at the end. They even seemed to actually enjoy letting my sister sing with them on several songs, which was so much fun! My one and only complaint was that my own processional music in the wedding ceremony didn't exactly go according to plan and I think that was due to some communication issues somewhere along the way. That disappointed me but the mistake was quickly made up for during the reception. Everyone loved these guys and we had a age range of guests from 8 to 70! My husband and I traveled to Key West a few months before our wedding to select vendors. Rusty was highly recommended to us as a musician for our destination wedding. Sadly, Rusty's performance schedule didn't coincide with our travel plans, but he graciously offered for us to meet him at his home! We listened to a few of his music clips online prior to meeting him, but we were absolutely blown away by his talent when we heard him in person! He has an incredible voice, and I had goosebumps listening to him sing and play his guitar. He played a handful of songs for us, some of which were fairly obscure, but he was familiar with them and he could sing and play them impeccably! There was no way I was leaving his house without booking him for our wedding! He provided us with a list of songs we could select for the ceremony & reception, and even offered to learn a couple of songs that weren't in his repertoire. We were able to easily communicate with him by email in the months leading up to the wedding to finalize our music selections. On the day of the wedding, he arrived with plenty of time to set up his equipment. The wedding ceremony music was beautiful, and the assortment of songs he elected to play during the reception were superb! Several of our guests commented on Rusty's outstanding performance and, of course, how handsome he was! Rusty was a huge hit with everyone including all of our other vendors we worked with. When we told them Rusty would be performing they all raved about him. The booking process could not have been easier either and he even learned a few new songs that we requested as well!
I'm so glad we worked with him - on the suggestion of Erica from Simply You.

Rusty's passionate & warm voice won us over immediately and we booked him on the spot!
So grateful that all the musicians were highly reliable & professional on multiple occasions. We definitely recommend this band!

Let me start by saying that you'd be stupid not to hire Rusty. Every single aspect of his performance, ie: music, singing, skill, was absolutely amazing. We hired Rusty to play at our ceremony, at cocktail hour, and he also did a combo with DJ Buggy at the reception, which by the way was also amazing. Rusty has such an incredible voice, and trust me, you want to hear his voice during your ceremony along with his excellent guitar skills.
He makes it super easy for you too. He will email you a large list of music, you choose a handful of stuff you like and/or don't like, and he will take it from there, easy.
Rusty even sang lyrics to songs that our dj was playing, I mean, come on! Unless you physically saw Rusty singing those lyrics, you would have thought it was the song playing. He's the best. My husband and I had our wedding reception at the Conch Republic Seafood House in Key West last weekend. When we heard that Rusty was scheduled to perform that night, we were ecstatic. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, I emailed with Rusty regarding First Dance, Father/Daughter Dance, etc. suggestions. He was extremely flexible and I felt so confident about that night. Because he was playing for the restaurant that night and not our private affair, he absolutely did not have to go above and beyond to play our requested songs, but he did! He is so talented that several of our guests asked me if he had a CD or Itunes. We heard Rusty Lemmon and the Rock Steady Band planning at a wedding when we walked by the Audubon House in Key West. They were awesome. We asked a member of the staff if we could talk with someone about having Rusty Lemmon and the Rock Steady Band play at our wedding. Rusty Lemmon and the Rock Steady Band did a fantastic job playing at our reception right up to when we got rained out at 10:30 pm. Rusty Lemmon plays at the Southernmost Resort pool from time to time. Rusty was outstanding - truly the best! He was very flexible and had no problem shifting around the song list. His voice is beautiful and the southern charm went down brilliantly with the guests. My only regret is that I didn't get to spend more time getting to know Rusty (as the groom it was very hectic).

Close to 8 months later, out of the blue on Feb 9th, 2017 I received an email from him canceling the booking (I've copied/posted the email below). He flaked on my wedding 2 months out, with the only explanation being that he had lost an "integral musician". However, if you check out his FB page you can see that he's performing in plenty of weddings and events in the Keys this month and next. I never received a courtesy call, or email response to my inquiries following this blunt cancellation. I scrambled to book another band, which is hard to do in a place like The Keys - there are only a certain number of good options. It was by far and away the most unprofessional experience I've had. Buyer beware.

We are sorry to inform you that we have lost an integral musician and will not be able to perform for your wedding. We are returning your deposit as we mailed it yesterday. You should have it in the next couple of days.
