    Stunning event & amazing planning service from Katie

    I can't put into words how grateful I am that Katie Wilgus was our wedding planner for our wedding last month. After our first coffee meeting, I knew she is IT. She is super dialed into the wedding industry and was able to easily rattle off recommendations for vendors that matched our style, wants and needs. I also found her to be very thoughtful, strategic, smart, and extremely calm, not to mention super experienced. And the proof is in the pudding -- if you look at photos of her events, they are so incredibly beautiful, put-together and stylish.

    We were originally supposed to be married in May 2020, and having to put off our marriage several times due to the pandemic was a huge disappointment. But Katie stuck by us through two rounds of rescheduling and helped us through it ALL. She understands events and the industry so well that even though the pandemic was uncharted territory for all of us, her knowledge and gut instincts saved us many times. She was always quick to answer emails and phone calls, and there was never a loose end on her watch -- she is so organized and focused. And we could always count on her to be super honest and transparent with her advice; if spending money on something added a lot of value or made a lot of sense, she would tell us, but she would also let us know where we could easily save money. I was happy with every one of her recommendations -- vendors, decor, paper goods, everything! I will also never forget the many examples of kindness and empathy that Katie showed us, including literally HOLDING a plate of cheese and fruit for me to eat from between photos on my wedding day! Her compassion and positive energy are honestly humbling.

    When we were planning our event with all these masking and safety restrictions, I was worried that after all this work and all these postponements, the resulting event was going to feel like a compromise. But our day was honestly perfect and stunningly beautiful, and a lot of the credit for that goes to Katie. I am forever grateful and would heartily recommend her to anyone planning an event.

    Madison asked questions that we never would have thought of and we are so thankful we had her by our side throughout the process!

    My husband and I worked with Madison at GATHER Events and we couldn't be happier with our decision. We used GATHER's month-of planning services which made the final moments of our wedding so much more enjoyable. We were able to fully absorb the time with our families and friends without any stress of last minute logistics/planning. Throughout our time working with her, Madison made communications with our vendors such a breeze. We always felt like we had an ally at our side during difficult conversations or decisions.

    Our event had the added constraint of COVID. At the last minute, we had to switch from an 80+ person wedding to a 10 person gathering. Madison was flexible, understanding, and helped us addend our event to adhere to all of the local regulations. She helped us comply with all of Seattle's COVID guidelines while keeping our guests and the staff at the wedding safe and healthy. At the same time, she made sure that our event still felt special and memorable.

    Madison was also invaluable for her eye for design! She created gorgeous place cards for our wedding guests and helped to curate the dinnerware for our table. She asked questions that we never would have thought of and we are so thankful we had her by our side throughout the process! Would recommend GATHER, and Madison in particular without a doubt :)

    Wonderful!!

    We couldn’t say enough good things about Gather. Jessica was amazing and took care of so many things I was stressed about. I told my now husband so many times that hiring Gather was one of the best things we did for our wedding!

    The Very Best!

    When my now husband and I decided to have a wedding, we thought our general aptitude and preparation would allow us to put something together easily and maybe have someone come in for the month before to assure it went smoothly. Well, this proved to be a terrible idea and we should have hired Katie and Gather from the very beginning.
    After we brought Katie on, mid-planning, our days were easier and we felt confident that the day would go without a hitch.
    To our delight, this was indeed true and we were blown away with how smoothly the day went. Katie was on top of everything, so detail oriented and such a huge pleasure to work with.
    We recommend Katie and Gather events for any event, big or small, they can do it all!

    Best choice we made!

    We are so glad that we booked Katie and Gather Events for our wedding coordinator. We were initially on the fence if we should book one or not and we are so happy we did! Katie was so helpful from day 1. She was easy to communicate with and helped take away so much stress! We met with her a few times before the wedding and she quickly helped develop and set up our perfect experience. The entire wedding day went so smooth and a huge part was due to Katie and her team being there and keeping things in line. So grateful to Gather Events and would definitely recommend them!

    The BEST wedding decision I could have made!

