We are SO glad that we chose this venue. We didn’t have to decorate the venue much because it’s already so elegant with beautiful art. We had many friends coming all the way from other states, so we didn’t want to make it look too cheap. This venue offers reasonable plan, yet the quality you get is beyond that. Mary was very professional and experienced, and we fully relied on her in coordinating. This venue and Mary made our day very very special and successful. Highly recommended!

My wife and I are very blessed to have held our wedding and reception at gallery forty-two! The staff was amazing!!!

We are SO happy to have found Gallery Forty-Two and Mary! My husband and I wanted a more intimate wedding with just close family, and the gallery was perfect for us. We ended up with about 30-40 people, although the space could easily fit double that if you wanted.

The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous, and has so many amazing spaces and pieces. Honestly, words will not do it justice - you just have to see it in photographs and in person, it's just unbelievable.

Mary was an absolute joy to work with! She answered all our questions and was so flexible. We planned our own wedding, and Mary shared a bunch of ideas other couples had to help us out, and was always open to working with our ideas. She made sure our favorite statues were by the wedding arch the day of the wedding, and let us point out our favorite pieces (and asked if we wanted to veto some pieces). We wanted to do a lounge area instead of a dance floor, and she knocked it out of the park! When we were stuck on a florist, she recommended our florist (the Archivist, Paula Shoultz), who was absolutely amazing. Mary was also our day-of coordinator and ROCKED. We worried about nothing the entire day!

If you're looking for a small-midsized elegant venue in Indianapolis, you absolutely have to check out Gallery Forty-Two.

We can't recommend this venue enough! Not only is it gorgeous and unique, but everyone was also absolutely wonderful to work with! Leading up to the day, Mary and Linda were responsive and helpful with our questions and helped us choose different packages according to our specific needs and budget. They worked with our requests seamlessly, and helped us connect with both a caterer and a brewery that were somewhat new to serving at weddings. We requested the use of one of their many gorgeous mirrors for a guest list. The bridal and grooms suites for getting ready are PERFECT all around--pool for the guys while the ladies take their time getting ready, wonderful photo backdrops... I could go on and on about this building. But best of all, on the evening of the reception, the staff went above and beyond for us. We never asked the bar tenders to use our sentimental glasses all night, fill them with each of our favorite beers (we had "his/hers"), and find us around the dance floor to refill them without asking... but they did! Smiling with us, visibly celebrating with us... it felt like we had made new best friends. I'm not kidding. Our wedding was the happiest, most beautiful day in so many little ways that caught us by surprise, and this venue and its owner/staff are a HUGE reason why. We will be stopping by for their other fun events and continue our support of such a wonderful place with such sweet and amazing people! Thank you, Gallery Forty-Two.

I do not think that you would find a more unique and elegant venue. It is smaller and worked perfect for us!

They were up front on all costs. Great location! It was plus that it was a family owned venue.

Gallery Forty-Two was the first venue I walked into and I knew I could just stop looking. It was beautiful and perfect for our 120 person wedding. What I didn't know when I booked was how amazing Curt and Nick would be leading up to and during my wedding day. My bridesmaids and I got ready upstairs, which was perfect. But there was an issue with our breakfast at our hotel the morning of. My planner had uber eats deliver food to the venue and Nick set it up on the bar for us with plates and silverware and coffee from the museums Keurig. This little story is just one of the many ways that they go above and beyond as a venue. They are the most flexible and easy to work with, and everything was absolutely gorgeous. Also, you get to curate the museum for your wedding night, HOW COOL?! I could not recommend booking here more!

We had our ceremony and reception here and it is a dream venue... It's so beautiful inside that you hardly need to decorate. The location in downtown Indianapolis is exceptional and easy for your out-of-town guests. There are a number of nearby hotels to chose from and your guests can simply walk to the venue. There are 2 large suites upstairs for the wedding parties to get ready in and they are both equipped with fridges so you can store drinks and snacks. Nick and Curt are amazing to work with. They responded quickly to emails and were really flexible through the planning process. Our entire day went without incident, everything was smooth and executed perfectly. It was the absolute best experience and I highly recommend this venue!

What a gorgeous venue!! We wanted to have a home town reception following our daughter's earlier out of state wedding. Since we had already done one wedding reception out of state we were looking to do something unique. Gallery 42 was the perfect location! We planned a cocktail party with pass around hors d'oeuvres and a trio playing upstairs. The gallery provided an intimate and elegant space for our 125 guests. Curt and Nick were very attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed. The gallery's restored architecture and artwork proved to be a beautiful and memorable venue to celebrate the newlyweds! (Best of all, with so many great pieces of artwork in the gallery there was no decoration needed. :))

I worked with Curt Hunter and Nick Hunter on planning my wedding. My husband and I live in the DC area so we were planning this event from long distance and the stresses of coordinating a wedding from a far is difficult. Curt and Nick made our planning process SO smooth and easy. They were extremely flexible, high engaged in the process, and even helped put together little add-ons that made our night extremely memorable. I am in the hospitality business by profession and I was thoroughly impressed by the level of care professionalism and partnership of these two. The facility is very unique also and offers a lot of unique options on how to best utilize for smaller events. I am very impressed by this facility and will certainly be recommending this venue and Curt and Nick to anyone that I know that is planning an event in Indianapolis! We had a our fundraiser at Gallery Forty-Two, and Nick was amazing! He helped us every step of the way to make sure our event was a huge success. He was flexible, accessible and professional. We had a great experience, and I would highly recommend this venue for your next event!

Gallery Forty Two was the perfect place for our wedding! Nick and his staff were absolutely wonderful in getting everything prepared and ready for us, very accommodating for our needs, and extremely fast when responding to my emails and calls. The space is absolutely gorgeous! They have an Airplay system, video screen upstairs, a private bridal suite, and gorgeous art work that is on display during the wedding. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful and better place to get married. Cannot say enough about how great Nick and his staff are as well!

Gallery Forty-Two is a unique and amazing venue. Nick and his brother are fantastic! They were patient and professional; offering help and suggestions to make an unforgettable evening!

For our wedding, we wanted an intimate gathering of family and friends in a beautiful location that was actually affordable. That was exactly what we got at Gallery 42. From our first visit and introduction with the owners, we knew this was the spot for our wedding. Not only is the the location absolutely gorgeous, but Gallery 42 was flexible and allowed us to create the wedding that we wanted, not a pre-packaged, overly-produced bridal event. Every time we made a request, the answer was yes - we can do that. Responsive, excellent customer service and just nice, nice, nice people. Plus, their downtown location makes for excellent photos inside and outside the venue. Nearly a year later, our family and friends are still talking about how beautiful and special our wedding was and we believe much of that had to do with finding the perfect location to host all those we love.
