Gainesville Country Club was absolutely amazing to work with on planning and hosting my wedding. We cannot speak more highly of Aaron and the Country Club. They were flexible in working on planning the wedding of our dreams. The staff was incredible and very professional. The food was delicious! Since we were planning our wedding on our own Aaron was able to walk us through each of the details and helped us coordinate with other vendors. When our wedding ceremony had to be moved indoors, Aaron and his staff helped make the transition flawless. Our Guest are still telling us what a great time they had at our reception. The Country Club was a tremendous part of making that happen and I can not imagine having my wedding at any other location in Gainesville.Gainesville Country Club was absolutely amazing to work with on planning and hosting my wedding. Overall, this was a great value. We had the reception here. The country club is very pretty and it is nestled up against a nature preserve so the entire place doesn't just feel like a golf course (which I liked since I like a lot of natural beauty). The staff was extremely flexible and accommodating. They were well-experienced and gave helpful suggestions and advice. They were also one of the best rates in town. I would recommend using them .Overall, this was a great value. We had the reception here. Our wedding reception at the Gainesville Country Club was beautiful, and although it may have taken some effort to get everything just the way we wanted, it all worked out wonderfully in the end. Aaron, the food and beverage director, sealed the deal for us. Some previous reviewers mentioned working with Courtney, and although she was helpful at times, communication was spotty for the most part. She has since left the club, anyway. Aaron, on the other hand, was super accommodating and walked through the entire club with us to go over every detail. He was patient and made sure every base was covered for us.
The club itself is elegant, and though it isn’t necessarily massive, it is one of the larger venues in Gainesville in terms of capacity, which is what we needed. Their bar selection was extensive (a plus!), and the food was mostly delicious (particularly the salmon and chicken florentine). Aaron and the staff were very flexible and helpful in taking care of details for us, including helping other vendors set up, arranging the table layout to ensure space and flow, and arranging golf carts for us to take photos on their course. Ultimately, it is a lovely space with friendly staff, and we would recommend it as a great place to hold an event. Our wedding reception at the Gainesville Country Club was beautiful, and although it may have taken some effort to get everything just the way we wanted, it all worked out wonderfully in the end. This one gets the lowest marks I would give any of the services we used, but really only for the initial service we received. The food was great, the venue was awesome (a little cramped), but the people we dealt with at first (whom I believe are no longer with the club) quoted us one price for food and then said we would run out with as many guests as we were planning to have. They gave my wife a headache for a while, but finally made it right. All the servers and representatives of the club were nice and efficient, and the night was a huge success. Everyone seemed to have fun, which was what really mattered. This one gets the lowest marks I would give any of the services we used, but really only for the initial service we received. I felt that Courtney over delivered/promised what would happen at the reception venue. All the staff seemed to hide in the kitchen during the entire evening. We (Bride & Groom) were promised to be served our plates during dinner. However, we sat down and no servers were to be found! My mother served us our food! The food was also disappointing! The green beans were undercooked and the chicken was rubbery, the salad was just iceberg lettuce! Another thing that happened was when we cut the cake Courtney was supposed to cut the rest of the cake, but she was apparently hiding in the kitchen or not even there because I never saw her! The servers were supposed to bring out the cupcakes after we cut the cake and again my photographer had to go into the kitchen to tell the servers to deliver the cupcakes! Steak'n Shake has better service and most of their waiters are in highschool!I felt that Courtney over delivered/promised what would happen at the reception venue.