    Other than choosing my groom, booking Alissa from GATHER Events was the best wedding decision I ever could have made! She came highly recommended, so I pulled up the GATHER site and browsed through their Instagram photos. I had never seen a planner with taste so in sync with my own. I got really excited and reached out to Alissa right away. From our first phone conversation, I felt her kindness and genuine personality shine through and knew this was someone I wanted to entrust with the details of the biggest day of my life. Alissa always went above and beyond - from introducing us to vendors the first day we met at a wedding show - to driving four hours round-trip to meet with us well beyond the contracted amount of hours - to expertly using her mad design skills to help me envision my tablescape - to putting in so much time and effort for us on the day of. Set-up was a nightmare because it was pouring down rain all day. Alissa knew how badly I wanted to get married outside, so she went from setting up plan A all the way through plan D (which wasn't even planned!). I'm sure all the staff and vendors were vexed, but Alissa will do whatever it takes to make her client's dreams a reality. Many thanks to the other GATHER gals who stepped up on short notice to whip my wedding day details together. I gave them all of my decor and a few photos to work with and they perfectly situated every detail just as I would have done if I were doing it myself. They also stepped in towards the end of the night when Alissa wasn't feeling well. They didn't miss a beat! I knew I needed help pulling all the details together on my wedding day and the days leading up to it. I never knew how much more help I needed staying organized, finding just the right decor, making certain decisions, or just staying sane. The wedding planning process can be daunting, stressful and overwhelming. Alissa was my guiding light through it all. There are so many versions of how you think your wedding day will look or how it will go during the many months of planning. I thought for sure that something wouldn't look right or that the timeline would get thrown off, but I was so wrong. Everything looked better than I had even imagined it and the day (from our perspective) was perfect. Alissa took care of every detail so that Brian and I could sit back, take in every moment and enjoy time with our most precious loved ones. She's like an invisible angel, pulling all the strings behind the scenes to create a seemingly seamless and beautiful day. I'm sure she (like most wedding planners) never gets the praise she deserves, but I know she does it anyway out of love, joy and the fulfillment of having a hand in executing couple's most memorable days of their lives. I could not feel more blessed to have gotten to work with such a loving, caring and skilled woman. She made my wedding dreams come true, relieved so much of my stress and always offered a friendly smile and warm advice. I will forever be grateful to this amazing woman for giving me a day I will forever look back on with the biggest heart and fondest of memories.

    Alissa and the GATHER team are crazy competent, extremely friendly, and wildly fun to work with (and as a bonus: they’ll save you a ton of money by making sure you think about the things you’d forget to think about)!!!

    Alissa was the second vendor we booked after our venue and we wish she’d had been the first. We booked Alissa & GATHER for their “month of” package and it was the best decision we made, hands down. She is the profound professional, points out places to save and places to splurge (depending on what you’re looking for), has a kick-ass preferred vendor list, and has been in the industry long enough to have a crazy depth of knowledge of local vendors.

    Our wedding went off almost without a hitch, but when the one issue did arise she helped us brainstorm solutions and work with our other vendors to solve the problem. For day-of, she helped us scope extra staffing requirements and add some last second details that really paid off in smiling guest faces. Many guests commented on the friendliness of the event staff and, while it is a small detail, it added a lot to the event.

    The GATHER team and Alissa are great planners and, just as importantly, great people who care deeply about what they do. 100% recommend.

    Wonderful to work with - use them!

    We hired Gather to help with our wedding last summer at Kiana Lodge. Jessica and Alissa we wonderful to work with. Both my wife and I were living in other cities than were the wedding was, so Jessica's checklists and help with organization were a huge help. This was a first wedding for both of us, so to have a team of pros who have seen it all and done it all backing us up and helping to keep things on track and organized was invaluable. Jessica was our primary point of contact, and the calm, organized but relaxed way she has about her was a wonderful influence on us. Whenever we got nervous about something or some detail, she had advice on how to handle it or took care of it for us. We'd recommend Gather to anybody.

    Katie was so incredible to have as a wedding coordinator. She really took the time to have a perfect understanding of my vision for every aspect of the wedding, down to the last detail, and then executed it all exactly as I had hoped. I felt so comfortable with her at the helm. Plus she took the time to make sure my husband and I took out time to get something to eat and drink and had a moment to cherish everything going on. I would absolutely hire her again in a heartbeat!

    Laura Allin and all the Gather girls are true dream weavers! We hired Laura / Gather for soup-to-nuts planning for our 3 day wedding weekend in Joshua Tree, and the result was pure magic...we are still floating. Word to the wise: enlisting their full services is 100% worth it (for secondary events too), and actually ends up saving you money on the backend.

    The wedding Laura created for us was the most magical thing my husband or I have ever known, period. Our guests have all been saying the same thing: "it was the most magical wedding they've ever been to." Laura did so much more than put on a memorable event; everyone felt transported to another place and time by the amount of beauty, love, and warmth of that night.

    Laura has an engineer's logistical brilliance combined with a set designer's sense of color, texture, and vibe, and a psychiatrist's emotional intelligence. As a designer, I had very specific ideas about decor and vendors, which made the wedding one big creative collaboration with Laura at the helm. Always steering things firmly in the right direction, always with a keen eye for details, and always with the perfect tone.

    Our wedding was a logistical rubik's cube. Our hearts were set on a stunning venue in the middle of the desert without cell service and no infrastructure. We wanted to bring 140 people to this place, and somehow make the whole thing ELEGANT to top it off (without going broke). Thanks to Laura and her wonderful team's vast amount legwork and trips to the desert, everything happened smoothly and on time. She alleviated our stress and made planning fun. She shared in and contributed to the collaborative, creative spirit of the wedding (she even stitched custom flags for our tent!). She managed the million moving parts with absolute competence and a steady hand. Most of all, she values and appreciates the magnitude of marriage and love above all else. She became our friend, and left an indelible mark on our lives in the process.

    Katie and the Gather team are truly the dream. From the start, her level headed, cool, calm and collected persona made our wedding planning so much more achievable and effective. She is incredibly resourceful, had the most amazing vendor recs and was also quick and happy to help with our questions throughout the months before the wedding. She's super responsive, honest, creative, and and her experience shows itself off in spades with every aspect of wedding planning.

    But Katie and the Gather team are more than just a wedding planning team. They brought our wedding to life. We kept planning more and more DIY touches for our event at Bridal Veil Lakes, an amazingly stunning location but with little existing infrastructure. Her team handled all our quirky requests and a van full of supplies with grace and aplomb, and when I came out for first look pictures, I was the one who got the first look at how she had made all our dreams come alive even more beautifully than we could have imagined. Katie somehow, basically like Mary Poppins, managed to be wherever help was needed throughout the whole event. She magically appeared when my bridal crew couldn't figure out the sash on my dress and in 2 secs, with a decisive hand, Katie had them ooing and aahing at the perfect bow. She was there to tell my now husband where one puts a boutonnière, and thoughtfully suggested that having his mother assist him with it would make for great pictures. Her team was there when we realized we had missing table assignments and had forgotten to put the cake together(!). When the temperatures dropped, she quietly went to the parking lot to grab kids jackets... those details (and everything that happened behind the scenes that I don't even know about) mean the world and add up to make the event the perfect day that exceeded every single one of my expectations. Do yourself a favor and hire Gather, and you won't ever look back at anything but the most incredible day.

    Katie and her rockstar team were so essential in us having the wedding of our dreams. When we first started planning our "destination" wedding in July of 2016 at Bridal Veil Lakes, we knew that we had to have someone on the ground helping us so we sought a day-of coordinator, but Katie was so much more. She was the first coordinator that I met with and I immediately knew we'd be working with her. Throughout the entire planning process, she was so incredibly responsive and warm, addressing right away every small concern I had, and no question was too silly. Her recommendations for vendors were so spot on and fit right in our budget.

    Bridal Veil Lakes is a pretty large venue and add to the wedding 20+ relatives coming from overseas (many who did not speak English), and a bridal party comprised of 8 bridesmaids and 9 groomsmen, her and her team did an amazing job of making sure everyone was where they needed to be. It also really helped that she's worked with / recommended to us many of our vendors so her great relationships with wedding industry professionals was the icing on the cake.

    At the rehearsal walk through the day before, Katie validated all the reasons why we chose her. She covered the details, and put my mom and extended family (many who have never attended a "western" style wedding before) at ease by going step-by-step through each part of the ceremony. The day of the wedding was a blur, but I can still remember all the moments she stepped in to make sure we were doing OK.

    Katie is thorough, personable, and overall, the most calm, level-headed person I can think of. Throughout all the craziness of the event, including running slightly behind (which she was magically able to rearrange the schedule) she remained so steadfast and exuded a sense of "everything is under control". Our deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to Katie & Team for pulling off a wedding that our friends & family are still raving about to this day.

    Probably the best decision we made was hiring Katie to do our day of coordination. She was calm and so helpful during the planning process. She had great suggestions and recommendations for us (including an awesome cleaner to do last minute emergency alterations to my dress). Both our caterer and band had worked with her before (which I didn't know until after I had hired them) and were very excited to work with her again. "Katie's the best," they both said independently and I agree. She and her team set up and took down all of the tables and chairs for us exactly as specified (including moving two ginormous picnic tables) and set up our somewhat complicated succulent centerpieces beautifully, just as I imagined. She made sure we were fed and hydrated and stress free. Little issues came up throughout the day but were never heard a thing about them because Katie was on it. Even my some of my more critical relatives remarked how great she was. If you are getting married in the Portland area, do yourself a favor and hire Gather Event Planning. Oh yeah, she is reasonably priced too!

    Gather Events is absolutely wonderful! We hired them for month-of coordination of our wedding as well as a couple of initial planning and design consulting add-on meetings. Besides deciding to get hitched, it was hands-down the best wedding-related decision we made! Unlike some of the other LA-based wedding planners I spoke to, Sarah and Laura were very respectful of our non-celebrity-level budget from the start, and had tons of creative suggestions on how to maximize the fun without blowing our budget, like hiring a taco truck to save on renting china, and making it a roving reception that incorporated the site's available eclectic seating. They have excellent connections to both up-and-coming talents and established vendors, and have a stellar reputation in the industry. I found that mentioning their name had an "open sesame" effect-- suddenly elusive or in-demand vendors would respond with great enthusiasm to my emails. I mostly worked with Laura in the month leading up to the wedding and she is an incredible person: whip smart, kind, creative, highly organized, and epitomizing grace under pressure. Her warm check-ins really kept me and the wedding planning on track. She instantly got the laid-back desert ranch vibe we were going for and had so many on-point ideas on how to make the wedding extra-special and "us," like having aguas frescas welcome drinks, a s'mores station, take-home Mexican blankets, and a polaroid guest book. Sarah was also amazing during the initial meeting and on the big day, and has a great sense of humour. It was really incredible working with both of them, and both my husband and I, as well as our family and friends, were absolutely thrilled with how the wedding turned out. I can't count the number of times guests have told me it was the "best wedding ever." Thanks to Gather, I was able to relax and have the time of my life. I really miss seeing Laura's emails pop up in my inbox and wish I could hire her as a life planner!

    Katie and the Gather team made planning a wedding easy! We had day of coordination but Katie was with us each step of the way and helped to guide us when making decisions. She knows everything and everyone in the Portland Metro area so when it came to choosing vendors she gave us recommendations within our budget and ever single thing she recommended was absolutely perfect.

    If you are planning a wedding make Gather Event Planning your first decision and then the rest of the process will be a breeze!

    From a Photographers view Amber was wonderful!

    As a photographer, I have worked with several coordinators over my 13 years in the industry. I was so impressed with how Amber and her team. When problems came up, they handled them with easy and quickly. The couple, family and wedding party didn't need to stress because they had it all under control. Communication before the wedding day was wonderful and easy. I am so impressed and can't wait to work with them again!

    Robin and the Gather team were so incredibly perfect for us. They listened to our vision and brought it to life. They had a great knowledge of all vendors, provided us with so many great choices. They took care of all the little details, allowing us to relax on our big day. They made coordination with all vendors easy. We felt like we were planning our wedding with the most professional and fun friends! Gather was responsive and professional. Robin kept us on schedule, coordinated promptly and provided great feedback for all our questions.

    We cannot recommend Gather enough. They take care of you from start to finish. They are with you every step of the way. We felt like their top priority. Day of, they give us space to experience our day, while also taking charge of coordinating everything seamlessly.

    The Gather Girls are fantastic! Robin, Sarah and Laura from Gather Events went out of their way to help plan our wedding. I cannot think of anyone better to help me plan the details of my wedding. From the budget to invitations to decor and coordinating, these girls are the best! They are some of the most creative people I have met and our wedding wouldn't have been as great if they had not helped. They made sure that our entire day was perfect and we couldn’t be more thankful!

    Oh...my...goodness..... Choosing Gather was the best decision we made. They are INCREDIBLE.... I cannot say enough great things about Katie, Monica, and Emily. Our day went off without a hitch because of these three amazing women. Actually, they literally made our wedding day perfect.

    I never thought I'd have wedding coordination. I cannot stress enough how worth it it was. It was because of them that I did not have to worry about a THING on our big day. They took care of everything. You know those silly details that start to worry you before the wedding? (who will take care of all the gifts and decor left behind?, what if the room gets extremely stuffy from the dancing?, what if we run out of booze!?!, etc). Well they took care of it. I cannot thank them enough for their amazing work.

    In addition, the day of our wedding I suddenly became nervous!! There is this moment that I will not forget. I was sitting in the bathroom, tearing up and breathing heavy out of nervousness because I was about to walk down the aisle. Katie came in and I said frantically, "IS IT TIME?!?!" and she said in the most comforting voice, "It's time. And it's going to be amazing." Then she handed me my hanky that my mom gave me (which I forgot upstairs). She is so sweet and incredible! I walked down the aisle confidently, knowing that it was all going to fine. AND IT WAS. It was literally the best day of my husband and my life together. I owe a HUGE portion of this to Gather. I highly recommend this vendor.

    Sarah and Robin were a pure delight to work with from beginning to end. Not only were they professional, timely, super competent, and responsible, but they were also very warm, creative and charming. It felt like we were planning an exciting fun event together with good friends. They seemed to understand intuitively the kinds of things that we were interested in and collaborated with their own suggestions and ideas. It really took so much stress out of planning the wedding to have them on our side. Now, I wouldn't think of organizing a big party or event without consulting with them again.

    We used Gather Events from the moment we started to plan, so I have a lot of experience working with these talented ladies. The girls really listened to each and every idea, and I must say, I had quite the plethora of eclectic ideas; yet they came to us with extremely creative, thoughtful, and just-plain-cool designs-an impossible way to combine all of our must-haves into one beautiful, cohesive and magical day. From that day on I was able to relinquish my control (which is hard for a type A me) and allow them to let their creative juices flow. When I gave them that freedom, they came up with things I couldn't even dream of for our day-very special things for me, my groom, and for our guests. Even my now-husband was wowed with their ideas. I cried during one of their presentations to us because of the unique and very special guestbook idea they created for us. So personal and different. The guests had a blast with ur quilting bee, revisiting it multiple times through the evening.

    The Gather girls are well respected in the industry and I noted that in the way they helped us choose vendors, how they worked with vendors, and how the vendors worked outside the box for us. They helped us research photographers, catering companies, the music, etc. and kept us on a nice timeline. We had an extraordinary day that is so hard to put into words. Just over 3 years later, our friends and family still talk about our wedding (calling it the most unique, gorgeous, and BEST wedding ever!). Honestly, it was all because of the GATHER girls. They work hard, very hard, and are creative geniuses and perfectionists. That is why our day was so perfect and 100% us.

    Gather was great! Our wedding was everything we dreamed of and more! Robin and Sarah understood our vision and where able to execute it in a very challenging venue. They were professional, easy to work with and coordinated a beautiful and super fun wedding.
